Chapter 7 - 7

Avery took the severance letter and looked at it. Good, it had both the signature and fingerprint.

"I saw cruelty in your eyes, Madam Luo. If you dare come bother me again.

I won't cut your neck, I'll cut your face.

Because I want to test something, to see if Mr. Lu will still want you after you're disfigured. Hah."

Avery stabbed the fork straight into her hair, stepped back a few steps, then turned and walked away quickly.

She had psychic abilities. Even with her back turned, she could clearly sense people. If anyone tried to ambush her, she'd make sure they wished they were dead.

"Mom, are you okay?"

July ran over quickly to check on his mom when he saw she was safe.

"Son, we have to find a way to kill that little brat. I was so scared just now."

Madam Luo had really been frightened. When her son came over, she collapsed into his arms.

Her legs were still trembling so badly that she couldn't even stand up.

From now on, no matter what, that little brat had to die. Otherwise, she'd never be able to let it go.

"Don't worry, Mom. She has no power or influence. Killing her will be easy.

Let the family doctor take care of your wound first. Your neck is still bleeding."

July quickly helped his mother into the house.

The family doctor immediately opened his medical kit and began disinfecting and stopping the bleeding.

"This is outrageous. She's just a daughter and dares to hurt her own mother. Completely lawless."

Rose saw the wound on her mother's neck and got scared too.

All the more reason that woman couldn't be allowed to stay. What if one day she turned on her?

"Qin Lan, send someone to follow her. See where she goes next and who she meets.

I want to know her every move. If she does anything that threatens the Lu family, get rid of her immediately."

Mr. Lu gave orders to his assistant. That brat really pushed him too far today.

If he had known this would happen, he never would've taken her back in the first place.

"Yes."

Qin Lan responded and left with a few men. No matter what happened, he only followed his boss's orders. Right or wrong didn't matter to him.

Avery walked for a long time before reaching the entrance and exit of the villa area halfway up the mountain.

"Young lady, you can't sit here. Are you going out or coming in?"

The security captain saw her sitting at the gate and walked over to ask.

He had seen this girl before and knew she lived in the area.

So he didn't try to kick her out, but she couldn't sit near the security booth. It was against the rules.

"I'm going out. I was kicked out by the Lu family. How can I get to the city?"

She had ridden here earlier and it had taken at least half an hour. If she had to walk back, she'd be exhausted.

Avery wanted to ask if there was any free transportation.

"The Lu family. Why did they kick you out? Did you steal something? Or did you make them mad somehow?"

Another security guard overheard and got excited, also sitting down.

For them, the biggest fun was gossip.

Especially since this was a rich neighborhood, every bit of gossip was juicy.

"No, none of that. Sigh, it's a long story. They won't even let me talk about it."

"If you really want to hear the gossip, that's fine. I have other ways to tell you.

But… can you help me with something? I don't have any money right now. Can you lend me some money for the bus and a meal?"

Avery blinked her big eyes at them, looking full of hope.

"Okay, as long as what you tell us is the truth, I can give you 50 yuan."

One of the security guards got interested. In such a high-end place, their salaries were pretty good, so a few dozen yuan wasn't a big deal.

"I'll give 50 too. 100 yuan should be enough for your ride and meal."

Another guard who was at the pavilion walked over.

Avery felt 100 wasn't enough, so she looked at the security captain and another guard.

"Alright, I'm not interested in your gossip, but I can give you 100 yuan.

Just don't cause any trouble here. These days, I'm kind of afraid of young people like you."

The captain took out 100 yuan and handed it to her. Gossip wasn't worth more than his job, and his job came first.

This little girl had lived here for two years. He didn't see her often, but sometimes she'd show up.

Seeing how pitiful she looked, giving her 100 yuan didn't really matter.

"Captain, you're so generous. Thanks!"

Avery quickly took the money and smiled gratefully at him.

"They both gave 50 too, so you have 300 now. Hurry up and tell us."

The guard sitting next to her was getting impatient. They couldn't sit around too long.

If someone from inside saw them like this, they'd be fined.

"I made a promise with Mr. Lu. I can't talk about it.

But you can read it yourselves. That way, I'm not breaking the promise. Hehe, looks like I'm pretty smart."

Avery took out the letter of severance and handed it to them so they could read it themselves.

She knew they were dying to hear gossip, so she let them enjoy it. It was also a good way to get some cash from them.

Even though she had valuable things in her space, they couldn't be turned into money that quickly.

She needed money now for travel and food, so she let them handle it first.

"Yeah, you're really smart."

One of the guards even gave her a thumbs-up, but when he looked at the paper, he was shocked.

"Damn, it's a severance letter! What the hell! His real daughter and he still cut her off?"

Another guard saw the words and cried out in shock.

"Keep your voices down! Don't you want to live?"

The security captain looked at the paper too and quickly told them to be quiet.

He tugged at them and told them to go back to the guard station.

This kind of stuff involving the Lu family wasn't something they should get involved with. It could bring trouble.

Small gossip was fine, but something like this, better not to know too much.

"Didn't expect you to be the eldest daughter of the Lu family! Sigh, anyway, here's your letter back. Just pretend we never saw it.

I promised you 50 yuan earlier. I'll give it to you now."

The guard quickly returned the letter to Avery.

He took out 100 yuan from his wallet and stuffed it into her hand, not even asking for change, then stood up and walked away.

The eldest daughter of the Lu family, ending up like this, it was really sad.

The others quickly gave her the money too and left.
