Jude carefully moved toward the door
"I think I should really go after her", he said
Scarlett instantly stopped him
"No, you shouldn't"
He looked at her sharply
"Why shouldn't I?"
"I don't think she would want to say anything to you right now", Scarlett said
Jude let out a slight frown
"But she just threatened you with what I don't even know", he said
"I know"
"So why are you protecting her?"
"I am not protecting her...I am just avoiding a sibling brawl between both of you", she said quickly
Then took a brief pause
"And I am just trying to find out what she knows before you get involved", she added
Jude looked at her quietly as he felt that there was something in her expression he just couldn't understand
"Scarlett, you are hiding something", he said
Scarlett's heart skipped a beat
"Me? And why would I do that? I am just trying to understand something", she said as she looked directly at him
Jude remained silent as she walked toward the door
