Chapter 170 - Chapter 169: Conspiracy

At the entrance of Jujutsu High, sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground.

Gojo Satoru wore his signature black blindfold, hands in his pockets, and looked at the tall and straight figure of Fushiguro Megumi standing before him. A satisfied smile played on his lips, and his tone was as light as if he were chatting casually:

"Not bad, not bad. Our Fushiguro is finally getting his first solo mission. You have to take it seriously, okay~"

Fushiguro Megumi looked at his flippant demeanor, sighed helplessly, but still nodded solemnly.

Since entering Jujutsu High, although Gojo Satoru's strength was unfathomable, he never acted like a teacher. Yet, every mission he assigned was precise and important, leaving no room for carelessness.

"This mission is to retrieve a special grade cursed object: sukunas finger."

As Gojo Satoru spoke, he raised a hand and patted Fushiguro Megumi's shoulder, his tone so relaxed it was as if he were saying, "Go buy a bottle of soda":

"It's not too difficult. With your strength, you can definitely complete it alone." Before he finished speaking, he had already pushed Fushiguro Megumi toward the car parked by the road, his movements swift and clean.

As Fushiguro Megumi bent down to get into the car, he suddenly remembered something and turned his head to ask:

"Teacher Gojo, when exactly is the new student arriving? It's been months since school started, and I'm still the only one in the first year."

Facing an unreliable teacher and an empty classroom every day, without even a single companion he could talk to normally, made the usually composed Fushiguro feel helpless.

Hearing this question, Gojo Satoru immediately gave a reassuring "leave it to me" smile and offered a thumbs-up:

"Don't worry, don't worry, I've already contacted her! It's a girl, and she should arrive in a few days. You'll have a new partner then~"

Fushiguro Megumi looked at the cunning light flickering in his eyes, and an expression of suspicion involuntarily crossed his face.

Teacher Gojo's words always made one want to be extra cautious.

But before he could press further, Gojo Satoru reached out and gave a push, sending him securely into the car with a decisive, no-nonsense motion.

"Wait, Teacher!" Fushiguro Megumi quickly grabbed the car door, "Didn't you say you were coming with me?"

This was his first time undertaking a solo special grade cursed object retrieval mission. Although Gojo Satoru said it wasn't difficult, he still felt somewhat uncertain.

Gojo Satoru leaned against the car door, his gaze under the blindfold seeming to sweep toward the distance. His tone was slightly more serious than before, yet still carried a hint of casualness:

"I've run into a minor situation here.

It's a message from Rin. He was ambushed by a Curse User and four Special Grade Cursed Spirits. I need to go check on the situation."

"What?!" Fushiguro Megumi shot upright. The composure on his face was instantly replaced by shock, and his voice involuntarily rose a few octaves:

"How could something like that happen? Teacher Gojo, you need to hurry! Otherwise, Senior Rin might be in danger!"

Since the battle at Lake Biwa, Rin's image in his mind had become nearly legendary. But facing an ambush by one Curse User and four Special Grade Cursed Spirits, even the strongest person would inevitably be in danger.

Facing Fushiguro Megumi's anxious expression, Gojo Satoru merely chuckled, raised a hand to ruffle his hair, and spoke with absolute certainty:

"Don't worry. Rin is perfectly safe.

The Cursed Spirits were defeated and fled, and the Curse User was severely injured. They won't be causing any trouble."

He paused, then added:

"I'm just going to find out the specifics and handle some follow-up. I'll hurry over to you soon. Don't worry, I wouldn't miss my student's first solo mission~"

Before his words faded, Gojo Satoru's figure turned into an afterimage and instantly vanished from the spot, leaving only a light "Be careful on the road" echoing in the air.

Fushiguro Megumi sat in the car, looking at the empty school entrance. The anxiety in his heart gradually subsided, replaced by profound shock.

An ambush by four Special Grade Cursed Spirits and one Curse User was merely repelled by Rin, forcing them to flee? How terrifyingly strong was the senior he had never met but whose reputation preceded him?

He shook his head, suppressing the distracting thoughts, and gripped the Cursed Tool in his hand. His eyes became resolute once more.

No matter how strong Senior Rin was, he couldn't take his own mission lightly.

Starting the car, Fushiguro Megumi drove toward the mission location. This was his first solo mission, and an important step on his path to becoming stronger.

On the other side, Gojo Satoru's figure appeared high above the clouds. The Rikugan beneath his blindfold turned slightly, sensing the residual Cursed Energy fluctuations in the distance.

That guy Rin, always causing such a massive commotion. Four Special Grade Cursed Spirits... It seems this incident is likely more complicated than just "checking the situation."

His figure flashed, and he sped toward Rin's location... A few days earlier

Inside an unknown villa in the suburbs of Tokyo, the curtains were tightly drawn. Under the dim light, a mahjong table occupied the center of the room.

Jogo, Hanami, Kenjaku, and the newly born Special Grade Cursed Spirit Mahito sat around the table. The clattering sound of shuffling tiles mingled with the subtle fluctuations of Cursed Energy, creating an atmosphere of eerie calm.

Kenjaku held a mahjong tile between his fingers and slowly played it. His gaze swept over Jogo opposite him, his tone carrying a hint of casual mockery:

"You've recovered quite well, Jogo. Your aura is more condensed than before. It seems merging with the power of Earth Fiend has pushed you to the next level."

At the mention of "Earth Fiend," the Cursed Energy around Jogo abruptly stalled.

There was no ripple of emotion on his pale face, only a flicker of barely perceptible pain deep in his eyes.

In the past, being mocked by Kenjaku like this would have driven him to furiously flip the table. But now, he calmly drew a mahjong tile and played it, his voice low and hoarse:

"I'm not sitting here to play mahjong and entertain you. You said you had devised a plan to deal with Rin; it's time to tell us."

His gaze was fixed intently on Kenjaku. Having experienced the agony of a comrade's demise and witnessed Rin's terror, the current Jogo had shed his former volatility, becoming frighteningly steady.

Kenjaku, however, remained unhurried, rubbing the mahjong tile between his fingers, his eyes lingering on the tiles. He was clearly close to Riichi.

Mahito, unable to contain himself, grinned confidently, his tone arrogant:

"What's so difficult about it? We have three Special Grade Cursed Spirits, plus you, a Special Grade Curse User. Can we really not take down one human? In my opinion, we should just attack together and surround him. We can definitely kill him before his stamina runs out!"

"Stop dreaming."

As soon as Mahito finished speaking, Jogo coldly interrupted:

"Forget the four of us. Even if you added four more, defeating that guy would be impossible."

He turned his head to look at the confused Mahito and slowly explained:

"Right now, Rin has subdued at least seven Special Grade Cursed Spirits, five of which possess complete Domains. If we want to ambush him, the few of us here are nowhere near enough."

At this point, a hint of dejection entered Jogo's eyes.

During the last battle at Lake Biwa, he sensed the distant battle fluctuations between Rin and Thunder Beast and Rain Dragon. That world-destroying power still makes his heart tremble when he thinks about it.

Moreover, Rin recently dealt with two newly emerged Special Grade Cursed Spirits. The current Rin's strength far surpasses his imagination.

"But I have a method to guarantee victory over Rin."

Kenjaku suddenly played a tile, the crisp sound breaking the silence. He announced with a smile:

"Riichi."

His gaze swept over the three people at the table, finally resting on Dagon, who was still in a cursed womb state behind the mahjong table. His tone was full of certainty.
