Slowly walking towards the front door, Alan leaned slightly as he looked through the eyehole and looked just outside of his apartment, and there it was, just right outside of his door, a woman was standing, with long black hair that reached her midsection and dark brown eyes.
Outwardly the woman didn't show any signs that something was wrong with her, and eerily, the screaming had stopped almost as soon as Alan had looked through the small hole in the door to check on the outside.
That only lasted for but a brief moment however as in the very next second, the image of the woman before him changed almost completely, her long black hair changed colour to complete white, the tips of the hair somehow starting to levitate upwards whilst the womans skin turned pale as ash, her mouth opened in an exaggerated way, her eyes open so far that it almost looked like they would be popping out of her face… and then the screaming started once more, however this time, it wasn't mindless screaming, it was… words that were being screamed out, though the words themselves were quite mangled, if one tried hard enough they would be able to understand what the monster wearing human skin was screaming about.
"You betrayed me! My dear husband! I Saw you! I Saw you with that blonde bitch by the movies! I did!" The woman monster screamed at the top of her lungs before she started ramming her arms onto the door, shaking it entirely.
By this point, Alan had already taken a few steps back as he looked towards the door with narrowed eyes as his hands slowly lifted up into a guarded stance, his mind already trying to find any way that he could use to defend himself.
'I don't have any objects around me that I could feasibly use for combat, as for my magic it most likely won't do anything and I don't even know if I can use it in the first place considering that the system isn't responding to me. That leaves only one choice.' Alan thought as his expression turned even more sour as the seconds passed by whilst the screaming from the other side of the door increased until it almost had reached a level where any regular humans ear drums would have already burst, thankfully Alan's body had already undergone at least a small degree of evolution or otherwise he would have already been left incapacitated.
'This damn thing is similar to those slimes, though the level of the sound isn't actually at the same level, it's pretty darn close.' Alan thought to himself as he steeled his mind and took a step back with his right foot, solidifying his stance further as his eyes narrowed and then the explosion like sound rang out, he had already anticipated it, the door shattering completely from the blows that the woman transformed monster had given it with its arms.
"Husband! I finally found you… what do you have to say about yourself! Did you! Did you cheat on mee!!" The woman screamed as for a moment her white spiky hair transformed back to its original black colour.
The brief moment where the transformation had been undone caused Alan's eyes to widen as an idea surged into his mind as he stared at the monster before him.
'Could it be that this thing can actually be reasoned with?' Alan thought to himself in slight shock, he hadn't actually expected for the transformation to be reversible at all, however now that he thought about it, the woman had likely been transformed and screaming until he had looked through the eyehole when she had gone quiet once more for a few seconds before transforming again into whatever thing that was now standing before him.
'There's no harm in checking the theory out at least, if it does work, it would just make my job easier, if it doesn't… well I'll be back to fighting for my life which I already am.' Alan thought before slowly releasing a sigh as he slightly straightened his body, his eyes turning slightly more relaxed as he formed the best easy going smile he could on his face as he looked towards the monster. If anyone were to see the current situation that he was in, they would have thought he was completely and utterly insane for smiling at the monster as if he had fallen in love with it.
"Cheat on you my love? That's not even possible, the woman that you saw me with, it was merely just my cousin that came over recently to stay at my house since she's getting into university soon and needed a place to stay for a few days until she can find a place that's renting, I just took her to the movies so I could show a bit of the city to her." Alan spoke with a soft, clear and steady voice as he lifted his left hand towards the monster as if offering it to her whilst he kept giving that soft warm smile on his face that seemed to show only love and affection towards the monster.
The monster… stopped for a moment as its wide eyes seemed to widen even further, though Alan was unsure how they hadn't simply popped out and rolled on the floor by this point and then in the very next instant…. The harrowing transformation that had taken place over the woman, started reversing as the white hair slowly started becoming a dark black and the skin started regaining its healthy pallor.
