CHAPTER 10 TRUE INFECTED
Xia slowly raised her head and pushed the already broken pod open. As she stepped out of the pod, multiple sparks shot out from it, startling the dazed Xia.
"Whathappened?" Xia muttered to herself, still dazed and confused, almost as if she had just woken up from a long, exhausting weekend's sleep.
All the memories of what had happened came flooding back, causing a sharp headache.
"Crap," she muttered, pressing her fingers against her head and rubbing her temples as she leaned against one of the other pods. "That stupid Dr. Davis... he injected me with something."
She started looking around, and that was when she gasped in horror.
The beautiful room that had once been filled with bright lights, spotless ceilings, and shining white tiles was gone. In its place were bloodstained tiles, deep scratch marks across the floor, and shattered pods that looked as though they had been destroyed from the inside out.
Xia cautiously walked toward one of the broken pods. Her body tensed as she got closer, but when she finally reached it, there was nothing inside. One thing, however, was clear, the pod had been ripped open by claws.
She inspected the remaining pods. Every single one of them had been ripped open in asimilar way.
"Just what happenedhere?" Xia thought.
She walked up to the door and noticed that it was also open, covered in multiple dents as though something had repeatedly slammed against it.
She stepped through the damaged doorway and glanced around the dark, silent corridor.
Even though it was dark, she could see everything around her perfectly.
"All the doors... they're open. And every one of them has been battered. What happened? I'm starting to think the people in those pods turned into terrifying monsters... Haha, like that could actually happen."she said to herself.Xia quickly laughed off the thought.
She continued walking down the corridor, seeing bloody handprints smeared across the walls and long bloodstains on the floor, as though bodies had been dragged through the hallway.
She kept walking until she reached the main facility, which had once been filled with scientists in lab coats and countless machines. Now, the machines were scattered and destroyed, while the damaged lights flickered endlessly.
The most disturbing sight, however, was the bodies.Well... if they could still be called bodies.
They looked as though they had been mauled to death before being feasted upon. Some were dismembered, but they all shared one horrifying similarity, they had all been eaten. Half-eaten. Torn apart. Covered in bite marks.
Even though the scene was bloody and gruesome, Xia somehow managed to keep herself together.
"Now I'm starting to think that mad scientist really created a zombie virus," Xia thought as she quickly left the horrifying scene and headed toward the exit.
Eventually, she reached the warehouse entrance and saw that the large door was wide open. The sight before her sent a chill down her spine.
The soldiers guarding the warehouse were dead. But what truly frightened her were the figures wandering outside.
They were the scientists in their lab coats... and the soldiers still wearing their uniforms.
However, something about them was terribly wrong.Their eyes glowed a bright yellow. Some had long claws extending from their fingers, while others had unnaturally long tongues hanging from their fanged mouths, with saliva dripping onto the ground.
Xia quickly hid before they could notice her.
"What the... Those things... they're zombies. They really created zombies."
