Olivia Wynne didn't know how long she had been in her room. It wasn't until her stomach rumbled in protest that she contentedly put down the script and came out of her space.
Just as Olivia Wynne emerged, Zachary Fairchild opened the door to his study and came out as well.
Seeing Olivia Wynne standing in the living room, the clear light in Zachary Fairchild's eyes deepened slightly. "You've been home this whole time?"
Olivia Wynne glanced at the study behind Zachary, realizing he must have been back for a while. After a few seconds of silence, she answered in a low voice, "I was just in my room."
"Oh."
Zachary acknowledged her answer with a sound, his gaze sweeping toward Olivia's bedroom door. "Is the soundproofing really that good? You didn't hear me when I called?"
Olivia was startled for a moment but quickly regained her composure.
"I was in my room reading my script. I got a little too absorbed."
