"She was the only freedom he sought..."
Watching the princess laid out on his bed, Kael could not help but notice how still she was while sleeping. If he couldn't hear her heartbeat, he would've assumed she was dead.
His eyes darted to the glistening mark at the side of her neck, a wave of regret washed over his features.
"Fuck." He grumbled, seeing the mark had solidified his fears, that it wasn't all a dream, he had truly made a wolf his mate.
This sickly looking woman was now his.
He reached for her bruised wrist, as though to hold it but hesitated, he retracted his hand and stepped outside, where some of his guards were stationed.
"Out. Now." He ordered, clearing out the hallway leading up to his chamber.
From a good distance, he picked up on his beta's scent looming around. Through his mind link he asked, "Have you done what I asked?"
