Chapter 4 - A New Ally

Michelle quickly entered the vent before Huggy Wuggy grabbed her. After Michelle went down a slope, she turned her head to the back while sprinting. "A toy company had something like that this entire time...!" she said before looking forward. "How the fuck did they get away with it?!"

When Michelle went up the slope, she saw Huggy Wuggy on the other side, which made her scream and quickly turn right. "Shit, shit, shit; this is not how I'm gonna die!!" she shouted.

When Michelle spotted Huggy Wuggy at the top of the slope, she turned left before going down a different slope.

Soon after, Michelle fell through a hole before sprinting forward and going down a long slope. When Michelle stopped, the path ahead of her was destroyed, which made her panic. "Shit, not good," she said.

Michelle spotted a pathway on the right before taking it. While Michelle was sprinting, she could hear steps behind her getting a bit closer. "I need him to lose track of me," she said.

Michelle saw light from a partially opened vent on her left side before crouching and quickly entering it. After Michelle landed on the ground, she sprinted forward and took a right.

Before Michelle ran forward, the vent door suddenly closed in front of her, which made her eyes widen. "No!" she shouted.

Michelle heard the steps getting closer on her right side, which made her panic, and she hit the vent door a few times with a clenched fist. "C'mon, damn it; open up!!" she shouted.

Before Huggy Wuggy could get close, the vent door opened, which made Michelle sprint forward before he grabbed her. After Michelle went down a slope, she saw a dead end, which made her panic. "Shit!" she shouted before looking around. "What do I do now?!"

When Michelle looked up, she spotted a large box above her before aiming both arm cannons at it. "Maybe I can use the box to slow Huggy down," she said before pulling the triggers.

Both hands shot forward and grabbed the large box before Michelle pulled the triggers again, pulling it in the process. "C'mon, c'mon!" she shouted.

After Michelle pulled the box, Huggy Wuggy sprinted toward her, which made her eyes widen. "Watch out, Huggy!" she shouted.

Huggy Wuggy suddenly stopped and looked up, which surprised Michelle, before the box hit his head, destroying the conveyor belt under them. When Michelle landed on the catwalk, she looked forward and saw Huggy Wuggy lying on the railing.

Michelle stared at Huggy Wuggy while trying to catch her breath. I don't understand; if that statue were supposed to be some kind of machine, it would've just continued charging toward me, and yet... it listened to me... she thought.

As Michelle squinted at Huggy Wuggy, she noticed crimson red staining the blue fur on his head, which made her eyes widen in distraught. Is that... blood? she thought.

Michelle remembered the dried red stains at the gift shop, the power room, and the warehouse before letting go of the arm cannons and covering her mouth in horror. Then that means... he's not made out of machinery; he's a living creature... she thought.

Huggy Wuggy started sliding off the railing, which made Michelle flinch and quickly sprint toward him. "No!" she shouted.

Before Huggy Wuggy could fall, Michelle wrapped her arms around his right arm, dragging her feet in the process until her body stopped on the railing, and she kept him in place, struggling.

Huggy Wuggy screeched at Michelle, but stopped when he saw tears in her eyes, which surprised him. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to hurt you..." she said. "I only wanted to slow you down; I..."

Michelle closed her eyes. "I'm so sorry..." she said before a tear fell and landed on Huggy Wuggy's head.

Huggy Wuggy stared at Michelle before looking at the railing and raising his left arm toward it. After Huggy Wuggy wrapped his left arm around the railing, he pulled himself up with Michelle's help before he got on the catwalk.

When Michelle looked at Huggy Wuggy, she saw a large gash on the left side of his head, which made her gasp and cover her mouth. "That looks really bad," she said before kneeling and quickly getting her arms out of her backpack's straps.

Huggy Wuggy stared at Michelle with weary eyes as she pulled the arm cannons out of her backpack's straps before placing her backpack on the ground.

Michelle grabbed the zipper tab before unzipping her backpack. "I managed to take a first-aid kit along with a few other things back at my orphanage," she said, which shocked Huggy Wuggy as she rummaged inside it.

Soon after, Michelle pulled her first-aid kit out of her backpack. "You probably don't trust me now since I look more like an adult than when I was here last time, but—" she stopped midsentence when she felt a hand on top of her head, which surprised her.

When Michelle turned her head to Huggy Wuggy, she saw his smile with his mouth closed, and his hand on top of her head. "Do you... trust me?" she asked.

Huggy Wuggy nodded as he pulled his hand away from Michelle before lowering his head to her level, which made her smile. "Thank you, Huggy," she said.

As Michelle opened the first-aid kit, she placed it on the catwalk and grabbed an alcohol wipe packet out of it.

Michelle looked at Huggy Wuggy while tearing the top of the packet and pulling the wipe out of it. "This might sting a little..." she said before carefully placing it against the gash.

Huggy Wuggy screeched in pain, which made Michelle look at him. "I know it hurts, but we have to disinfect the wound, or it'll get worse," she continued as she carefully wiped the gash with the alcohol wipe. "Just hang on for a little longer."

Huggy Wuggy gritted his teeth and stayed still until Michelle finished wiping his gash and examined it. "That should do the job," she said before tossing the wipe over the catwalk.

Michelle grabbed a gauze roll out of the first-aid kit and undid the tail of it before wrapping it around the left side of Huggy Wuggy's head gash.

Soon after, Michelle tore the gauze roll before carefully tapping it against itself. "Unfortunately, the first-aid kit doesn't come with a stitching kit, so this'll have to do for the time being," she said before placing it back in the first-aid kit.

After Michelle closed the first-aid kit and put it back in her backpack, she rummaged inside it. "And for being a good toy, you get a treat," she continued, which made Huggy Wuggy light up.

Michelle pulled out a bag of mini cookies and placed the bottom of it in her right palm before holding it out. "Here is your—" Huggy Wuggy snatched the bag out of her hand, which made her flinch.

Huggy Wuggy grabbed the top of the bag with his teeth before tearing it off and pouring the cookies into his mouth.

Michelle stared at Huggy Wuggy with a sweatdrop as he was chewing the cookies in his mouth. "Wow... I guess you were starving..." she said in a low voice.

After Huggy Wuggy finished eating the cookies, he looked at Michelle, which made her flinch a bit and glance away.

Huggy Wuggy let go of the bag and wrapped his arms around Michelle, which made her freeze up before he pulled her into a hug. Michelle was shocked as Huggy Wuggy let out a soft purr. "Thank... you..." he said in a low voice.

Michelle was surprised and looked at Huggy Wuggy. "You can talk?" she asked.

Huggy Wuggy nodded. "No talk... often..." he said in a low voice.

Michelle hummed a bit and nodded. "That's fair," she said.

After Huggy Wuggy let go, Michelle stood up and looked at him. "You probably don't remember me, so I'll introduce myself," she continued before placing her hand on her chest. "My name is Michelle Mercia, but I let friends call me Misha."

Huggy Wuggy tilted his head. "Mi... sha..." he said in a low voice.

Huggy Wuggy raised his hand before placing it on top of Michelle's head. "Little girl... that always waved... to Huggy..." he continued.

Michelle smiled and nodded. "Yeah, that's me!" she shouted.

Huggy Wuggy looked at Michelle. "Misha grew..." he said in a low voice.

Michelle giggled a bit. "Yeah, I did; I can't stay a little kid forever," she said.

Huggy Wuggy pulled his hand away from Michelle's head. "Why Misha here...?" he asked.

Michelle looked at Huggy Wuggy before looking away with a slight frown. "Well... I ran away from my orphanage because they were planning to kick me out when I turned eighteen," she said, which surprised him. "I found this place by coincidence, but..."

Michelle looked at Huggy Wuggy. "My goal now is to find my friends," she continued.

Huggy Wuggy tilted his head. "Friends...?" he asked.

Michelle nodded. "They're two siblings: Kevin and Katelynn Barnes. We used to play together all the time in Playcare after I found Kevin's sister long ago," she said.

Michelle looked down with a frown. "But for some reason... Kevin disappeared without a trace," she continued. "I still had Katie with me until a year later, and she disappeared without a trace too."

Michelle looked at Huggy Wuggy, determined. "No matter what, I'm going to find my friends," she said.

Huggy Wuggy stared at Michelle as she looked away. "If you still plan on stopping me, I understand, but—" she was interrupted when he placed his hand on top of her head, which surprised her.

When Michelle looked at Huggy Wuggy, he put his right arm through one of her backpack's straps before standing up properly. "Huggy go... with Misha..." he said in a low voice.

Michelle smiled at Huggy Wuggy. "Really? You mean it?" she asked.

Huggy Wuggy nodded, which made Michelle hug his leg. "Oh, thank you, Huggy," she said.

Huggy Wuggy looked at Michelle's backpack before putting his left arm through the other strap and carrying it on his back. "Huggy carry... Misha's bag..." he said in a low voice.

Michelle nodded before looking around. "Now, where do we go?" she asked herself.

Soon after, Michelle spotted a poppy flower painted on the wall before pointing at it. "That place might have something in it," she said before walking forward. "Let's go, Huggy."

Huggy Wuggy nodded before following Michelle; while they were walking, she spotted a black VHS tape on the ground. Huggy Wuggy looked around as Michelle picked up the tape. "There has to be a VHS player here somewhere..." she said.

Huggy Wuggy spotted something and tapped Michelle's shoulder, which made her look at him. "What is it?" she asked.

Huggy Wuggy pointed to the right. "Over there..." he said in a low voice.

When Michelle turned her head to the right, she spotted a TV hanging on a metal bar with a black VHS player on a shelf in the distance.

Michelle hummed a bit and nodded before looking at Huggy Wuggy and holding the tape up. "Before we get to that room with the poppy flower, we can head to that TV and see what's on this tape," she said.

Huggy Wuggy nodded as the duo walked to the right; when they were close to the player, Michelle put the tape inside it. The duo looked at the screen as it booted up. "Final log. In relation: 1-0-0-6. The Prototype..." the scientist said.

Huggy Wuggy shuddered at the name, which made Michelle look at him, concerned. "Huggy?" she asked.

Michelle heard faint screaming coming from the TV, which surprised her and made her look at it. "Coordination and cooperation is evidently within his skillset, as well as the skillset of all other experiments of his type," the scientist said. "Though still missing, today's events are no doubt in relation to him."

Michelle heard alarms in the background. "His absence was a flaw in the scientific process, which should have under no circumstances been left unaccounted for," the scientist continued. "That's why I'm making this log: so that the same mistake won't be made twice."

Michelle felt slightly uncomfortable as she heard screaming and pounding in the background. "Any future experiments will need to be contained and disposed of in a secure location," the scientist said.

Michelle heard the banging in the background get louder. "I'm not worried about myself. One breakthrough, and I'll be back," the scientist continued.

Michelle heard footsteps and screaming in the background. "We must forge onwards in the name of science, whether those who are beneath us understand it or not! End of—" the scientist stopped midsentence when the duo heard a loud thud, and the footsteps got louder before static came from the TV.

After the TV turned off, Michelle looked down, uncomfortable. "What was that video? Those screams in the background... they sound like human screams..." she said in a low voice.

When Michelle turned her head to Huggy Wuggy, she noticed he was looking down with his arms crossed, trembling, which surprised her. "Hey, hey, it's OK," she said before placing her hand on his leg.

When Huggy Wuggy looked at Michelle, he saw her gentle smile as she petted his leg. "Things will be OK; you've got me by your side now," she continued.

Huggy Wuggy stared at Michelle before smiling and nodding, which made her smile, before they walked away from the TV.

...

...

...

Soon after, the duo stood before the painted wall's door. "This probably holds something important," Michelle said before looking at Huggy Wuggy. "Ready?"

Huggy Wuggy placed his right hand on Michelle's left hand, which made her hold it before he nodded. Michelle nodded before placing her free hand on the doorknob and twisting it.

When Michelle opened the door, the duo saw a hallway with floral patterns on the walls and dim lights. Michelle turned her head to Huggy Wuggy. "I'd watch your head; this place is a bit narrow," she said.

Huggy Wuggy nodded and crouched before the duo entered the hallway; as they went down the stairs, they heard faint music. When the duo reached the bottom of the stairs, they saw a long hallway. "Well, this hallway doesn't look ominous as hell," Michelle said sarcastically.

Huggy Wuggy giggled a bit as he stood up properly before the duo walked forward. Soon after, the duo entered a room with a dresser, a dollhouse, an air-hole wall, a bookshelf, and blue pillows on cushioned surfaces.

Michelle looked around the room uncomfortably. "Who or what lives in this place?" she asked.

When Huggy Wuggy looked forward, he spotted something and tapped Michelle's shoulder with his free hand, which made her look at him. "What is it?" she asked.

Huggy Wuggy pointed forward, which made Michelle look forward; she spotted a hallway with red lights at the end of it. Michelle sighed a bit. "Usually, red doesn't mean a good thing, but unfortunately... we don't have a choice," she said.

Huggy Wuggy nodded as they walked past the air-hole wall before entering the red-lit hallway, which caused the music to get louder.

Soon after, the duo stood before two wooden doors; Michelle placed her hand on one of the doors' handles before twisting it and pushing it open. Soon after, the duo saw a porcelain doll with curly red hair in pigtails wearing a blue dress inside a glass case.

After the duo entered the room, Michelle looked at the doll. "Is that... a Poppy Playtime doll?" she asked before turning her head to Huggy Wuggy. "Is she like you?"

Huggy Wuggy remained silent and let go of Michelle's hand before stepping back a bit. Michelle stared at Huggy Wuggy, concerned, before looking at the case; she took a deep breath and exhaled before grabbing the left arm cannon's handle.

Michelle aimed the left arm cannon at the case's handle before pulling the left trigger, launching the blue hand and grabbing it. "I hope I'm not making a mistake about this," she said before pulling it again.

As the blue hand pulled the case open, the red lights flickered, which shocked the duo and made them look around. When Michelle looked at Poppy, she saw her eyes open before the room went dark. "You opened my case," she said.
