Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 : The Missing Child Case

A quiet afternoon settled over Beika City.

Inside Teitan Elementary School, the final bell rang.

Children rushed outside excitedly.

For most students, the day meant games, snacks, and television.

For a certain group of children…

It meant investigation.

Outside the school gate stood the newly formed Detective Boys.

Genta Kojima crossed his arms proudly.

"Alright! What's our next case?"

Beside him, Ayumi Yoshida looked thoughtful.

"Maybe we can find a lost pet?"

Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya adjusted his glasses.

"A real detective team should solve serious cases."

Standing quietly nearby was Conan Edogawa.

He sighed internally.

"Why am I part of this…"

But at that exact moment—

A woman rushed toward the school gate.

She looked frantic.

Her eyes were red from crying.

"Excuse me!"

The children turned.

"My son… my son is missing!"

Conan's eyes sharpened instantly.

A real case.

The woman continued nervously.

"He didn't come home from school yesterday."

Mitsuhiko gasped.

"A missing child?"

Genta clenched his fists.

"We'll find him!"

Ayumi nodded seriously.

"Leave it to the Detective Boys!"

Conan sighed.

"This just got complicated."

Across town.

Haruki Akizawa walked along the sidewalk near the school district.

His daily routine had become deliberate.

Normal.

Predictable.

Exactly what someone under possible surveillance should look like.

Then—

Haruki stopped briefly.

A missing child case.

Given the location…

It was likely connected to Teitan Elementary School.

Which meant—

Conan might already be involved.

Haruki changed direction calmly.

Meanwhile.

At a nearby park.

The worried mother explained everything.

"My son's name is Kenji."

She showed them a photograph.

A small boy with round glasses.

Mitsuhiko took notes proudly.

"When was the last time you saw him?"

"Yesterday morning."

Ayumi asked gently.

"Did he say anything strange?"

The woman shook her head.

"No… but his teacher said he seemed nervous."

Conan thought carefully.

"Nervous about what?"

Then suddenly—

Genta pointed.

"Hey!"

Everyone looked.

A bicycle stood near the park entrance.

Small.

Child-sized.

Ayumi gasped.

"That looks like Kenji's!"

The mother nodded quickly.

"Yes! That's his!"

Conan crouched beside the bicycle.

His eyes scanned the ground.

Footprints.

Two sets.

One small.

One adult.

Then another voice spoke calmly behind them.

"Looks like someone walked with him."

Conan turned.

Haruki Akizawa.

Again.

Genta grinned.

"Hey! Glasses guy!"

Ayumi waved.

"Hello again!"

Conan studied Haruki carefully.

"Too many coincidences…"

Haruki crouched beside the bicycle.

Observation Boost activated.

Small scratches on the handlebar.

A loose shoelace on the ground.

Footprints heading toward the alley behind the park.

Haruki pointed.

"They went that way."

Conan had already noticed the same thing.

But Haruki spoke first.

Again.

The mother gasped.

"Let's go!"

Inside the narrow alley.

Trash bins lined the walls.

The footprints continued.

Then suddenly—

They stopped near a small warehouse door.

Conan examined the lock.

Broken.

Recently forced.

Haruki's eyes narrowed slightly.

Micro Expression Analysis wasn't needed here.

The evidence spoke clearly.

Someone had taken the boy inside.

The mother began to panic.

"Kenji!"

Conan whispered quietly.

"If he's inside… we have to be careful."

Genta puffed his chest.

"We'll save him!"

Haruki approached the door slowly.

Then—

Danger Prediction Activated

Potential threat detected nearby.

Haruki stopped instantly.

His instincts sharpened.

Someone was inside.

Waiting.

Possibly armed.

Haruki spoke quietly.

"Step back."

Conan noticed his tone.

Serious.

Focused.

Conan whispered.

"You feel it too?"

Haruki glanced at him briefly.

Interesting question.

Then—

A loud crash came from inside the warehouse.

A child's voice screamed.

"HELP!"

The mother gasped.

"Kenji!"

Haruki pushed the door open.

Inside the dim warehouse—

A man grabbed the frightened child.

Holding a knife.

"Stay back!"

Everyone froze.

The kidnapper's eyes were wild.

Desperate.

Sweat ran down his face.

Haruki analyzed instantly.

Unstable.

Panicked.

But not professional.

Conan thought quickly.

"A desperate amateur criminal."

The man shouted again.

"I just need money!"

The mother cried.

"I'll give you anything!"

Haruki raised one hand calmly.

"Let the boy go."

The kidnapper shook his head.

"No!"

Conan's mind raced.

How to disarm him without risking the child?

Then Haruki spoke again.

Calm.

Quiet.

"You don't want to hurt him."

Micro Expression Analysis activated.

The man's pupils twitched.

Fear.

Regret.

Haruki continued.

"You only needed money."

The man's breathing slowed slightly.

The tension cracked.

That moment—

Conan kicked a loose box on the floor.

It slid hard into the man's legs.

The knife dropped.

Haruki moved instantly.

He grabbed the kidnapper's wrist and pinned him to the floor.

The child ran straight into his mother's arms.

Police sirens echoed moments later.

Outside the warehouse.

The mother bowed repeatedly.

"Thank you! Thank you!"

Genta laughed proudly.

"We saved him!"

Ayumi smiled brightly.

"The Detective Boys did it!"

Conan looked toward Haruki.

Once again—

They had worked together.

Without even planning it.

Haruki checked the system.

Across the street.

Inside a parked black car.

Vodka lowered his binoculars.

"He intervened."

Beside him—

Gin remained silent.

Watching.

Thinking.

Then he spoke quietly.

"He's interesting."

Vodka frowned.

"What now?"

Gin crushed his cigarette.

"We test him again."

Meanwhile—

Conan watched Haruki walk away.

His thoughts grew heavier.

"That guy…"

"He's definitely hiding something."

And now—
