Taking the knife in hand, Alan quickly looked around to see just what exactly he could pair with it and at that moment his eyes landed on the vacuum cleaner at the side of the living room, or more exactly the shaft of it.
Walking quickly to the vacuum cleaner whilst still holding the knife, Alan crouched before dismantling the top part as well as the bottom, ripping a part of it until he only had the long circular shaft in hand.
'This could work. Considering that I don't have rope or anything similar.' Alan thought to himself as he placed the knife bottom at the top hole and then he thrust inside with enough force that the shaft cracked slightly however the handle had gone inside, getting stuck in there, making it impossible to pull out without breaking the entire thing.
Getting back up on his feet, he held the new makeshift weapon in hand before completing a set of thrusting attacks forwards as well as a few slashes and then stopping as he held it loosely with one one.
'Yeah, that's good enough. It has reach at least and that means I don't have to get close to those things with monstrous strength. Good enough for now.' Alan thought before he turned and walked out of his apartment and back onto the hallways, it seemed that luck wasn't on his favour as always as his eyes were met with the sight of the same monstrous lady that he had met before, her back was turned towards him and she seemed to be standing still, looking straight down at the ground
Without hesitating for even a moment, Alan rushed forwards with all the speed that he could, this was the perfect moment to test out whether the monsters had increased durability or if it was just some kind of increase in strength.
Now less than five feet away from her, Alan jumped into the air, his hands lifting up as high as he could bring them behind him and then he used the combined force of the jump and his entire body to slash down right on the top of her head with his entire strength.
*Shhckklllkkk*
The knife moved through the body of the monster like water, from the top of the head to the parting of her legs, splitting her entirely in half.
'That… felt wrong.' Alan thought to himself as he watched the lady get split in half, except what he saw inside wasn't blood, organs and bones, it was black, some kind of entirely black liquid that quickly starting sloshing around on the hallway as the entire split body started dissolving into what could only be called black water.
'They're made up of water?' Alan thought in confusion for a moment before his mind wandered back to the dream that he had experienced last night, the shadowy figure, the deep dark ocean all around him. It was in a way… very strangely similar to what the thing in front of him seemed to be made out of.
'Just what the hell is going on around here?' Alan thought as his shoulders dropped slightly, both in confusion and in relief, now that he knew the monsters weren't exactly as strong as their pure strength had made them to be, he relaxed slightly, his guard still remained entirely up however he wasn't as worried about dying as much in a frontal confrontation.
Shaking his head slightly, Alan walked down the hallway towards the emergency stairs before opening the emergency red door, the door released a long metallic creek before he got inside of the stairway and closed it behind him, starting to walk downwards.
As he walked, he noticed the walls of the stairway turning a different shade, from the creamy white to something darker, more crimson, strangely resembling blood despite it clearly just being a normal wall, there was nothing on it that was staining it and when he touched it with his hands, the wall didn't have any layers over it, it was like the paint itself on the walls had changed.
'Strange… and creepy, definitely a lot more creepy.' Alan thought with a sigh however it wasn't like he was afraid, considering everything that he had seen before, from human eating slimes to skinwalkers and vampires, this really wasn't anything special in comparison.
Arriving at the fourth floor, he simply ignored it as he continued walking down towards the third, there was nothing stopping him and he wasn't one to go and look for trouble when the trouble wasn't looking for him.
'Yeah, there's no way in hell that I'm doing what dumb characters in horror movies do. No thanks. If it ain't bothering me, I ain't bothering it.' Alan thought as he finally arrived at the third floor and slowly opened the emergency door leading back into the hallways of this floor.
Walking inside, he moved through the floor freely, just as the security guard had said there was no danger to be seen on this floor, despite the fact that every door was practically broken in and dead bodies missing limbs as well as countless bloody organs were strewn throughout the entire ground.
'Disgusting.' Alan thought for a moment as he felt his gag reflex almost activate at the mere sight of the bodies and the flies that had already started gathering around them, soon enough there would even be maggot eggs if nothing changed.
"Anyone around! It's me Alan, the guy from the fifth floor. We agreed to meet up, I've come to get you! I mean no harm!" Alan shouted as he walked down the hallway, constantly on the look for anything or anyone living.
It was at that moment that a door at the end of the hallway opened and slowly a figure came out from inside of the apartment.
It was a girl, specifically… It was the same girl that he had met on the elevator during his first night here.
'Damn… why does it have to be her.' Alan thought as he sighed at his own luck inwardly.
