She gave a sheepish laugh. "A spam call."
"A spam call got through to your phone?" 'Then I have to admit, they've really got some skills.'
Henry Sterling didn't believe her for a second, a hint of gravity creeping into his smile. "Sophie Keaton, you'd better be honest with me while I'm still being nice."
"..."
'He's really scary when he gets angry.'
Sophie Keaton's cheeks puffed out. In a small voice, she said, "It was Ion, okay? I told him I have a fiancé, but he wouldn't listen. What was I supposed to do?"
At this, she felt she hadn't done anything wrong and straightened her posture. "If you're going to be mad at someone, be mad at Ion. It has nothing to do with me."
'I made my position perfectly clear, after all.'
Henry Sterling glanced at her. "Got it. Go to bed."
'That Ion... on the surface, he and I get along great. He even cracks a few jokes with me from time to time.'
'But behind my back, he's going after my fiancée!'
'Fine.'
'The guy's got some real nerve.'
