Chapter 67 - 67

Chapter 67: Danzo's Ambition

"Sasuke-kun, and Naruto, let's go eat together."

Sakura felt quite guilty for receiving such a large sum of money without doing anything, so she wanted to treat her two teammates to a big meal.

Sasuke instinctively wanted to refuse, but he didn't say it aloud, his eyes turning toward Naruto.

Sakura maintained her smile.

But her inner personality was absolutely furious.

Naruto, don't steal my man!

"..."

Naruto blinked.

Why are you looking at me?

Could it be the mutual attraction of Ashura and Indra's genes again?

These two 'best friends' have been fighting back and forth for a thousand years, and even now, a winner has yet to be decided.

"Sasuke, go ahead."

Naruto said, seeing the expectant look on Sakura's face.

Sasuke nodded.

Since Naruto said to go, he had to give him face, but the next sentence left him a bit dumbfounded.

"Sakura, since Sasuke agreed, I won't be going."

"Okay."

Sakura was overjoyed.

What a good bro!

Naruto waved his hand and vanished from the spot.

He arrived at the Hyuga house but only saw Neji, not Hinata.

"I heard you went on a C-rank mission. How are you back so soon?"

Neji asked, seeing him peeking over the wall of his home.

However, in the Hyuga Compound, which was full of Byakugan, he might as well just walk in openly.

After all, no one would dare lay a finger on him.

Even if he were to snatch Hinata away, the Hyuga Clan probably wouldn't say a word.

"How did you know?"

"My teacher told me."

"Oh, right. Guy-senpai and Kakashi-sensei are life-and-death friends, so it's normal for him to know."

Naruto remembered his teacher was Might Guy, so he waved his hand. "Since we didn't run into any experts, it finished quite quickly."

Neji didn't doubt him and said, "You're here for Hinata, right? She should be at the Peach Grove by your Treehouse. Since you left, she's gone there every day."

He referred to her as Hinata, not Lady Hinata.

Neji felt almost no distance from her.

Even though he still hated the Main House, that hatred didn't include Hinata.

Now, he only wanted to protect his two sisters.

"Thanks."

With a few leaps, Naruto appeared at the Peach Grove.

"Hinata."

"Eh?"

Hearing the familiar voice, a look of surprise and joy appeared on Hinata's face, and she hurriedly ran out to throw herself into his arms.

Naruto was somewhat surprised; it was the first time he had seen this little girl be so bold.

Hadn't there been times before when they didn't see each other for half a month?

Was she worried he was in danger this time?

But it really was nice.

Having someone miss you when you're far from home.

He stroked Hinata's soft hair.

"Hmph, shame on you, how shameless."

The sudden voice...

...made Naruto notice there was another little one there.

Hyuga Hanabi.

Her cute face was filled with displeasure.

Her sister spent all day muttering Naruto's name in front of her.

She was supposed to be playing with her, yet she was thinking about someone else.

It was just too annoying!

Her sister wasn't like this before.

All the changes started after she met this guy in front of her.

Hinata, with her head buried in his chest, suddenly remembered Hanabi was still there. She quickly pushed Naruto away and whispered with a red face, "Hanabi, don't be rude."

Hanabi became even more dissatisfied, her pout growing deeper.

Sister, you're actually scolding your own sister for an outsider?!

"Hanabi, I often hear your sister mention you."

Seeing her huffy expression, Naruto couldn't help but smile. "She often says you're cute and smart, but seeing you today, I think she was a bit wrong."

"???"

Hanabi's anger flared up.

It's one thing to steal my sister, but you're insulting me too?

"I should say you're a little fairy descended from heaven; otherwise, how could there be such a beautiful little girl?"

"Eh?"

Hanabi was almost caught off guard by the sudden twist. After a moment, she turned her head and huffed, "Don't think I'll acknowledge you just because you're praising me!"

"Then I'll treat you to a meal."

Naruto said, his eyes twinkling.

"Just one meal..."

Hanabi was about to say something tough to let him know she wasn't to be trifled with, but seeing Hinata's look, she said, "I want to eat BBQ."

Fine, she'd give her sister some face.

Naruto held Hinata's hand and walked slowly toward the BBQ Restaurant.

"You've never praised me like that before."

Hinata said in a low voice.

"The sister of a little fairy is naturally a big fairy."

Naruto added, thinking on his feet.

Hinata, who had been feeling a bit jealous, immediately began to smile shyly.

"You're the one who's cute."

Naruto sighed with emotion as he tightened his grip on her soft hand.

"..."

Hanabi felt she shouldn't have come.

I'm only seven years old, yet I'm enduring pressure I shouldn't have to.

So, she turned her grief into appetite. No longer looking at the two feeding each other dog food, she focused entirely on the BBQ.

When Naruto went to pay the bill, he was slightly surprised.

How terrifying!

Even the Akimichi Clan would have to admit defeat.

Most importantly, her figure didn't even change.

It was simply ridiculous.

After Naruto and Hinata walked Hanabi home, they strolled along the street.

He suddenly remembered that the Chunin Examswere just around the corner.

He recalled that in the original story, Konohamaru Sarutobi had some scenes around this time.

But he wasn't very interested in that brat, and he hadn't watched boruto, so he'd just let things be.

Anyway, he's the Third's grandson; it's not that easy for him to die.

Naruto planned to stay home.

That way, it would be impossible to trigger the plot.

Naruto bought a skewer of three-colored dango and handed it to Hinata.

He listened to her talk about recent events.

Since they were a reconnaissance squad, most of their missions involved finding people, cats, or dogs.

Anything higher than that was non-existent for now.

Although Hinata was strong enough, Kurenai Yuhididn't know that, so she hadn't applied for higher-level missions like Kakashi had.

"That cat was so cute, pure white. It bit me at first, but later it let me pet its head. After the mission was over, it kept rubbing its head against my leg, unwilling to leave..."

Hinata talked and laughed.

Naruto stared at her without saying a word.

Time seemed to stand still at this moment.

Danzo, however, wished that time could flow backward.

If he could go back to half a month ago, he would definitely make that monkey understand why the flowers are so red.

He looked at the room full of flat peaches.

Every single one had a bite taken out of it.

A full billion spent to buy just forty flat peaches.

At the moment he realized the truth, he wanted to cry but couldn't.

Looking back on his past, other than failing to become Hokage, this was the first time Danzo had been scammed so badly.

"Danzo-sama."

Fu Yamanaka appeared before him and said hesitantly, "We haven't found the so-called Water Curtain Cave."

"I know."

Danzo wasn't surprised.

The previous encounter was definitely a genjutsu.

For a moment, he suspected Uchiha Itachi.

Very few people could possess such a genjutsu.

But he had no evidence, and for the time being, he didn't want to have a falling out with Uchiha Itachi.

"There's one more thing. Hokage-sama is already aware and is investigating the whereabouts of the billion."

"Ignore it."

Danzo was expressionless.

Hiruzen, I'm sorry, but you've been Hokage long enough.

The Hokage position is taken in turns; this year, it's my turn.

"Quickly, go to the west and invite Orochimaru."

This book probably won't have the boruto plot, and very little of Konohamaru's. PS: Big shots, please give me recommendation votes.
