Chapter 1 - Unwelcome Beginning

Roberto felt fatigued from all the running he had did a while back. He didn't know why he felt that way as he had already died but it was quite the contrary. He was now alive with his own body.

He then looked ahead of him and saw a blooming landscape full of colorful eye-catching flowers and insects.

Roberto wasn't a flower enthusiast but he had saw enough flowers throughout his lifetime to know that these flowers were completely different from the ones he had saw.

He had suspicions that this was not Earth anymore but his suspicions were confirmed by the herd of sheep at the distance. He saw children of all ages rushing to the gorgeous landscape to play with the flowers and most importantly, the sheeps.

Apparently, the children never saw herds of sheeps before which was strange as they would've been back to the place that died which would've been rural.

Roberto presumed that everyone was transported to places at random which stinged a bit as he loved his family although they all had a great job and slightly depised Roberto for decreasing their family's reputation.

Anyways, the children rushed off to play with the sheeps but this world seemed to be a nightmare as the "sheep's" head exploded revealing a nightmarish set of tentacles with razor blade sharp teeth. The horrifying tentacles sliced the bodies of the children like butter and swallowed the dead children's bodies a whole just like snakes.

There were also children and adults that didn't wander off to the landscape that became horrified by the events they had witnessed. They had just been in hell and was going back to hell for the second time.

Most of the horrified people began running away with all they could but some of the people chose to freeze instead of fleeing.

To Roberto and the frozen people's surprise, the creatures ran past them, basically ignoring them.

The creatures didn't seem to have any eyes or ears which lead Roberto to believe that the creatures uses vibrations on the grounds to detect moving potential food. With that presumption, he immediately stood so still that he got cramps but that didn't matter. He wanted to live.

Roberto later heard the screams of children and the adults from afar, he was thankful for his survival but felt the opposite to people that ran away.

He didn't know any of them but felt guilty for the fact he didn't say anything to them about his discovery. Had he told them his discovery, he could've save most of them but he coped assuring himself that he would've died anyways if he told them.

He and the people stood there frozen for a several minutes before eventually relaxing and laying down the grass. Most of the survivors here had a panic attack afterwards but a few of them were indifferent about the recent events.

The few already experienced hell before and knew that hell will be waiting for them anytime.

Soon, nightfall came and all of the people were anxious to fall asleep as they were paranoid if the creatures would return here again. Roberto assured the people that he'll be on look if those creature returned because he didn't feel like sleeping.

The people were hesitant at first but eventually slept anyways with peace and sounds of nature. Roberto didn't want to sleep because well he was too busy stargazing upon the mystical night sky.

There were three moons, two of them orbiting the largest moon. It seemed that largest moon was blue and green which meant it was habitable. Hundreds of thousands of stars were on the night sky and the night sky itself had a slightly purple hue. It felt like a scenery from a fantasy world.

Wait, it is.

He later followed the people, sleeping without realising it.

— The Next Morning —

They had survived their first day on this new strange world but they didn't have any options on where to go next. It was either wander around not knowing where to go or settle on where they were sitting right now and create a hamlet.

Roberto to them looked clever and smart that would've had a solution to everything but sadly, he was also one of them.

He wanted to live yet didn't know how. He could just wander around the unknown landscapes which could have potential predators and search for a settlement or colony.

He observed the remaining survivors around him and all of them were either too young or too old to create a settlement nor a freaking house.

"Hey people, let's go scavenge for food and resources. We'll venture through this unknown land in search of others besides us and a colony alright?" Roberto instructed the others.

The crowd was hesitant due to the paranoia of those devilish creatures still in the proximity but eventually, they followed his instructions as they didn't have a choice either.

Even if they did have a choice, all of them would've lead them to their demise. An example would be starving to death here in the cold and harsh night.

Surprisingly, there was an abundance of fruits from unusual trees of the purple forest around here. The appearance of the mentioned trees were of purplish coloured leaves and it had no branches whatsoever. It rather resembled more like a mushroom instead of your typical tree.

The fruits instead has the resemblance of the good ol' apple. The color of the apple was also red like it's Earth counterpart.

Although the insides of the strange apple was purple like it's tree, the taste of the apple was of your ordinary apple from Earth.

The younger ones shed a tear munching the apple due to it's nostalgic taste of Earth but mostly everyone didn't care about the taste anymore. To them, it didn't matter if it tasted like excrement. They only cared for one thing and it was survival.

Roberto was curious to why the younger ones were tearing up because they just had been in this strange world for a day but he changed his mind. He didn't have the right to question them.

All of them including Roberto didn't have an item to store these apples so they resorted to using all the capacity of their pockets. Some even went as far to stuff the apples inside their clothes and trousers.

Thank god they were at least gifted with clothes upon the arrival of this world because that indeed would be incredibly embarrassing.

"Alright everyone, we are now prepared for this journey but we should at least craft ourselves some weapons to defend ourselves from wild creatures.

I know we would probably die against those menacing powerful creatures but we had a fighting chance with our weapons." Roberto told them all before venturing.

"It's alright if you don't know how to craft one. Even I don't know! Scavenge for anything that could potentially injure an animal. A branch, a stick, I don't care! What matters is that we must survive this harsh world."

Upon those words, the confidence of the people in a instant were boosted and some had already wandered off to the purple forest to find anything they could find.

He hadn't actually figured out the total numbers of the group so he called in the overly active people that had wandered off to count all of the group. The total people including him in the group was approximately 79 people.

He could've sworn that before the attack of the sheep devils, there had been more of them. It was around the hundreds.

Anyways, the remaining children in the group instead tried to find pebbles and rocks on the ground as projectiles to throw on beasts.

The adults however went in groups of five to craft any kinds of weapon they could possibly create and the results were absolutely pathetic but hey, at least they did their best.

The "weapons" were several poorly made spear which was essentially just large branches that was broken in half. Roberto didn't know how they had found branches but assumed they discovered another section of the forest which had trees with actual branches.

It took hours but they finally regrouped on a random oak tree in the middle of a grassland.

Roberto and the group was about to embark when the sheeplike creature from earlier began darting to the group's direction.

Roberto used all his willpower to inform all the others about what he had observed of the creatures.

The group, upon hearing those words, immediately froze and used every fibre of their bodies to move not a single cm of their bodies.

Roberto and the group braced for impact but that didn't happen as the creatures darted past them. It was preying on another delightful treat.

They heard screams in direction of where the creatures were heading. Some fell to their knees bursting into tears of the second near fatal event they had encountered.

Roberto shouted to the others to move their asses as fast they can and run the nearby hills to their left.

The group finally climbed up the hill and cautiously waited as there would be a possibility that the creatures were still in their killing spree.

They waited for several minutes before finally relaxing enough for them to actually embark on their journey.
