The room was filled with a dim blue glow, illumination coming from the holographic displays and flickering monitors lined up on the walls. The soft hum of machinery filled the air, punctuated by the rhythmic clicking of keys.
A voice came from the shadows.
"Are you sure about this?"
I didn't look up. My fingers continued moving across the console, inputting the final parameters.
"Yes, I've thought about this."
I know it is a gamble, but If we want to save this universe from temporal collapse, we need to find the one who caused it.
I hit Enter, and the system whirred to life, data scrolling rapidly across the screen.
SUBJECT IDENTIFICATION:

I stared at the data, letting out a quiet chuckle.
"Huh? That high? No wonder you caused it."
I smirked, tapping a finger against the screen.
The voice behind remained silent, but I could feel the tension in the air.
"You sure this is the right guy?"
"The numbers don't lie," I said, tapping the screen. "I've been scanning through thousands of records from the Nexus Database, and no one else even comes close. Most people barely register above 5%. But this guy? 98.7%...That's almost unheard of."
"Still, picking someone from that primitive era—"
"Do you have a better option?" I cut them off. "If we want to fix the world, we need someone with raw power. And like it or not, he's the best candidate."
"Start the time machine!" I called out across the room.
A brief pause, then an enthusiastic response.
"Alright! Initializing now!" came a voice from across the room.
I activated the Invis Tech on my suit, feeling the slight pulse of energy ripple over my body as my form faded from sight.
"Make sure not to scare him. People at that time couldn't even accept AI, let alone Invis Tech."
"Yeah, I know. People at that time were stupid," I muttered, adjusting my gloves.
"They were technologically limited. Can you blame them?"
Technological limits or not, I couldn't care less.
"Give him some time and teach him the basics."
"And for the love of science, don't go wearing our lab coat—use the Outfit Changer."
I groaned. Of course, they wouldn't even let me dress comfortably.
I picked up the device, staring at the interface. What am I even supposed to wear? With no clue, I lazily set it to randomizer mode and let it decide for me.
"Why me, though?" I muttered, irritation visible in my voice as I grabbed the Info Injector from the nearby table, gripping it tightly.
"Because you're the one who wants to go."
Ugh. Fair Enough…
"Anyway, don't mess this up. And be back here exactly five minutes after you leave."
Without another word, I stepped into the Temporal Gate of the Time Machine.
The swirling rift pulsed—
And in the next breath, I was gone.
