The next two days went by in some sort of blur, especially for those in the Student Council. It was work, meetings with either the school's board or among themselves, classes, and more work.
Kim, for one, had totally thrown Lynn and her ever-so-intense gaze to the back of her mind.
Why is she still looking at me that way, though? We've got a lot of work to do!
Kacy, though busy as well, watched the strange, suspicious triangle between three core members of the Student Council.
It's actually quite ironic that they're actually seated in a triangle.
Truthfully, as the Vice President of the Student Council, she sat at the second head seat, facing Kaiden. On her right was Colton, while Kim sat on her left.
Oblivious to how many stares they were getting, both Lynn and Colton stared at Kim, who was trying to complete all her tasks so she could go home earlier.
Her father was becoming more impatient in his dealings, and getting home drunk every day was very hazardous for her ailing mother.
DING! DONG!
Time seemed to be on her side as the bell struck just as she dropped her pen. She let out a deep sigh of relief and quickly started arranging her things into her bag.
She could feel the stares growing more intense because of the cold chill at the back of her neck, but at this point, she couldn't care less.
Not only did she need to see her mother, but she also felt the urge to run home to avoid being cornered by the owners of those intense gazes.

"Chill… You know it's going to take you a very long walk from here to the entrance of the school, right?" Kacy said with a soft smile as she tried to keep up with a very swift Kim.
Kim ignored her and kept speed-walking, which looked funny from where Kacy stood.
Kacy let out a soft chuckle and ran forward to catch up with Kim.
"You were the spotlight today. Is that why you're running home?" Kacy teased.
This time, Kim stopped and turned to her.
Yes, she had been the center of attention, but she hated it for some reason. She could easily tell whose gazes they belonged to, but that was exactly why she was uncomfortable.
Before she could speak, she caught sight of a head of golden locks walking in their direction. On instinct, she tried to run, but Kacy's gaze kept her standing.
Lynn finally reached them, but instead of speaking to both of them directly, she kept her eyes down as she struggled internally for the words to say.
This is so hard! Why is this so hard?!
She couldn't fathom why trying to apologize and get into their good books seemed more like an S-class mission to her.
She looked up and met the eyes of two different people wearing two completely contrasting emotions.
The first was very calm, as always, but there seemed to be some sort of teasing in her eyes. The other, however, was visibly pissed and couldn't seem to tolerate being in the same space as Lynn.
"Are you just going to keep us waiting?"
Kim's voice brought her out of her train of thought.
She was doing it again—thinking too deeply into the situation.
"Umm… I just wanted to say that I'm sorry…" she stuttered.
Kim blinked.
Did she just apologize?!
Kim turned to Kacy for some help, but it looked as if she was enjoying the situation. Her eyes were wide, and if Kim didn't know her any better, she would have thought Kacy was as shocked as she was.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
