Chapter 1 - The Lost Love

In a magical world of swords and spells, adventurers roam far and wide. They hunt for ancient treasures or seek new secrets. Danger lurks everywhere. Some monsters are just stronger beasts. Others evolve into something far more deadly.

At the edge of the kingdom, near a strange forest, a small town buzzes with activity. A new team of adventurers prepares to explore the forest. They check their gear and steady their nerves.

"Lina, people say odd things happen deep in the forest. Be careful out there," a boy in a black robe warns. A sword hangs at his waist. He is not tall, but his sharp gaze and slim build give him a striking charm. His name is Eric. Youthful energy shines in him, but worry clouds his face as he looks at his team.

"Eric, you worry too much. Wait for our good news," a girl in a tight green dress replies with a playful smile. A short sword rests at her hip, and a slender bow sits on her back. Her light green hair and pointed ears mark her as a forest elf. Her name is Lina.

"I cannot join you this time. Stay safe," Eric says, his voice heavy with concern. His care for Lina is clear. They met as adventurers and fell in love over time. Their bond grew strong despite the challenges of a human-elf romance. People admire their love.

Today, Lina heads into the forest with her team. Eric stays behind, tasked by the town's mayor to forge weapons. Lina sees Eric's worry and steps close. She kisses his cheek softly. "When I return, let us get married," she whispers with a sweet smile.

"Married?" Eric's eyes widen in shock. Before he can respond, Lina laughs and joins her team. They march toward the forest, leaving Eric stunned, replaying her words in his mind.

A week passes. The quiet town carries on as usual. Roars echo from the forest now and then. Inside a small house, Eric sits alone. He holds a photo of him and Lina together. His hand shakes as he grips it tightly.

"I have to find them," he says, standing suddenly. He grabs his sword from the wall and puts on his black adventurer's robe. No excitement fills him. Fear drives him now.

Lina's team planned a three-day trip, but a week has passed with no sign of them. At first, Eric thought they were delayed. As days dragged on four, five, six, seven his heart sank. On the seventh day, he cannot wait anymore. He takes his sword and heads to the forest at dawn.

* Lina, please be safe, * he thinks, his heart racing.
