Madam Tracy broke the silence shakily
"I was looking for what to do many years ago. I had no connections and no money. Then Mr James Brooks saw me one day on the streets and he asked why I was on the streets and I told him I needed a job", she said slowly
Then took a deep breath
"He said he would have given me a job at his company but he was still trying to build it and then he introduced me to Mr Patrick, your father, Jude...…"
They all listened to her carefully
"And he persuaded Mr Patrick to employ me and he reluctantly employed me as his housekeeper in the mansion especially to take care of his children"
She took a brief pause
"And that was how I started working here at the Maguire mansion because of your father", Madam Tracy added as she looked at Scarlett
Scarlett looked at her carefully
"Your father was very kind to me. He spoke to me like I mattered and he would always give me money every time he came to the mansion for my family"
Betty looked down slowly
