Chapter 235 - DULK: Chapter 235

"Riser Phenex has lost his fighting capacity and is out of the game. I declare the winner of this match to be Miss Rias Gremory."

Riser's body vanished mid-fall, and Grayfia's cold voice echoed once more.

"Brother actually lost… the Phenex flames were defeated by frost." Ravel spoke, her eyes vacant.

"Naturally. My Pawn is the strongest." Rias said triumphantly.

"Mr. Arthas is amazing…" Asia, clasping her hands, wore an expression of utter admiration.

Shortly after Grayfia's announcement, the battle zone slowly dispersed, teleporting Arthas and the others back to the main hall.

Facing the victor of the Rating Game, the devils in the hall remained eerily silent; there were no cheers, no shouts.

Only the Phenex family appeared awkward, having suffered a defeat by a force deemed impossible, unthinkable.

The proud flames of the Phoenix, frozen by frost.

"Congratulations on your victory. I… I need to go see my brother."

Ravel offered a strained smile, addressing Rias. Losers of Rating Games were immediately sent for emergency treatment after being transported out of the battle zone.

"Mm."

Rias nodded lightly. While worried about Akeno and the others, as the victor, she couldn't leave so easily.

"Asia, you should go too. Your divine artifact's power will surely be useful."

Asia nodded and followed Ravel. The atmosphere in the hall was unsuitable for the young nun; the thought of being surrounded by devils made her legs tremble slightly, despite being a devil herself.

"What a shame. It seems this wedding is off."

Sirzechs, Lucifer, broke the silence, offering a wry smile and apologetically addressing the Phenex family head.

"No… we, the Phenex family, accept our defeat. Rias has a remarkable familiar." The Phenex family head also smiled wryly.

Though the wedding was called off, the banquet continued.

Rias and Arthas became the center of attention, with devils showering them with praise, commending Arthas's strength and congratulating Rias on finding such a powerful familiar.

No one mocked Riser, even in defeat; he'd risked his life to defend the Phoenix's honor.

Rias was accustomed to such scenes, but Arthas was not. He struggled to answer the devils who approached him with questions.

Most were curious about the origins of Arthas's divine artifact; others sought to cultivate a relationship with him.

Rias's attitude was clear; this promising newcomer might marry the Gremory heiress.

Arthas was on the verge of losing his patience when Rias intervened.

Seeing the Gremory heiress's displeasure, the devils wisely dispersed, allowing Arthas to breathe a sigh of relief.

"Go rest. You worked hard for me. I'll handle these people."

Smiling slightly at Arthas, Rias said. He nodded, relieved. Arthas preferred quiet; he now regretted not leaving with Asia.

Arthas found an empty corner, sat down, and slowly savored a drink. Meanwhile, Rias, in the center of the banquet hall, exuded an air of regal pride.

She was born for such a stage, destined to command attention.

As Arthas reflected on this, he felt someone sit beside him. He looked up and saw Souna's somewhat melancholic expression.

"Ah… Souna-senpai, what a coincidence."

Arthas began awkwardly. He understood Souna's feelings; he'd been Rias's showpiece familiar, while she, also his master, could only watch from the sidelines.

"Call me senpai."

Souna whispered, indicating that revealing their familiar or sibling relationship was too risky. Explaining it would be far too troublesome.

"Sorry… senpai."

Arthas rubbed his nose, embarrassed. Souna smiled faintly, seemingly unconcerned.

"It's alright. It was a beautiful battle, Arthas. I'm proud of you."

"If someone forces you into a marriage… I'll be your familiar, standing before you to repel your enemies."

"Don't say such foolish things. Keep your identity secret. And… anyone who dares propose to me must be tired of living."

Souna smiled, a hint of amusement in her eyes. Arthas was slightly confused.

He was unaware that Souna's sister, Leviathan, one of the Four Great Satan Kings, was notoriously overprotective of her sibling.

Proposing to Souna was essentially signing one's own death warrant.

As Souna reached out, seemingly to touch his forehead, Arthas felt a surge of emotion. He gently took her hand in his.

Souna blushed, instinctively trying to withdraw her hand, but she failed.

"Don't be silly… so many people are watching!"

"It's okay… no one will see. And… I want to give you some compensation, Souna-senpai."

"Wh… what compensation? What are you saying?!"

Souna was too embarrassed to look up. As they were about to continue their interaction, a shadow fell over them.

"Boy… what are you doing?"

An icy voice cut through the air, making both Arthas and Souna involuntarily shiver.

"Si… sister!"

Souna was startled, quickly pulling her hand away from Arthas.

It's over… She saw us! Arthas, you idiot, how are we going to explain this?

Unfazed by Souna's sister's arrival, Arthas, having taken advantage of the situation with Souna, maintained a calm demeanor, offering a humble smile.

"Pleased to meet you, Lord Leviathan. I am Arthas, a Pawn of the Gremory family."
