Chapter 21 - Ep. 6 — Lunar Labs, II

No mom! Don't leave me! I'm sorry… Even though it was a dream, the tears felt so real.

As my face was in my hands, I couldn't help but feel hopeless. How could I forget something so simple, so quickly… I mean that's my name, I've been called by it all my life. Was it Silvia? Ana? No, maybe it was Ivy?

No, no, no!! I don't know what to do…

After a while, I worked up the energy to open my eyes again, as I felt myself dip into water.

As I got up, I looked around, and again, I was in that empty space I'd been in before. I looked around and as I was sitting in the water, every movement let off a ripple effect that let off a small glow.

Why was I here?

I got up and started walking forward, and every step let off another ripple effect. Without getting too far, I noticed that the ripples were hitting something in the distance. The closer I got, the more my head started stinging, a feeling as if it was getting squished.

I stopped, I didn't want to get too close, since last time I got hurt here I got hurt in the real world. Whatever it was, was still quite a distance away, but I could tell it was a wall. I squinted to try and see it better, and I noticed that it looked… oddly familiar?

Was that the-

A violent rumbling threw me off balance and I lost my footing. I thought there was a floor, but as I fell, I started sinking beneath the water.

The feeling I started getting was just like when you'd wake up from a nightmare, and may not have been too scared by the dream, but it was as if your body was…

Everything was pitch black, I couldn't see anything, my breathing felt weird… I was underwater but I could breath, but it also felt like I was drowning.

I jolted up, and Yuri stopped shaking me.

"someones at the door" He nervously whispered with his face being pale as snow.

"What??" I pulled the covers over me.

I could hear someone aggressively knocking on the door.

"HUNTER, OPEN THE DOOR!"

I jumped out of bed, and shoved Yuri into the closet covering his mouth.

"don't make a noise" I whispered as I moved my hand and covered him in some clothes.

I closed the closet and rushed over to the door.

I tried to act like I just woke up and messed my hair up some more… even though it was already messy.

As I slowly opened the door, I said, "Sorry I was sleeping-"

My eyes widened as a guard… or police, shoved me aside.

Did they know!? I stayed close to the wall as I looked at the three people here. They all wore black military suits, with a helmet mask covering their identity. They had a dark blue line go down their sides, and a badge on the front of their outfit as well as on their upper arms.

The badge on the front said 'LLE,' and of course, that meant "Lunar Lethal Enforcement," which was written on the arm badges…

"Hey! What is going on!" I said as I moved away from the guards, standing in the way off the box pile to keep their attention away from it.

"How would I know… I was just hoping to use this." The officer in the back said maniacally as he held his gun.

"Did you really not listen to the briefing?" Another officer said as she lowered his gun.

"Why would I-" before he could finish, the officer who barged in first spoke up.

"Guys, shut up." He swung his arms.

"She's right here!" He pointed to me, and I noticed that their badges had a number under the main chest one, and his badge's number was under the LLE, "#2-03." I believe he was the one in charge. Then her badge was "#3-06," and the creepy one was "#3-10." I don't know if the numbering had any significance, but the one in charge did have a lower number…

"You'll be coming with us madam." The one in front said.

"Wait what, why?!"

"Did I do something??" I started sweating, so they found out… but that's my blood-

"We don't know why, we were just ordered to."

"What?" They don't have any probable cause?? So they didn't figure out anything…

"Do you have a warrant, or even a cause to arrest me??"

When I said that, they all looked at me. I couldn't see their faces, but I could tell they were surprised.

"What?"

"Are… you-" before the guard in front could finish, the unhinged guard walked up.

"Are you stupid?" He said as he got in my face.

I leaned back in shock.

"We haven't needed a warrant for what…" he looked at the other guards, "Well, I don't know, it's probably been 3 or 4 years."

"You're coming with us whether you like it or not."

"Can I at least change? I'm still in my pajamas…" I said as I tugged at my shirt.

I needed an opportunity to get the ear piece from Yuri, as this may be our chance.

"Go ahead, where are you're clothes?" He asked.

"I can get them-"

"No." He quickly cut me off.

"We'll get your clothes. You are going to change right here, then coming with us, got it?"

"What?"

"I need some privacy?" I gave him a weird look.

"Well that's too bad." He said mockingly as he tilted his head back and forth.

"Then you can just take me in these." I lifted my arms up to be handcuffed.

"Nah, I'm inter-" He got cut off by the main guard, who grabbed his shoulder, and again, I couldn't see his face, but I could tell that this weird guard was scared of him.

He pulled him back and directed the female guard to keep an eye on me and dragged the other guard outside and closed the door.

"Well, you heard him. Where are your clothes." She said very directly.

"In my closet, there on the floor in a pile." I set aside the pair I wanted to wear last night next to the door.

"Sigh…" She slowly started walking toward the closet, and it's then that I remembered Yuri was in there.

My vision started getting slim, almost like hallway vision, as she slowly got closer to the closet door and I felt like I got further. It was too late now to say never mind, as she'd find that really suspicious… especially because I don't know why they are here.

She opened the closet door, and started bending down, then suddenly froze. Did she see him? Was he still hiding? Please don't tell me you see-

"What's this?" She started reaching further into the closet.

"WAIT!" I screamed, but it was too late.
