Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Ms Quincy Lost Her Way

Nancy Sutton returned to the office and dialed her best friend Sean Grant.

"Hey, do you have time lately? I need an assistant by my side."

Sean Grant readily agreed, but he still felt a bit puzzled about why it was so sudden.

So he blurted out and asked.

Nancy Sutton explained the assistant situation in full detail.

After hearing it, Sean Grant quickly expressed his indignation on Nancy Sutton's behalf.

"You should immediately follow procedures and fire her. Such people shouldn't stay long."

"Okay."

Nancy Sutton agreed with Sean Grant's words, and after hanging up, she called the HR person without hesitation.

She let the head of the HR department listen to the recording in her hand. After listening, his face turned pale, and he immediately understood Nancy Sutton's intention.

He respectfully bowed his head and retreated, then issued a notice saying the assistant was fired for spreading rumors and being two-faced.

Upon receiving this news at her desk, the assistant's expression changed, and she suddenly stood up and shouted out.

"Why?"

The girl next to her was sharp, knowing not to help the assistant at this time, or else she would get herself into trouble.

The assistant was burning with anger but remained calm on the surface, packing her things and leaving the company with her head held high.

As if to say, "It's your loss that I'm leaving the company."

Once she stepped out of the company, her face turned grim, and she started swearing under her breath, inadvertently walking into an alley.

Suddenly, two women appeared in front of her: Joy Sutton and Sharon Warren.

The assistant frowned and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Sharon Warren disliked the assistant's tone, as if she owed her millions, and scoffed coldly, turning her head away.

Joy Sutton didn't mind, initiated a conversation.

After a while, the assistant believed Joy Sutton's nonsense, took some money, and planned to threaten Nancy Sutton by jumping off a building.

She intended for Nancy's reputation to be ruined, ideally becoming a street rat everyone hunted down.

Without thinking, she first put her belongings back in her rented apartment and then went back to the company, heading to the balcony.

Her red high heels placed next to the railing, sitting on the rail, clutching it fearlessly, half of her body already leaning out.

Unexpectedly, this scene fell completely into someone's view, as Liam Quincy discovered Joy Sutton's plan to frame Nancy Sutton.

He secretly sent someone to investigate, finding transfer records and plotted events in WeChat accounts of the assistant and the step-sibling.

Liam Quincy looked at the materials in his hand, remained silent for a while, unsure of how to deal with this.

When Nancy Sutton received the call from security, she was stunned for a moment and hurriedly ran to the balcony, immediately noticing the assistant planning to jump.

She privately already called the police, and they would arrive shortly.

Nancy Sutton thought it was crucial to calm the assistant's emotions now to prevent her from doing anything harmful.

"Assistant, please calm down."

The assistant noticed Nancy Sutton's nervousness and felt a sense of triumph, but pretended to cry.

"Chairwoman, how could you falsely accuse me and fire me so easily."

Nancy Sutton calmly followed up on what she said.

"We'll talk about things downstairs."

Soon, a group of police officers swarmed the balcony and began persuading the assistant, who was originally faking suicide.

Not truly intending to die, just acting, she eventually pretended to be moved.

Proactively stepped down, and the police quickly grabbed the assistant's arm, pulling her away from the railing, fearing she might change her mind.

However, before the police could continue comforting the assistant, a walkie-talkie sounded, the closest officer's expression turned unpleasant after listening.

He grabbed the silver handcuffs at his waist, said nothing more, and directly cuffed the assistant's hands.

The assistant was baffled by this action.

The police explained seeing her confused expression.

"We just received a report from a concerned citizen. You're suspected of slandering Miss Nancy Sutton. Please come to the station with us."

Nancy Sutton was also taken to record a statement, and within an hour, the assistant was convicted. It looked like the concerned citizen's evidence was compelling.

Though Nancy Sutton didn't know who this concerned citizen was, she felt grateful inside, thinking if she ever found out who they were, she would surely thank them in person.

After resolving the matter, when Nancy Sutton returned home, she suddenly saw a familiar figure at her doorstep.

It was Ms. Quincy's grandmother, holding gifts.

Nancy Sutton was momentarily puzzled about how Ms. Quincy's grandmother found her home!?

Before Nancy Sutton could hide, the grandmother suddenly turned around, as if by intuition, and saw Nancy Sutton.

Quickly walked over.

"Nancy, you're off work?"

Nancy Sutton awkwardly smiled and politely expressed concern for the elder.

"Would you like to come inside for a while?"

The grandmother didn't hold back and agreed readily, Nancy Sutton helped carry the gifts from the grandmother.

The grandmother looked at Nancy Sutton with admiration for this future granddaughter-in-law.

Upon entering the living room, the grandmother saw Bianca hiding on the sofa.

Wasn't that the six-year-old saying she wanted to be her grandson's girlfriend? Beside her was a boy who looked identical to the girl, presumably twins.

The grandmother narrowed her eyes, observed them closely, and found both had blue eyes.

Just like Liam Quincy, she inexplicably had a feeling.

The grandmother trusted her intuition too much, couldn't help but suspect, they might be Liam Quincy's children.

Seeing the grandmother standing still, Nancy Sutton went to the kitchen to pour a glass of warm water, handed it to her for refreshment.

The grandmother thanked her, became even more convinced that these were indeed the consequences of Liam Quincy's romantic affairs, just that he was embarrassed to tell her.

Nancy Sutton couldn't read the grandmother's thoughts, kindly asked.

"Grandmother, how did you find your way to my house?"

The grandmother chuckled, replied earnestly.

"I got lost."

Nancy Sutton grimaced slightly, lost and found her way to her house?

That was too coincidental, if that were said to a cow, even the cow wouldn't believe it.

Nancy Sutton saw the grandmother didn't want to answer, didn't force her, instead warmly invited her.

"It's almost dinner time, grandmother, why don't you stay for a meal, I can show off my cooking skills."

The grandmother hadn't replied yet, hearing the children behind her exclaim with joy at the mention of their mom cooking.

"Mom is really going to cook? Awesome, mom's cooking is so delicious!"

The grandmother smiled happily, agreed to stay, the children sensibly accompanied the grandmother for a chat.

Nancy Sutton walked aside, secretly picked up her phone, scrolled through her contacts, finally found a number, and pressed the call button.

She needed Liam Quincy to come over and take his grandmother back home, even though she really didn't want to interact with Liam Quincy.
