Shawn Morton really couldn't listen any longer. He was so angry, he huffed back to the sofa and sat down.
He wanted to leave right away, but he was unwilling. He had liked Tessa Caldwell for so many years, so why couldn't she see him? He was really heartbroken. Tessa really didn't want him anymore.
He actually wanted to cry, but he felt that as a man, if he couldn't bear even a small setback like this and ended up crying, not only Tessa, but he himself would also look down on himself.
He collapsed onto the sofa and covered his head with a blanket.
His poodle squatted nearby, looking at him with a sympathetic gaze.

In the bedroom, Faye was helping Tessa Caldwell rub her little head and teased, "Your performance was over the top."
Tessa chuckled, "Whether it's over the top or not isn't the point. The point is that as long as the person outside believes it, it's fine."
She lay down on the bed, stretched lazily, "It's finally quiet. I'm so sleepy, I'm going to sleep."
