PROLOGUE - KUNG FU PANDA 5: CELESTIAL PHOENIX
EXT. HALL OF UNBOUND MYSTERIES - NIGHT
A cold wind whistles through an ancient valley shrouded in moonlit fog. Hidden deep in the mountains, cradled between sharp cliffs, stands the long-lost Hall of Unbound Mysteries-a forgotten temple carved into the mountain itself.
No one visits. No lights burn. Only silence... until now.
INT. HALL OF UNBOUND MYSTERIES - CONTINUOUS
Pitch black. Then-a soft glow.
A single lantern flickers to life, held by the trembling feathered hand of QUILL, an old duck caretaker with a worn satchel and a curious heart. He walks slowly, cautiously, through the dust-choked air.
His footsteps echo as he steps onto an ancient stone pathway, flanked on both sides by towering gorilla statues-all frozen in different kung fu poses. Silent guardians, staring forever forward.
Only statues. Nothing else.
The air is thick with age and forgotten power. Quill gulps and holds his lantern higher, casting long shadows across the carved stone faces.
As he walks the narrow corridor between the statue rows, the light reveals two final statues ahead-larger, more muscular, their fists crossed.
He takes another step-
CLUNK.
He looks down-his foot has pressed onto a stone pressure plate, hidden in the dust.
RUMMMMBLLLE.
The two large statues ahead grind sideways, revealing a hidden passage between them. Dust billows outward. A gust of ancient air escapes, whispering of secrets never meant to return.
Quill stares, eyes wide, lantern shaking in his grip.
INT. SECRET CHAMBER - MOMENTS LATER
The cave walls are rough, carved by hand eons ago. At its center stands a massive gorilla statue, unlike the others-this one is alive with silent menace, posed in a meditative kung fu stance. In its chest, embedded deep, is a crimson gemstone glowing softly like a sleeping heart.
Quill steps closer, transfixed by the light.
He raises a hand. Trembles.
Touches the stone.
Instant silence.
Then-a deep hum.
The gemstone shatters with a flash of red light, and the statue begins to crack open like an egg. Glowing veins of energy spread from its core.
Quill gasps and stumbles back as stone crumbles away, revealing the real being inside-the resurrected gorilla warrior.
His chest rises with breath. His eyes open-piercing red. Alive. Ancient. Furious.
He steps forward from the rubble. Voice like thunder:
GORILLA (XIAN)
"Time forgot me. But I remember everything."
In a flash of red mist-he vanishes.
EXT. MOUNTAIN VALLEY - SHORTLY AFTER
Far below, a regiment of rhino soldiers patrol the valley, their armor gleaming under the moonlight.
Suddenly-a distortion in the air.
The gorilla appears, silent, in the mist ahead.
The lead rhino charges-raising his spear.
But the gorilla is calm. He steps forward and touches the rhino's chest with two fingers.
CLOSE-UP: A tiny spark of red chi.
WIDE CAMERA SHOT:
BOOOOM.
A circular shockwave of spiritual energy explodes outward, spreading in every direction like a ripple. Trees bend, armor cracks, rhinos are thrown like paper.
The mist and debris rush straight toward the camera, engulfing the screen in a flash of red-
Then fading to black.
