Chapter 8 - ...Disaster

As he went for an overhead strike with all of his strength, I tossed aside my Zweihander and caught his greatsword with my left hand. The ground underneath us shattered, and my aura didn't budge. Neither did my arm after I caught the blade. The students who were yelling and demeaning me were struck silent.

.

"Your form is sloppy," I calmly stated, as I then threw him and his sword back. "You have decent foundations and footwork, but other than that, you are sloppy in execution."

.

As Dachi stumbled back, I was upon him after grabbing my Zweihander. Copying his form and swinging with far more fluid movements. Daichi fought back, but against a far more experienced opponent, he was overwhelmed. By the time his aura hit the red, he was sweating and trembling. With a final strike that he caught with his blade, he was thrown out of the arena and his sword shattered.

The students were stunned. They weren't expecting me to show how far apart in skill someone could be using the same style. It didn't help that Daichi was one of the strongest second-year students. So the shock of it all was scary to say the least.

.

"You're good, but you need to know that everything you fight either WILL or TRY to kill you," I stated as Daichi stared at the shattered blade in his hand. " Let this be lesson two: 'Know when to fight and when to retreat, you only got one life.'"

.

As I spoke, I walked over to Daichi and held a hand out to him. Seeing as he understood that the match was over, reached out and grabbed my hand. As I pulled him up, I took a look at his sword, Fulcrum, and sighed. I remember my first sword breaking on me when I first fought against Margrit the Fell Omen. It may have been a normal Broadsword, but it was the first one of many that I had found and used. He still had the broken sword in his bottomless bag.

.

"That sword of yours, Fulcrum, is it?" I asked, and he nodded, "Find me in the forge later and I'll reforge it for you."

"Thank you," Daichi spoke as he still stared at his broken sword.

"Don't let this loss affect you," I spoke once I saw he wasn't all there, "Learn from it, and grow stronger because of it. I can't count the number of losses I have accumulated during my journeys. So trust me, any battle you can walk away from is a victory for you."

"I shall take your words to heart," Daichi said after thinking them over, "There is much wisdom in your words."

"Not wisdom," I corrected, "Experience. Wisdom is knowing when to fight. Experience is how the fight shapes you."

.

With that demonstration out of the way, the rest of the class went smoothly. Several students saw that I was humble about winning and was willing to teach all that I learned from my travels. However, they were a bit fearful after my fight with him.

But that was neither here nor there; he still had a class to teach. Soon the class with the second years was over, and the third years came and went. Surprisingly, the third-year class had fewer than three teams total. Curious, I asked Glynda why this was the case. Apparently, after the second year, the third year, and the fourth year, practice outside the Kingdom and take missions regularly. So those who were absent were out on a mission or at another academy.

Nodding, I did the same thing with the second year and chose a student at random. After our fight, the girl whom I fought wielded a sword/whip, fought aggressively, but lost as I was just more experienced. I gave her a few words of encouragement and sent her on her way.

It was when the First-years came in for class that the disaster struck. A cocky teen named Cardin Winchester, a loudmouth braggart, strutted in like he owned the place. Along with his team, who were already expelled since yesterday.

.

"MR. WICHESTER," Glynda raised her voice, "YOU AND YOUR TEAM WERE EXPELLED! WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!?!"

"Well, Ms. Goodbitch," He said, which nearly caused Glynda to fly into a rage, "The Council decided to reverse my expulsion along with my team. And if you think that the last stunt you and Ozpiss pulled will happen again, the council is in the process of replacing him as we speak."

"THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE!" Glynnda shouted and readied her weapon, "THE COUNCIL HAS NO POWER TO DO SUCH A THING!"

"They might not, but the board of directors do," He smirked.

.

Seeing as this was going to be a blood bath one way or another, I stepped in, donning my helmet as I did so. I knew how the council worked thanks to Ozpin, and it wasn't hard to figure out that they put pressure on the Board of Directors.

.

"I'll say this once, leave," I spoke coldly, my tone scaring those who could hear it. "And I'll let you leave this place in one piece." As I said this, I drew a blood-red Katana that seemed to drip with blood.

"You think I'm scared of you?!" Cardin shouted, then chuckled. "I brought you something as well, bastard." Then he snapped his fingers, and mercenaries rushed into the arena. Their weapons pointed right at me. "Thirty of us, against the two of you. Are you willing to try your luck?"

"Glynda, get out of the arena," I spoke as I raised my sword above my head.

"You can't be seriously thinking of taking them on by yourself?!" She asked.

"I'll be fine," I said as I steadied my breathing. "I'm gonna go all out. Arrogant pieces of dung don't deserve to live or limbs."

.

The air seemed to chill at my words, and the students in the seating of the arena felt the Reaper at their throats. The arena was gonna be a battlefield called Bloody Hell, before long.
