Chapter 8 - IS THIS REAL !

Before the old investors could say something, Karna said, "No, brother, it is in a way a hologram, but it is not just a simple hologram. Now, let me show you what I have created, and the things that will not only destroy the gaming industry of this world but also will make our studio the best and richest in this world."

Everyone became shocked by the bold claim he made. Seeing their faces, Karna just giggled as he then removed a small chip from his shirt pocket. Everyone looked at him as he then put the chip inside the small rectangular box. As soon as the chip was inserted inside the box, a small holographic screen appeared on it, and the box brightened up a little.

He then opened the laptop, which he had placed on the table, and said, "Permission granted..." As soon as he said that, the platform started emitting a bright white light that made everyone cover their eyes for a few seconds as the light was very bright. But then, they all heard a primal roar of some creature.

The roar felt like they were seated in front of a huge and majestic creature because just by the intensity of the roar, they could say that even a mighty lion would fail to deliver such a high-intensity roar. After that, Arjun's voice rang in the room, "What... the... hell!"

The voice sounded extremely surprised and somewhat amazed. Not wanting to miss something, the old investors started to open their eyes, and when they looked at the creature in front of them, their eyes widened in shock. Karna became extremely satisfied by their reaction.

Shekhar immediately stood up from his seat and moved towards the orange-skinned creature who was looking towards the approaching old man with caution in its eyes. He looked towards Karna, who smiled and nodded. After receiving a calm smile from his master, the creature relaxed and let the old man come near it. All this small interaction between Karna and the creature was noticed by all the people.

They didn't expect such living emotions from the creature that was made up of some data blocks. At most, they had expected it to behave just like a normal AI-programmed holographic creature, but they all could see the real emotions in the eyes of this creature. At first, it showed wariness of being approached by some strange beings. Then, after getting a confirmation of safety, its eyes then showed the emotion of calmness.

"Such changes of emotions, Vishwas, have you ever seen any holographic image of these capabilities?" Lucy asked as she knew that in her field of work, she had seen countless AIs, holographic beings, but none had shown this level of realism, even though all those feelings could be programmed into the beings created, and they would act accordingly.

But those things felt artificial; there was always something lacking in those emotions. It always felt fake, but the emotions shown by this holographic creature felt so real. It felt so natural and not just artificially created.

"I know what you want to know, Lucy, but the answer is yes, it's not just some program, it feels so real," Vishwas said in a low tone as he and others observed Shekhar, who had now approached the creature. As he came close, he could see the rough texture of the skin, small orange hair, charred scales, and also the heat which was coming from the tail of the creature.

As he was observing the creature, the Charizard was observing the man who was in front of him. After a minute, their eyes met each other. Shekhar could see the curiosity and excitement in those eyes.

After a long stare, he moved his hand forward to touch the scales of the being. Seeing and feeling no hostility from the man, Charizard didn't make any move; he let the man touch him.

As soon as Shekhar touched the scales, he felt the rough and smooth texture of the scales. Also, he felt warmth from the scales, as if heat was being radiated from the insides. Others also joined him and started inspecting the creature. Even though all of this action made the being uncomfortable, it still decided to remain calm, trusting its power and its master.

"Wow, are you sure, Karna, this being is just a collection of some data because it felt so..." Shekhar said as Rekha completed his sentence, "Real!"

"The skin tone, color, texture, emotions, and also the feeling of life that is being felt by us is so real, Karna. I want to ask, is this a being created by using data or have you found some alien technology?" Vishwas asked as this question came to everyone's mind. Karna, on the other hand, giggled in his mind, as he did find alien technology, but for now, he wanted to keep that a secret. Before they could feel anything, Karna ordered the Charizard to close his eyes. Trusting his master, the being did that, but alas, if only he knew how wrong that decision was.

Karna took out a dagger and cleanly sliced the neck of the being, and unlike the previous time, this time the head fell, and some white light in the form of some data codes could be seen from the wounds. The head of the Charizard disappeared into nothingness as soon as it touched the creation floor, and then after a few seconds later, the body also disappeared into nothingness.

"So, as you could see, this creature is made up of data. I had just made some huge discoveries in this field." As soon as he turned around with the dagger in his hand, he saw the shocked and dumbfounded faces of Arjun and the old investors. Confused, Karna asked, "What?"

"Bro, since when did you become this ruthless?" Arjun asked while rubbing his head. The others had the same thought. Shekhar became extremely furious as to how someone could kill that sweet guy. "Brat, I am sure that you have many ways to prove to us that it is made up of data, but why did you kill such a sweet guy in such cold blood?"

"Old man, why are you overreacting? That creature is a creation of some codes and programs. Why are you being so emotional about it? Anyway, let's come onto the main topics, can we?" Karna said as others nodded. Though Shekhar was angry, he forgot about it as now he had to give his full attention to the discussion.

Seeing everyone listening to him with full attention, he started explaining to them how he thought about it and how he made it. After thousands of failures, he succeeded in making a whole set of machines to make a creature of such complex behavior and emotion. He even showed them the whole process.

Arjun was about to ask him something, but Karna cut him off as he knew what he wanted to ask. "Yes, I did get a patent for this just a day ago."

"So now that I told you everything, start asking me the questions, and I will give you answers because let's clear our minds so that we can focus on the upcoming projects. I am excited to talk with you all on that topic, guys," Karna said with genuine excitement in his voice.

Arjun and the others looked at each other, and then they took a deep breath before unleashing all the pent-up questions that were arising in their minds.

"How did you develop this technology?"

"Do you know what kind of revolution it will bring to this world?"

"Were you hiding your genius brain up until now?"

"Karna, we can become the sole owner of this gaming industry!"

"Forget about the gaming industry, with this technology, we can even end sports and many other industries!"

"That is terrifying. Anyway, what games are we going to make?"

"Is this your response of which game we will be making? Sigh, first we have to look for security. If any other big brand takes notice of this technology, then they will go to any length to destroy us."

"Now that you had said it, it's right. First, we need to have a good backer so that we can't get destroyed by the foreign companies and domestic companies."

"Guys, can you all stop, please? Other questions can wait, but we have to first look for a strong backer. What do you guys think?" Karna asked.

Shekhar caressed his mustache and said, "Yeah, how did I forget about this? Karna, this technology is a boon for us, but for other gaming companies, it is a bane, so it is not a surprise that they will go to any length to destroy us. Hell, forget about the domestic companies, even the foreign companies will try their level best to destroy us. We will become a target of every industry, and other industries may—and a big may—work with us as partners, but the gaming companies, no."

"Yes, old man, you are right; they will go to any length. Hmm, so we need some strong backer who is wealthy and also has authority," Rekha said.

"What about Mr. Elon Musk? He is the richest man in this world and also has strong authority, and I am sure that if he knew about this project and technology, he would give us all the money and support that we required," Lucy said.

"No, he is far superior in terms of wealth and authority to us. We want to be seen as partners and not some workers. Also, there is another reason, and that is he is a private owner who will prioritize his profits first, not caring about the games and emotions. And the last reason is, I want to invest in the growth of my nation first. Don't get me wrong, but I want to give something to this nation and want my name to be written in the history of this nation," Karna said as this was his most desired wish of seeing his name in the history of this nation.

"Aren't you quite a patriotic guy, haha? I can understand your view as to who doesn't want to be seen as a hero in their homeland. Okay, so how about India's richest man, who is also the world's second richest man, Mr. Surya Adani?" Rekha said.

"No, not that guy. I don't want private guys; they just have something about them that makes me uncomfortable. Sorry, I know I should not bring emotions into business, but I can't help it; it's just something that is stopping me from doing it. I hope you all can understand me," Karna said as he didn't know why he didn't want to work with the private guys. He knew they were the best options, and yet he was throwing a tantrum like a small child who didn't want to eat healthy food which looked like shit.

Others just couldn't grasp his emotions and reasoning. Before they could say something, Arjun opened his mouth, "I can understand what you mean, buddy, and I have a perfect idea that will not only give us a very strong backer but also will make you a national hero."
