Chapter 59 - Bonus Chapter 2: The Wedding (Her POV)

I woke up before sunrise.

Not because of an alarm.

Not because someone woke me.

Because today was the day.

My wedding day.

For a few seconds, I simply stared at the ceiling.

Trying to process that fact.

Then reality hit.

And suddenly—

I couldn't stop smiling.

"You're awake."

Elena's voice came from the doorway.

I laughed.

"Was it that obvious?"

"You've been smiling at the ceiling for five minutes."

Fair point.

The morning passed in a blur.

Hair.

Makeup.

The dress.

A hundred tiny details.

Everyone seemed nervous.

Except me.

Strangely enough—

I felt calm.

Because after everything we'd survived—

This was the easy part.

Loving him had never been difficult.

Fighting for that love had been the hard part.

A few hours later—

I stood alone in a quiet room.

The dress perfectly fitted.

Everything ready.

The ceremony would begin soon.

My heart raced.

But not from fear.

From excitement.

A gentle knock sounded.

"Come in."

The door opened.

And Richard stepped inside.

For a moment—

Neither of us spoke.

So much had changed.

Years ago, this conversation would've been impossible.

Now?

It felt natural.

He smiled softly.

"You look just like her."

I didn't need to ask who he meant.

Mom.

My eyes immediately filled with tears.

"Dad..."

He laughed quietly.

"Let's not start crying yet."

Too late.

For a few moments—

We simply stood there.

Then he handed me something.

A small photograph.

I looked down.

Mom.

Smiling.

Happy.

Beautiful.

The photo had been taken years before everything went wrong.

Before the secrets.

Before the regret.

Before the pain.

Richard swallowed hard.

"She would've been proud of you."

That was it.

My tears won.

Completely.

He hugged me.

And for the first time in years—

I felt like everything was finally healing.

A few minutes later—

Music began playing outside.

The ceremony had started.

My pulse immediately doubled.

This was it.

The doors opened.

And I stepped forward.

The world disappeared.

Not completely.

I noticed the guests.

The flowers.

The ocean.

But none of it mattered.

Because I saw him.

Standing at the end of the aisle.

Waiting.

His eyes met mine.

And suddenly—

Everything else faded away.

Just like it always did.

I remembered our first meeting.

Our first argument.

Our first kiss.

Every obstacle.

Every sacrifice.

Every impossible moment.

And somehow—

We made it.

Together.

I reached the altar.

He smiled.

That smile.

The same smile I'd fallen in love with.

And at that moment—

I knew something.

No matter what happened next.

No matter how many years passed.

No matter how much life changed.

I would choose him again.

Every single time.

The vows were beautiful.

The ceremony perfect.

The tears unavoidable.

Then came the moment.

The one I'd dreamed about for years.

"I do."

Two simple words.

Yet somehow—

They changed everything.

When the ceremony ended—

And we kissed—

The crowd cheered.

But I barely heard them.

Because all I could think was—

We did it.

Against every obstacle.

Against every expectation.

Against every fear.

We did it.

And as the sun began setting over the ocean—

I became the happiest woman in the world.

Not because life was perfect.

But because I was sharing it with him.

And that was more than enough.
