Chapter 7 - Heavenly Sage

{Mission initiated!

Mission: Forage for food and water that will last you and your followers for a month.

Rewards: Abilities x1.}

Although it was only a single reward, Eric would gladly take it. Of course, the first mission was still important.

After all, it was inconvenient for him to keep breaking his bone, muscles, and tissue and repairing it. Although it would enhance his body as a result, he still felt uncomfortable if his body could not keep up with his actions.

Once he left the gate, he already saw some wandering zombies outside. Since it was currently noon, they were conspicuous, and their sluggish actions already confirmed their identity.

Eric did not move to kill them yet. He had been restraining himself to instruct Yeobui to show the descriptions and effects of his Title, so he took the chance to satisfy his itching curiosity.

{Title: Heavenly Sage

Descriptions: Once a Heavenly Sage, now reincarnated to a new body. The soul of the Heavenly Sage will affect the new body, thus providing various passive effects.

Effects:

Absolute Physical Optimization – Every movement, exercise, and action is performed at 100% efficiency, maximizing gains in strength, agility, and endurance. Muscle growth, reflex enhancement, and flexibility increase at an exponential rate. You never suffer from overtraining—the body adapts perfectly without injuries, cramps, or exhaustion.

Perfect Energy Conservation – Every movement, breath, and action uses the minimum required energy without waste. Can survive days without food or water by optimizing metabolism. Sleeping is optional—resting for a single hour provides the benefits of a full night's sleep. Your body rapidly rebuilds itself, ensuring peak condition even with limited food or nutrients.

Supreme Regeneration Cycle – The body heals and strengthens itself every moment, even outside of combat. Wounds close, bones mend, and organs repair without external aid. If crippled or maimed, the body will restore itself over time, even regrowing lost limbs. Adapts to radiation, toxins, and viral infections, making survival in an apocalypse much easier.

Eye of the Sage – Watching someone fight once is enough to learn their techniques. Gains muscle memory instantly, meaning no wasted time in training. Every battle increases combat proficiency, making every fight a stepping stone to mastery.

Breath of the Sage – One breath cycle revitalizes the body, removing fatigue and restoring clarity. Can hold breath indefinitely if needed (useful against smoke, gas, or underwater combat). Enhances lung capacity and oxygen efficiency, boosting endurance beyond normal limits.

Mind of the Sage – Enhances cognitive functions to an extraordinary level. Grants 100% efficiency in information absorption, accelerated problem-solving skills, and near-instant comprehension of combat techniques, strategies, and theories. Mental fatigue is significantly reduced, allowing for prolonged periods of learning and battle focus.

Evolutionary Survival Instinct – Passively detects the best escape routes, food sources, and safe locations in dangerous environments. Can read the weather, terrain, and air conditions to predict disasters before they happen. Reflexively dodges incoming danger before the brain consciously processes it.

Last Stand Resilience – When near death, strength, speed, and awareness temporarily multiply to survive deadly encounters. Cannot be knocked unconscious or die instantly unless completely destroyed. The weaker the body, the greater the survival instinct, ensuring a dying Sage can still fight.}

When he read the wall of texts, he was stunned. This is too many compared to Jasper and Andrew! However, what surprised him the most was… Isn't this a heavenly-grade physique I had back in the murim world? I carried it to this body?

The murim world has not always been fair. The famous quote, hard work beats innate talent does not apply. If you were born with a frail body, unless you took a heavenly grade elixir, you will remain a mortal for the rest of your lives–even if you work hard to become a martial practitioner, at best, you are a bodyguard of a wealthy clan.

That was why Ixcahua was recruited by the Murim Leader after discovering his talent.

With this physique, I can last for days without food and water, even if I will constantly fight zombies!

Eric's eyes gleamed with excitement. After having a rough idea of his physique, he now understood his next move.

He knew he could get beyond dozens of Evolution Crystals with his physique.

He recalled his Potential being SSS+. If Potential corresponds to the Title, then it would make more sense. Anyway, if Potential can be evolved, does Title change, too?

As though hearing his thoughts, the system answered, {Yes, it will be. However, the requirements for the potential to evolve are tricky.}

Eric nodded.

Although Eric still has many inquiries regarding the difference between the Murim World and the Apocalyptic Earth, he decided to refrain.

Yeobui, or what he called, System–based on Eric's memories of playing games, was like an ai customer service–it could only answer what it could. He knew the system lacked knowledge about the difference between Murim world and the Apocalyptic world, so he decided to find out the answers by himself.

Right now, what Eric had to do was kill some zombies.

"Why do you think Nicole suddenly lost her mind and bit you?!" Michelle was trembling.

After all, they were just quietly studying on each of their beds, when suddenly, Nicole, who was lying on her bed on the top of the double deck bed, fell to the floor and bit Alina, who was studying below.

Alina's scream halted whatever they were doing as they tried to separate the two. However, they saw Nicole lost her mind and was also attempting to bite Samantha. Thankfully, the four girls were strong enough to push Nicole away and then locked her alone in the room.

They were currently having a discussion outside of their room, and their fear intensified whenever they heard Nicole's growl and her constant banging on the door.

Samantha was holding the doorknob, but perceiving no attempt on opening it aside from banging the door, she lowered her guard down and was staring at Alina with eyes filled with inquiries.

Alina shook her head and said, "I-I don't know. I was as surprised as you!"

She was thankful her friends were present to save her as they were now pressing the wound with a bandage. Zoe has a medical kit, so she was the one who was treating Alina's wound. However, for some reason, Alina felt weird all of a sudden.

"We should call the police!"

"Y-Yeah! You're right!"

Michelle hastily tried to pat her pockets and her expression turned ugly.

"My phone was inside!"
