Chapter 18
Olivia returned to the house panting furiously. She didn't even say a word to Jerome. She wiped her right palm across his left cheek. Jerome was stunned, he held her hand and dragged her into the bedroom.
"Have you lost your mind? How dare you?"
"Why did you leave? You couldn't wait for me. You want to ditch me like the rest of them. What would have happened if I got caught?"
"Don't you dare raise your voice at me, the next time you try that, it will be your last day on this surface. I wouldn't mind sending you to the afterlife." Jerome snapped, his eyes flushed before Olivia. It dawned on her that her actions pushed Jerome to a state she's never witnessed.
"My apologies, I didn't mean to upset you. I got pissed that you left me for dead. This is our mission. This is meant to be unified. We're united, you don't leave me and run off like that." Olivia reduced the tone of her voice.
He didn't want to hit because he would be tagged as a monster.
