Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Who Is the Man That Got Her Pregnant

Damon Hawke was pulled by his son to sit on the office chair.

The little guy climbed onto his lap and pointed at the information on the computer.

Damon, holding him, glanced at the computer, and upon seeing the information, his brows slightly furrowed.

This information should have been sent to him earlier by Rhun Quinn.

Back then, he thought Elara Don was a married woman, so he didn't pay any more attention.

But it turns out, she isn't a married woman?

Evan Miles isn't her husband?

Damon quickly browsed, his thin lips tightly pursed.

The information showed that Elara Don became pregnant and gave birth four years ago but died in childbirth.

Afterwards, she appeared in Country F, under the alias Charlotte Soo.

She has a son, whose father is unknown.

Three years ago, she encountered the car accident of Evan Miles in Country F.

The two are not married.

She is currently single…

"Dad, Auntie Charlotte is single! You, pursue her."

The baby voice of Dominic Hawke came from beside him.

Damon came back to his senses, closed the information page, and turned the little guy around to face him.

"You want me to pursue her?"

"Mhm."

Dominic nodded emphatically, his big eyes full of brightness.

"You really don't like your mom?"

He'd rather have him pursue a single mom than want his biological mother?

How much of a failure is this Victoria Don as a person?

Dominic shook his head vigorously, "I don't like her! Auntie Charlotte is gentle, Auntie Charlotte smells nice, I like her!"

Elara Don gentle?

Clearly, she's a sharp-tongued woman!

But she does smell nice!

Damon's eyes slightly moved, his gaze falling onto the documents on the coffee table, deep and distant.

Although Elara Don is single, she has a son!

So who is the man who got her pregnant!

At the door, Victoria Don was just about to push the door open, but the words she was about to say got stuck in her throat.

What is the little thing saying?

He doesn't like her?

He only likes Elara Don?

He wants Damon to pursue Elara Don?

Damn it!

Truly the spawn of a wench, just as damnable as his mother!

Victoria Don's face twisted, she turned and left.

Research & Development Department.

Elara Don sat down at her workstation, her pretty face full of frustration.

Just a little more, and she could have seen the little guy's face.

All interrupted by that narcissist!

"Elly."

The man's voice sounded by her ear.

Elara looked up and was met with Victor Miles' smiling face.

"Evan, are you done talking?"

"Mhm."

Evan nodded, "I'm heading back to the company, I'll pick you up after work."

"No need to trouble you, I'll just take the bus back myself."

"It's no trouble, it's settled then."

Evan smiled warmly, "Sweetie is craving your cooking again, tonight you'll have to trouble yourself to cook."

Sweetie, the little darling!

Elara pressed her lips together, momentarily speechless.

She could sense that Evan still had feelings for her.

While she, on the other hand, wanted to keep her distance from him.

Yet each time, he used Sweetie as an excuse, making it impossible for her to break it off ruthlessly.

"Evan, actually…"

"Director, haven't you left yet?"

The man's voice sounded, with a touch of innate arrogance.

Elara turned her head to see Damon Hawke striding over.

His tall and upright figure was like an emperor's arrival, making people stand in awe.

"Mr. Hawke, I'll just say a few words to Elly and leave."

Evan nodded slightly to him, his gaze falling on Elara, "Elly, I'm leaving now, I'll wait for you after work."

Elara's lips curved slightly, which was an unspoken agreement.

Just as she was about to remind Evan to drive carefully, Damon handed the document in his hand to her.

"Charlotte, I reviewed your document; your work efficiency is too poor. At this rate, you're likely to pack up and leave in three weeks. If you don't want that to happen, then work overtime for me, don't embarrass Ryan."

These words were laced with sarcasm!

Elara looked at the man's back as he left after speaking, unable to resist waving a little fist.

Looking down on her again!

Deep down, he was still questioning her abilities, huh?

Just wait and see, she would definitely prove him wrong!

"Evan, I'm sorry, but I probably can't make dinner for Sweetie tonight."

Elara waved the document in her hand, giving Evan an apologetic smile.

"It's okay, I'll wait for you after work."

Evan turned and left, the smile on his face slowly faded away.

A man's intuition.

Why did he feel that Damon's attitude towards Elara was a bit special?

...

As night fell.

The day's work was nearing its end, and the lights in Hawke Tower were gradually being turned off.

In the CEO's office, Damon had just finished a video conference, rubbing his throbbing temples.

The sound of knocking came, as Rhun Quinn walked in carrying a food container.

"Mr. Hawke, you've been busy until now without having dinner, please have some first."

Their CEO worked tirelessly from morning till night, not only managing the Hawke Corporation but also secretly overseeing the Netherworld Organization.

He only got two to three hours of sleep a day, truly overwhelming.

As a subordinate, he both admired and felt sorry for him.

"Mhm."

Damon gave a slight response, watching Rhun open the food container, his long fingers habitually tapping on the table.

"Is there anyone still in the R&D Department?"

R&D Department?

Rhun's hand paused, replying, "When I came up, I saw the lights were still on there, someone should still be working overtime."

Does the CEO want to know about Ms. Charlotte's movements?

Damon's eyes slightly moved, and he got up to walk towards the door.

Rhun: "..."

Boss, are you going to have dinner with Ms. Charlotte?

In the quiet laboratory, Elara wore a lab coat, busy at the workbench.

Her slender fingers picked up a vial of reagent on the bench, held it to her nose, closed her eyes, and carefully appreciated the fragrance inside the bottle.

Her elegant eyebrows furrowed slightly, she shook her head slightly, put down the vial, and took another one to repeat the previous task.

At the laboratory door, Damon watched the woman absorbed in her work, his gaze steady.

A woman working had a unique beauty.

He strode inside, glancing at the messy workbench, his brow slightly raised, "With such a messy workbench, it seems like you're not organized in your work. You'll find it difficult to achieve great things in the future."

The sudden voice startled Elara, who was completely engrossed in her work.

Her body involuntarily trembled slightly, and the reagent in her hand nearly spilled.

She quickly turned around, looking at Damon with a pale face, speaking in a grumpy tone, "Are you a ghost? Walking without a sound! If you scared me into a heart attack, can you afford to pay for it?"

The beautiful eyes of the woman blazed with fire; her fierce stance was like a kitten with its tail stepped on.

Damon's mood inexplicably brightened.

He casually picked up a reagent from the workbench, sniffed it, and carelessly remarked, "Do no wrong, fear no evil. Afraid like this, have you done something shady?"

"You're the one doing shady things! Your whole family does shady things!"
