Chapter 6 - 6

"You little brat, let me go now, I'm your mother."

Madam Luo was being held tightly, with something pressed against her neck. She didn't dare move. Nothing was more important than her own life.

At this moment, she was truly scared. She never imagined this little wretch would actually dare hurt her!

"You actually dare to kidnap your own mother? This is outrageous! Someone come beat her to death with sticks!"

Mr. Lu didn't believe Avery would kill. He still ordered the bodyguards to go forward. In this house, there was no one he couldn't control.

"No..."

"No."

Madam Luo and July shouted at the same time.

Madam Luo's legs were trembling. She couldn't take the risk. What if Avery had really gone crazy? She didn't want to die.

She didn't know what Avery had taken to make her so strong today. She couldn't even move.

"Dad, don't act rashly. Mom is still in her hands."

July didn't dare let anything happen to his mother. If something did, his father would definitely remarry.

If a stepmother came, then his position as the eldest son would be at risk.

"Sis, how can you do this? That's our mom. Don't you have any conscience? Let go of her already."

Rose didn't want anything to happen to their mother either. Even though their father treated her well, if he remarried and the new woman was mean to her, it would be a disaster.

She never dreamed that this weak and useless girl would dare to hold their mother hostage today!

"Mr. Lu, you don't acknowledge me as your daughter, and I don't want a father like you either.

But if you want to kill me, then not only your wife's life, even your life—I'll take it. If you don't believe me, try it."

Avery pushed the fork a little deeper into Madam Luo's neck.

She stared straight into Mr. Lu's eyes. If he gave the order again, she wouldn't hesitate to kill the woman in her hands and then go after the next one.

"No, Dad, we've never made her identity public. Just let her leave.

From now on, we cut all ties with her. There's no need to put Mom at risk."

July was anxious and tugged at his father's hand.

"Fine. Avery, let go of your mother. I'll let you leave.

But if you ever help outsiders to ruin the Lu family's name again, I will not forgive you."

Mr. Lu had just finished angrily when he saw her eyes, sharp as knives, filled with a murderous aura.

It felt like those eyes could become real blades and kill anyone. He couldn't look directly at her or get close.

He shivered. Since when did this daughter become so terrifying?

"No. I want you both to write a formal letter to cut ties with me, and also give me my household registration booklet.

I'm not just cutting ties with you—I want my name removed from your household too.

Don't worry. I don't want your money. I find it dirty."

What Avery was most grateful for now was that her body had just turned 18 today.

Now that her birthday had passed, she was legally an adult. She didn't need a guardian anymore.

"Fine. But from now on, you're not allowed to tell anyone you're related to the Lu family."

Mr. Lu steadied himself. He must have imagined it earlier. There's no way a little girl like her could scare him.

"I never will. But if you ever try to claim any connection with me in the future, then remember what you said today.

Or don't blame me for being ruthless."

Avery's space was filled with valuable things. She didn't care about the Lu family at all.

She had over a thousand square meters in her space, and now, the rest was full of gold, silver, and jewels.

After living in the apocalypse for over 20 years, most of the food was gone.

When she searched for supplies, she found things in banks or antique shops.

Anyway, she had put all the valuable things into her space.

The reason she had less food later was because the time inside her space was the same as the time outside.

After a long time, a lot of the food became inedible, so in the end, only the gold beads were left in her space.

Another important reason was that this country, Longqi, hadn't developed much yet.

It was about the same as Huaguo in 2010. There was still a lot of room to make money here.

Even though she was young when the apocalypse came, she had seen many things.

"Here, it's done."

July wanted to rescue his mother quickly, so he finished writing the severance paper right away.

"Have your father sign and put his fingerprint on it. You and your sister too. I don't want anything more to do with your family."

Just writing a few words wasn't enough. Without signatures and fingerprints, it wouldn't count.

"Dad, hurry up. Let's settle this quickly and get Mom out."

After July signed and pressed his fingerprint, he immediately handed it to his father.

"Hmph."

Mr. Lu snorted, but he still signed and left his fingerprint.

"Make sure to include every single one of them. I don't want trouble in the future."

Avery glanced at Rose.

"Sis, I'm no threat to you."

Rose didn't say anything, but she also took the paper and signed it, adding her fingerprint.

She'd let her go for now. But if she ever dared to help the Zhang family against them, she'd have to be eliminated sooner or later.

"Now let my mom go. We did everything you asked."

July was really anxious seeing his mother's neck still bleeding.

"Don't worry. Once we reach a public area, I'll let her go. As long as you all leave me alone, we can live peacefully."

There were still dozens of bodyguards in this house. Even though she had powers and was stronger than most people, her ability was still too weak. It was better to be cautious.

"Alright, step aside."

July quickly told the bodyguards to move. They were useless anyway. So many of them were there, yet his mom still got caught.

"Send someone to my room to get my backpack."

Avery was dragging Madam Luo out, but she hadn't forgotten that the original host was still in school.

Besides, she herself had never gone to college before. She wanted to experience it.

"We're at the entrance now. Let her go. If we go any farther, other families will see. That'll be bad for our reputation."

As soon as they got to the entrance, Mr. Lu told her to release Madam Luo. If they went farther and were seen, it would be hard to explain.

This area was home to officials and top rich families.

"Fine. Give me what I asked for."

Avery looked around. The place was already wide open. Even if they wanted to catch her, it wouldn't be that easy.

July quickly handed over her backpack, the severance paper, and the household registration book, asking a bodyguard to pass them to her.

"Now it's your turn to sign. Don't try anything. Your neck is still bleeding. If I push this fork in a little deeper, your artery will be cut."

Avery took the backpack and slung it over her shoulder, then handed the severance paper to Madam Luo.

Without her signature, the paper was useless.
