Marie's POV

I waited until it was dark again before I decided to head out.I guess that was the only time I could move freely without being spotted by Mancini, who had eyes all over the place.

My chest drummed when I got to the hallway leading to the abandoned library I had been wanting to visit, and lucky for me, there were fewer guards here since the place was abandoned anyway.

I moved freely, my eyes taking note of everything that was there. For some reason, I had a feeling this place had some answer to my long worries. Why Mancini was doing this. I had a feeling it was more than the money.

As I looked around, I walked into a spiderweb, which caused me to be disoriented for a moment.

I found myself waving my hands at the webs, trying to get them off, but the more I struggled, the more I found myself being entangled.

I was worried and tried to handle the situation, but it didn't seem I could.
