Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Who Is the Man That Got Her Pregnant

Damon Hawke was pulled by his son to sit in the office chair.

The little guy climbed onto his knee and pointed at the data on the computer.

As Damon held him, he glanced at the computer, and upon seeing the information, his brow furrowed slightly.

This information should have been sent to him by Rhun Quinn earlier.

At that time, he thought Elara Don was a married woman, so he didn't bother to follow up.

But it turns out, she isn't married?

Evan Miles also isn't her husband?

Damon swiftly browsed through the data, his thin lips pressed tightly.

The data showed that Elara Don was pregnant and gave birth four years ago but died in childbirth.

Afterward, she appeared in Country F, under the alias Charlotte Soo.

She has a son, the father is unknown.

Three years ago, she had a chance encounter with Evan Miles in a car accident in Country F.

The two are not in a marital relationship.

She is currently single...

"Daddy, Aunt Soo is single! You should pursue her."

The soft voice of Dominic Hawke rang in his ears.

Damon snapped out of his thoughts, closed the data page, and turned the little guy around to face him.

"You want me to pursue her?"

"Yes."

Dominic nodded vigorously, his big eyes full of brightness.

"Do you dislike your mom that much?"

Would rather he pursue a single mother, not wanting his own biological mother?

How much of a failure is this Victoria Don?

Dominic shook his head desperately, "I don't like her! Aunt Soo is gentle, Aunt Soo smells nice, I like her!"

Elara Don gentle?

Clearly, she was a sharp-tongued woman!

However, she does indeed smell very nice!

Damon's eyes slightly moved, his gaze fixed on the documents on the coffee table, deep and distant.

Although Elara Don is single, she has a son!

So who is the man who got her pregnant?

At the door, Victoria Don, who was about to push open the door, swallowed her words.

What is the little thing talking about?

He doesn't like her?

He only likes Elara Don?

He wants Damon to pursue Elara Don?

Outrageous!

Truly the offspring of a slut, as damned as his mother!

Victoria Don's face twisted, turned, and left.

R&D Department.

Elara Don sat at her desk, her pretty face full of frustration.

Just a little bit more, and she could have seen the little guy's face.

All interrupted by that narcissist!

"Elly."

A man's voice sounded by her ear.

Elara Don looked up, meeting Victor Miles' smiling face.

"Evan, finished talking?"

"Yes."

Victor Miles nodded, "I'm heading back to the company, I'll pick you up after work in the evening."

"No need, I can take a cab back myself."

"It's no trouble, it's settled then."

Victor Miles smiled warmly, "Tilly is craving your cooking again, you'll have to trouble yourself to cook tonight."

Tilly, that little darling!

Elara Don pressed her lips, speechless for a moment.

She could sense that Victor Miles's feelings for her were not completely over.

And she, however, wanted to keep her distance from him.

But every time, he would use Tilly as an excuse, making it hard for her to come clean.

"Evan, actually..."

"Mr. Hawke, haven't left yet?"

A man's voice interrupted, carrying an innate arrogance.

Elara Don turned around to see Damon Hawke striding toward them.

His tall and straight figure arriving like a king, commanding respect.

"Mr. Hawke, I was just saying a few words to Elly before I leave."

Victor Miles nodded slightly toward him, his gaze landing on Elara Don, "Elly, I'm leaving now, wait for you after work."

Elara Don smiled slightly, acknowledging it even without words.

Just as she was about to remind Victor Miles to drive carefully, Damon handed a file to her.

"Charlotte, I've read the file, your work efficiency is too low. At this pace, there's a high chance you'll pack up and leave in three weeks. If you don't want that to happen, stay overtime and don't embarrass Ryan."

The sarcasm was thick!

Elara Don watched the man finish speaking and walk away, unable to help but clench her fists.

Looking down on her again!

Deep down, does he still question her ability?

Just wait and see, she'll definitely prove him wrong!

"Evan, I'm sorry, but I might not be able to cook dinner for Tilly tonight."

Elara Don waved the file in her hand apologetically at Victor Miles.

"It's alright, I'll wait for you after work tonight."

Victor Miles turned and left, the smile on his face gradually fading.

A man's intuition.

Why does he feel that Damon Hawke has a special attitude toward Elara Don?

...

Nightfall.

The day's work was nearing its end, and the lights in Hawke Tower were gradually turning off.

In the president's office, Damon Hawke had just finished a video meeting, rubbing his throbbing temples.

A knock sounded, and Rhun Quinn walked in carrying a lunch box.

"Mr. Hawke, you haven't eaten dinner yet; have something to eat first."

The president had been busy from morning till night, not only managing Hawke Corporation but also secretly running the Netherworld Organization.

Sleeping only two or three hours a day, it was truly exhausting.

He, as a subordinate, truly admired and pitied him.

"Hmm."

Damon responded indifferently, watching as Rhun Quinn opened the lunch box, his slender fingers habitually tapping on the desk.

"Is there anyone still in the R&D department?"

The R&D department?

Rhun Quinn's hand paused, replying, "When I came up, I saw that the R&D department's lights were still on; someone should still be working overtime."

Is the president checking on Ms. Charlotte Soo's whereabouts?

Damon's eyes flickered slightly, rising and heading toward the door.

Rhun Quinn: "..."

Boss, are you planning to have dinner with Ms. Charlotte Soo?

In the quiet laboratory, Elara Don, wearing a lab coat, was busy at the workbench.

Her slender fingers picked up a vial of reagent from the workbench, brought it close to her nose and sniffed, closing her eyes to carefully appreciate the aroma inside the bottle.

Her eyebrows furrowed slightly, she shook her head gently, put down the vial, then took another vial and repeated the process.

At the door of the laboratory, Damon Hawke watched the woman engrossed in her work, his gaze fixed.

A woman at work has a unique kind of beauty.

Striding in, he glanced at the messy workbench, raising an eyebrow, "With such a messy workbench, looks like you're not organized, won't be able to achieve big things in the future."

The sudden voice startled Elara Don, who was focused on her work.

Her body unconsciously trembled slightly, and the reagent in her hand almost spilled.

She quickly turned around, looking pale at Damon, and spat out angrily, "Are you a ghost? Walking without making a sound! If you scare me into a heart attack, can you afford it?"

The woman's beautiful eyes flared with fire, her fierce and defensive posture like a kitten whose tail was stepped on.

For some reason, Damon felt strangely happy.

He casually picked up a reagent from the workbench, sniffed it, and said nonchalantly, "One who does not have a guilty conscience isn't afraid of ghosts knocking. If you're this scared, what questionable stuff have you been up to?"

"You're the one doing questionable stuff! Your whole family's up to questionable stuff!"
