Ezekiel - god strengthens, or god gives strength, taken from the hebrew name Yechezqel. That is my name, although I do not call myself as such. How could I, after losing faith long ango? Or rather, I simply realized that I never had real Faith. But really, most of us don't.
What we call Faith is but an extension of the wish to be saved, to be forgiven. We pray when times are hard, and have Faith that god will save us when we cannot save ourselves.
Faith is but an extension of our weakness, a medium for our deepest feeling to shine through, without us realizing it.
And yet, people dare pride themselves for being faithful, for being true to god, without even knowing what it means.
And yet, people shame others that do not rely on Faith, that are true only to themselves and show true strength.
And yet, people slaughter others under the name of god, without even knowing who he is.
And yet, people who show real Faith are not congratulated, not helped and not thanked, but rather betrayed, mocked and used.
Now, why is that, I ask? It is because real Faith is not to have Faith in god, but in oneself and others. It is to trust, and to be trusted. It sounds easy, and should be common place, no? From what we know, humans are social beings. Every animal that does not live in solitude knows how to live with others, after all.
And yet, real Faith is the one humans show the rarest.
