Xavier's POV
I drove in silence for a while, the hum of the engine was doing nothing to quiet the chaotic rush of unanswered questions in my mind.
Four long years... Four years since I last touched Sabrina, held her, and stole those reckless, secret nights from under my brother's nose.
My head throbbed as I tried to imagine what it was going to be like the moment I finally stood face-to-face with her again.
Suddenly, I remembered the phone call I was supposed to make before Hailey rang and derailed my whole train of thought with her domestic nonsense.
I reached over to the passenger seat, snatched my phone off the leather cushion, and dialed Gavin's number. I slapped the device onto speakerphone and tossed it onto the dashboard as it began to ring.
After three long rings, Gavin finally picked up. "Detective. I am guessing you went through the envelope?"
