The wind blew apart the clouds obscuring the moon, letting the moonlight spill across the streets of City P. It looked as if a spotlight had been set up specifically for Quanxi. Under the silver light, Quanxi danced alone amidst an army of millions.
Her deadly waltz claimed massive swathes of Terracotta Warriors with every graceful movement. On the other side, however, Arata's situation was significantly less elegant. He was still being relentlessly chased by Golden Lu Bu.
The two of them played a deadly game of tag. If Arata got caught, he'd be subjected to a brutal beatdown. Since Golden Lu Bu had no brain and no soul, the third layer of the dream realm was completely useless against dead objects. So Arata didn't even plan on paying him any more attention.
"Strange, where could this guy have hidden his heart?" Arata spread his bat wings and took to the sky. Down below, Golden Lu Bu's jumping power was absurd, leaping over ten meters into the air and nearly clipping Arata.
To avoid being pestered by the golden giant, Arata flew up to a height of thirty meters. This left Golden Lu Bu helplessly glaring from the ground. Unable to reach his target, all he could do was shout insults.
"Don't waste your breath. Even though your Empty City Strategy slowed down my plans, as long as my army keeps marching, they will eventually find humans. I refuse to believe the next city is empty too!" the History Devil laughed loudly.
His laughter echoed across the entirety of Mount P. He didn't seem to think he was going to lose in the slightest. "You're laughing pretty happily. That proves you're absolutely confident I won't be able to find your heart."
"Exactly, you will never find it." "I don't believe that." Arata's eyes suddenly hardened with resolve. He opened his palms and raised both arms high above his head.
Right then, the howling wind outside the tomb began to surge. Endless currents of wind swept through the main gates, pouring into the tomb and channeling directly into Arata's palms. As more and more wind gathered, a massive sphere of compressed air gradually took shape.
"What are you trying to do?" the History Devil asked in confusion. "I've got nothing better to do anyway, might as well gather a Spirit Bomb to play around with." Hearing Arata's new trick, the History Devil roared, "Kill him!!"
Down below, Golden Lu Bu leaned back, gripping his golden Sky-Piercer Halberd. After locking onto his target, he instantly hurled the golden weapon with explosive force. Swoosh!!!
Since Arata was busy channeling his Spirit Bomb and couldn't move, he quickly formed several wind barriers beneath him. The halberd pierced through layer after layer of the barriers until it finally lost its momentum against the very last one.
Just as the halberd was about to harmlessly drop back to the ground, a massive swarm of flies swarmed in like a black storm cloud and caught the falling weapon. Vrrrrrrrr!! "Hurry up, grab it and run," Arata shouted.
Before Golden Lu Bu could even react, the cloud of flies hoisted the heavy weapon and flew high into the sky. The extra flies even arranged themselves to spell out "Thanks for the gift!" The mockery levels were instantly maxed out.
Watching the swarm of flies and his golden weapon fly higher and higher, Golden Lu Bu's eyes widened in fury. Clenching his fists, he roared, "Despicable coward!!" Stripped of his weapon, Golden Lu Bu's threatening aura plummeted.
Now, all he could do was bend down, pick up rocks from the ground, and hurl them at Arata. But mere stones couldn't even put a dent in the wind barriers. Up in the air, the Spirit Bomb in Arata's hands had grown large enough to cover the entire ground floor. It had reached its limit.
"Let's see if you can withstand this attack." Arata hurled the massive sphere downward. The Spirit Bomb, almost equal in size to the entire floor of the tomb, slowly descended. The crushing wind pressure felt like a falling mountain.
But Golden Lu Bu didn't retreat. Instead, he charged forward, leaping into the air to face the Spirit Bomb head-on. He was immediately crushed into the ground, flattened into a golden pancake. The second the sphere made contact with the floor, the energy detonated. Boom!!
A hurricane swept through the entire tomb. Even the countless complex tunnels were instantly flooded by the violent air currents. Arata used this blast to scan every single inch of the tunnels, but he still couldn't find a single trace of the stone heart.
This actually left Arata a little puzzled. If the stone heart wasn't in the tomb, where else could it be? Staring down at Golden Lu Bu, who had already regenerated his form on the ground, a sudden flash of inspiration hit Arata.
"Good lord, don't tell me it's him!!" "Stop wasting your energy, you will never find my stone heart." The History Devil had been deeply shocked by that massive attack just now, but shock aside, he had no idea what Arata's true goal was. He just assumed Arata was using that move to deal with Golden Lu Bu.
"If I can't find it, then I won't look for it." Arata pulled out his phone and forced it to turn on. Using the last one percent of battery, he gave Jackie a call. After confirming that everything was set up, he stuffed the phone back into his pocket and summoned a Mirror Gate.
Meanwhile, over in City O of Region S. Tens of thousands of Terracotta Warriors were frantically sprinting toward the city. The distant thundering of hooves and bloodcurdling battle cries washed over City O, causing the dead-of-night city to suddenly light up entirely.
Everyone was on edge, consumed by terror. The evacuated residents of City P were even more terrified. Many of them were crammed inside a massive shelter, holding their heads and crying in despair. They thought fleeing City P would save their lives, but now it seemed completely useless.
Coupled with the sheer numbers mentioned in the broadcasts, all the residents of City P had prepared themselves for death. The locals of City O were experiencing the looming threat of death for the very first time, and most were frantically packing their bags to flee to the next city.
Inside the office, the Mayor of Region S was sitting on pins and needles. The refugee crisis from City P hadn't even been resolved yet, and an even bigger disaster was already knocking on their door. Right then, two high-ranking officials had devolved from intense physical brawling into a furious shouting match.
"What do we do now? You caused this mess, you have to find a way to fix it!" the Mayor demanded. "I didn't cause this! I didn't create the Terracotta Warriors, the devils did!" the highest-ranking female superior of Dragon Team 1 shot back.
"So what do we do now?! We thought everything would be fine, and now the Terracotta Army is about to slaughter City O!" "Quickly sound the alarms and evacuate the masses, then beg the provincial leaders for help."
"Why didn't you let me ask for backup from the higher-ups in the first place?! Now you dump this massive disaster on us in the middle of the night! Both of our careers are completely finished!" "I... I trusted those Devil Hunters from Dragon Team 1 too much! They said they could handle it, and now I'm going to go down in history as a sinner!"
Knock, knock, knock!!! "Who is it!!" "Mayor, Jackie Chan sent a gift over." "A gift? Christmas passed a long time ago. What kind of gift is he sending now?"
"He said it can solve the crisis in City O." Hearing that it could solve the crisis, the two of them wanted to see what it was. "Bring it in," the Mayor shouted. A secretary pushed in a full-length dressing mirror covered by a black cloth.
The two officials quickly walked over and pulled off the black cloth, only to find a perfectly ordinary mirror. "What is the meaning of this?" "Is he trying to make us take a good look at our own ugly faces?" the female Dragon Team superior asked.
"What the hell are you talking about?!" "Ahhh!!" "What are you screaming for?!" "Look at the mirror!" she shrieked, pointing at the glass.
The Mayor quickly turned his head. A leg stepped straight out from the surface of the mirror, followed closely by a man walking fully out into the room. "You... you're that Arata guy!" "That's right. I'm here to negotiate terms with you."
"What terms?" "I can solve the Terracotta Army crisis for you, but you must unconditionally agree to one request." "How are you going to solve it?" "You don't need to know that. If you don't want City O to be slaughtered overnight, agree to my demand right now."
"Do you really have a way?" "I only say things once. Ask me again and don't blame me for getting nasty." "Fine! As long as you can stop the Terracotta crisis, I'll agree to anything!" "Very shrewd of you, Mayor." Arata extended his right hand.
Without a second thought, the Mayor immediately shook Arata's hand. An agreement had been reached.
