After finishing the contract with the mayor, Arata stepped through the Mirror Gate and returned to Mount P. He then flew straight back into the underground tomb.
Noticing Arata's reappearance, the History Devil laughed. "I thought you ran away. To think you actually dared to come back and seek death." "I came back this time to finish you off." "Finish me off? In another ten minutes, my Terracotta Army will reach the next city. As long as the slaughter doesn't stop, I am invincible." "It's true that it wouldn't take long for you to complete your grand conquest. But unfortunately, you're not going to get that chance."
As he spoke, Arata's body rapidly expanded in size. His gigantic hand snatched Golden Lu Bu, gripping him tightly in his palm. "If I'm not mistaken, this right here is your heart." "Haha, what kind of joke is that?!" the History Devil laughed loudly to cover up his rising panic. "Whether it's a joke or not, you know the answer in your own heart." Arata forcefully bent Golden Lu Bu's body, crushing him in his grip.
"Even if you guessed right, there's nothing you can do to me. You can't kill my heart anyway. Why don't we cooperate instead? I'll give you half the world." "Do you think the world is a box of juice you can just casually split with someone?" "Then what do you want?" "I want it all."
The History Devil paused for a moment. "Fine. The world goes to you, the people go to me." "I said I want it all. Not just the world, but all the humans in it belong to me too." With that, Arata hurled Golden Lu Bu straight up into the high sky. "No!!!!" the History Devil suddenly shrieked.
The exact moment Golden Lu Bu flew out of the tomb, it was the equivalent of the heart leaving the body. The previously vibrant and shifting tomb instantly became dead and completely still. Even after waiting a moment, not a single sound echoed out. At that exact same time, the residents of City O were staring in sheer terror at the densely packed Terracotta Warriors in the distance. But the very next second, the scene drastically changed. Like a fleeting dream, the tens of millions of soldiers in the Terracotta Army turned into smoke and sand, vanishing completely into thin air.
"What's going on?!" "Honey, tell the kids they can come out of the fridge now. The Terracotta Warriors are gone." "Gone?" The man's wife hurriedly rushed to the window, pressing her face right up against the glass as she stared into the distance. After watching for a long time, she truly couldn't find a single trace of the Terracotta Warriors.
Whoosh~ A massive gust of wind blew past, slapping yellow sand against the window panes. By now, more and more people in City O were noticing the anomaly. The thunderous stampede and bloodcurdling battle cries of the massive army, along with the suffocating black mass of troops in the distance, had all vanished in the blink of an eye. Their emotions shifted from sheer panic and restless dread to overwhelming joy and cheers of relief. They found hope in the depths of total despair. Families huddled together, crying out loud. In this moment, they could finally breathe a long sigh of relief, because none of them had to die today.
Meanwhile, back in the Mayor's office. "Mayor!!" The female superior of Dragon Team 1 frantically rushed into the office. "Mayor, this is wonderful news! The Terracotta Warriors have vanished!" "They really disappeared?" "Yes! Jackie Chan specifically flew all the way from City O back to City P, and he didn't spot a single Terracotta Warrior along the entire route."
Learning that the Terracotta Army was completely gone, the Mayor instantly slumped onto the floor. He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, feeling a massive burden lift off his shoulders. Fortunately, he managed to secure his position as Mayor in the end. After sitting for a moment, he slowly got up. "That Arata guy really did it! I didn't believe him at all in the beginning."
"I never expected he could actually wipe out an army of tens of millions all by himself. This guy is way too strong! If we can get him to join Dragon Team 1, our futures will be absolutely incredibly bright." The female superior actually started laughing as she spoke. She had heard that Jackie had a good relationship with Arata. She figured she'd just have Jackie put in a few good words, and maybe they could actually convince Arata to stay.
"If he joins Dragon Team 1, it'd definitely be a blessing for us. But regardless, you should pack up your things and go home," the Mayor said. "Understood, Mayor. I'll head back to Dragon Team 1 first then." "Hold on. I meant you need to pack up and go back to your hometown. You won't be returning to Dragon Team 1 anymore."
... Back on Mount P. After the History Devil died, the tomb fell into absolute, dead silence. Bang!!! The Golden Lu Bu that had been hurled into the sky crashed back down to the ground, turning into a completely genuine, lifeless golden statue. While such a massive golden statue was incredibly tempting, its value didn't even come close to the abilities of the History Devil.
Arata drew a ritual circle around Golden Lu Bu. The corpse sank into the ground, and very quickly, Arata's body obtained the power of the History Devil. In the blink of an eye, over a hundred Terracotta Warriors suddenly appeared on the ground. "Do the chicken dance right where you are."
As soon as the words left his mouth, the hundred Terracotta Warriors started jumping in place. If he had hooked up a sound system, the effect would have been perfectly maxed out. The reason the Terracotta Warriors were dancing wasn't because Arata was leading them from the front, but because they were following the dance routine directly from his consciousness. In other words, Arata was controlling them with his mind. As long as he formed a thought, the Terracotta Warriors would immediately execute it.
With his current level of power, Arata could only manufacture basic Terracotta Warriors. Crafting a single one required 300 ml of blood. With his massive Blood Pool, generating an army of tens of thousands wasn't a problem at all. However, creating a stone golem required sacrificing 100 Terracotta Warriors. The stone golems were immortal, but every time they resurrected, it cost another 300 ml of blood.
Creating a golden golem required 1,000 stone golems. As long as he had enough blood, he could even manufacture troop types far stronger than the golden golems. If he wanted to build an army and upgrade their tiers, all he had to do was continuously harvest blood. "Synthesize."
Arata tested out the mechanics. The 100 Terracotta Warriors doing the chicken dance instantly fused together and transformed into a single stone golem. Right then, a monster that looked like a giant toad came flying through the sky from a distance, leaping from rock to rock. Recognizing who it was, Arata quickly stored his new stone golem inside the Mirror Dimension.
"Arata!!!" The giant toad shouted. It finally morphed back into Jackie as it landed right in front of Arata. "Jackie, you're back." "What the hell is that thing behind you?" Jackie stared at the massive tomb jutting out of the ground. Even after the History Devil's death, the tomb didn't vanish. Instead, it remained in place, becoming a permanent historical ruin. "This is the underground tomb I was telling you about."
"The underground tomb ran all the way up to the surface!" Jackie exclaimed in surprise, suddenly developing a deep interest in the history of the structure. But this wasn't the time to ask questions. "Arata, it's all thanks to you. Otherwise, millions of people across both cities would have lost their lives tonight." "It's not just my credit. If you hadn't led your team to actively evacuate the masses, Jackie, I wouldn't have been able to stop the Terracotta Warriors from flooding into City P." "Let's head home first. Uncle and the others already went into the Mirror Dimension through your Mirror Gate."
Fortunately, the Mirror Dimension was partitioned off by numerous different mirrors. Otherwise, if Uncle and the rest saw the stone golem he had just tossed in there, a fight would have inevitably broken out. However, Arata and Jackie weren't the only ones heading home right now.
Over in City O, public broadcasts announced that the Terracotta Army threat had been completely neutralized. Learning that it was safe to return, the refugees from City P packed up. In the early hours of the morning, the roads leading back home became heavily congested once again.
The previously dead and silent City P slowly regained its vitality. Even though it had barely been a day, every single resident of City P would forever engrave the experiences of this day into their memories. As more and more people returned home, the lights of life in City P were ignited once again under the dark night sky.
