"Hiruzen, hand Hanekawa over to me!" Danzo Shimura's demand was sharp and unyielding. "He's too dangerous! He might be a spy from the Hidden Cloud Village!"
"He's not," replied Hiruzen Sarutobi, exhaling smoke from his pipe with calm assurance.
"Don't forget the time Kushina was kidnapped by the Hidden Cloud Village!" Danzo retorted, his tone icy. "Hanekawa is an orphan adopted by Nonō Yakushi. He should have joined the Root."
Hiruzen's eyes narrowed. "Are you trying to teach me how to do my job? The orphanage belongs to Konoha, not the Root."
Danzo bristled at the words, unable to suppress his frustration. "Hiruzen, you..."
"Are you saying I'll regret it?" Hiruzen cut him off smoothly. "I won't."
Danzo was momentarily at a loss, his mind fumbling for a response. Damn you, Hiruzen. Is this part of your plan too? Should I congratulate you on learning to interrupt? Those were my lines!
He wanted to declare, 'I should be the Hokage,' but the words wouldn't come.
With a loud bang, Danzo stormed out. After a few steps, he turned back, his voice a growl. "Hiruzen, you'll regret this!"
As the room fell silent, Hiruzen shook his head at the empty doorway. Being an advisor meant arguing back, but being the Hokage required considering many things. "Koharu, get someone to replace the door and charge it to Danzo's account."
Turning his attention to the file on Hanekawa, Hiruzen read: Hanekawa, male, six years old, war orphan, adopted by Nonō Yakushi. During an examination by the Yamanaka clan, he exhibited terrifying mental power. Upon investigation, it wasn't due to any pre-planted spy jutsu, but rather an innate issue. Without any training, his mental power was several times stronger than his peers.
"Nonō Yakushi is Danzo's subordinate; he can't stay in the orphanage," Hiruzen mused. Yin Release represents mental power, like the secret techniques of the Yamanaka and Nara clans, or the Sharingan. But clan secret techniques are never passed on to outsiders. Unless it's a civilian ninja.
"Shinku Yūhi," Hiruzen's heart stirred. Shinku, a civilian jonin skilled in genjutsu, also a teacher for chunin and genin, would be a suitable mentor.

Hanekawa awoke with a start, his body aching as if he'd been trampled by a herd. The unfamiliar ceiling above him prompted an instinctual glance around. Confusion clouded his mind. Where am I? Is this still my room? Where are my Rin Tohsaka, Celestine, Tsunade, and Tifa Lockhart figurines?
As he lay there dazed, memories flooded back. He had transmigrated—or rather, awakened memories of a past life. The good news: he was in Konoha Village. Hanekawa had watched "Naruto," and in the chaotic ninja world, Konoha was relatively safe. If he was careful, he might survive until Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha saved the world.
The bad news: he was a spy from the Hidden Cloud Village. Born there, he'd been chosen as a spy for his intelligence. Now, his first major challenge loomed: an examination. In Konoha Village, the Yamanaka clan's secret techniques could make corpses talk, let alone the living. But during the exam, he fainted.
Had he been exposed? The fate of an undercover agent is well-documented in "Infernal Affairs."
Suddenly, lines of text appeared before his eyes:
[System loading.]
[You have loaded the Ninja Entry System.]
[By meeting specific conditions, you can obtain corresponding entries; certain special entries can be deduced and synthesized into higher-level entries.]
[Entries are divided into E, D, C, B, A, S levels; there are three main categories: Ninjutsu, Ninja Tools, and Talent.]
"Huh?" Hanekawa's eyes widened. His cheat had finally arrived. As a ninja without a bloodline, secret techniques, or a clan, surviving was tough. Now, there was hope.
Hanekawa examined the system, finding it simple, with just one entry panel displaying his obtained entries.
[A-rank Talent Entry: Infiltrator.]
[Trigger Condition: Beginner's Gift Pack.]
[Effect: Unless you actively expose yourself, your memories cannot be probed by others.]
[Note: Cannot be synthesized.]
Great. A classic beginner's gift pack. Hanekawa sighed in relief, now freed from the fear of the Yamanaka clan's probing.
[C-rank Talent Entry: Innate Full Soul.]
[Trigger Condition: Fusion of Two Souls.]
[Effect: Increases Yin Release talent by 100% from its original base.]
[Note: Cannot be synthesized.]
Hanekawa fell silent. Yin Release was tricky. Without the Sharingan or a clan's secret techniques, should he learn genjutsu? But genjutsu ninjas, like Kurenai Yūhi, couldn't compare to the Uchiha clan's casual eye activation.
For now, he had to eat. Hunger gnawed at him, reminding him of his current state. "Damn! My holy sword!" He remembered staying up late playing dueling games before transmigrating. What if his phone was hacked open? The thought made him blush.
The door creaked open, and Hanekawa looked up instinctively. A girl stood there, delicate and jade-like, her ruby eyes striking against her pale face.
"You're awake?" she asked with a smile. "I'm Kurenai Yūhi."
"Hanekawa," he replied, relaxing at her friendly demeanor. So, it's Kurenai Yūhi. In the original story, she married Asuma Sarutobi and became a widow.
"Can you walk?" Kurenai asked, pausing. "I'll take you to see my dad. He'll explain everything."
"I can walk," Hanekawa said, getting out of bed. He calculated silently. Kurenai Yūhi's father, Shinku Yūhi, wasn't a subordinate of Danzo Shimura. As a genjutsu jonin, he was likely commanded by the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi.
Kurenai led him through the corridors, and Hanekawa felt a flicker of hope. Compared to Danzo, Hiruzen was kind and benevolent, not the type to place a curse mark on private parts like the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal.
