After the class assessment, Cha Min-Jae waited to receive his Hunter's License, which would indicate his designated hunter class.
"It seems you will also be classified as a Mage-type Hunter," Woo Jin-chul said as they stood outside the evaluation room.
"Also? You mean the recent announcement about the 10th S-Rank Hunter, Sung Jin-woo, being a Mage-type as well?" Min-Jae inquired.
"Yes, that's correct. His classification was made public just 3 days ago, and he too was identified as a Mage-type," Woo Jin-chul confirmed.
"I see. However, I'm sure the similarities between us end at our rank and class designations," Min-Jae remarked.
"Yes, that's probably the case," Woo Jin-chul agreed, then proceeded to ask the question that had been on his mind since witnessing Min-Jae's Infinity defense against his punch. "Speaking of your defense, is it truly as powerful as you described? Is it impenetrable?"
"I wouldn't say it's completely impenetrable, as there is no such thing as an infallible defense," Min-Jae responded. "However, it would take significantly more than just a punch to breach the Infinity defense."
Woo Jin-chul understood what he was trying to say.
"Here is your hunter license, Hunter Cha Min-Jae."
The rank assessment officer walked out with the license card in his hand and handed it to Min-Jae, who took it.
The card contained some of his personal information, such as his name, age, and a photograph, as well as his rank, which was S-Rank, and his class, which was Mage.
Min-Jae took the card, looked at it briefly, and then placed it in his pocket. He thanked the officer before walking towards the entrance of the building with Woo Jin-chul.
"There are reporters outside, and you may need to address them. Answering a few questions would be sufficient. However, it's entirely up to you whether you wish to address them or not," Woo Jin-chul explained, recalling what had happened after Sung Jin-woo's announcement of becoming an S-Rank, when he had completely ignored the media.
But Min-Jae had no intention of doing the same.
"No problem. I can at least answer a few of their questions," he commented with a small smirk on his face, and Woo Jin-chul nodded in agreement.
---
As the two of them exited the building through the main entrance, they were greeted by a large crowd of reporters gathered outside. The reporters immediately started taking photographs and attempting to push through the crowd, but they were held back by the security personnel provided by the Hunter Association.
"There seems to be a significant number of them out there," Min-Jae observed, gazing at the throng of reporters. He wondered if the current crowd was larger or smaller compared to the one present during Sung Jin-woo's previous announcement.
"The reporters started gathering outside very early this morning, but their numbers have continued to increase, likely due to the Hunter Association's website updating information about the 11th S-Rank Hunter, I mean you," Woo Jin-chul responded. He took a few steps back, allowing Min-Jae to take the lead position.
It took a moment, but the commotion eventually began to settle down, and the reporters started to behave in a more orderly manner.
However, the noise of questions soon began to rise once again, as each reporter was eager to have their voice heard and their questions answered by Min-Jae. This created a chaotic environment, making it difficult to clearly discern any individual question.
"I will do my best to answer as many questions as I can," Min-Jae stated, and the crowd of reporters immediately turned their attention towards him. The noise gradually faded as the place became more silent. "Please ask your questions one at a time, and avoid creating any further chaos, as that would not be beneficial, and I may have to cut the session short," he added, making a concerted effort to maintain control over the crowd of reporters.
The place fell silent, and Min-Jae gestured towards one of the female reporters in the crowd, signaling her to ask her question.
"Hunter Cha Min-Jae, first of all, congratulations on becoming the 11th S-Rank Hunter in the country. My question would be about your awakening - when did it actually happen?"
"Well, it's not something that can be pinpointed to an exact time. But a week ago, I had an accident, and the next thing I knew, I was waking up in the hospital, and I had been awakened. Next question."
"As the rumors suggest, you are the brother of the renowned S-Rank Hunter, Cha Hai-In. Is this true?"
"I would say that's a rather curious question, as it's no secret that I am her brother. You can check our social media profiles if you'd like to confirm. Next."
"Was becoming a Hunter after your awakening a personal choice for you?"
"Yes."
"Since your sister is already the vice guild master of one of the biggest guilds in the country, will you be joining that guild, or perhaps you have already done so?"
"You'll have to stay tuned to the news to find out if and when that happens."
Min-Jae glanced back at Chief Inspector Woo Jin-chul and gestured that he was ready to end the press conference, as he felt the questions were becoming too dull.
'How boring and utterly pointless. No wonder Sung Jin-woo skipped this,' he thought.
"Thank you all for coming out today. I'm sure there will be many more opportunities in the future to answer all your questions, but for now, let's wrap things up here. Thanks again."
After his announcement, Woo Jin-chul stepped forward to escort him out.
"Hunter Min-Jae, as we know you are an S-Rank Mage Class Hunter, could you perhaps demonstrate one of your abilities for us?"
One of the young female reporters from the crowd almost shouted to be heard over the others, and her request caught Min-Jae's attention. He smirked and looked back at Woo Jin-chul.
"Thank you, Chief Inspector Woo, but I believe I can manage to leave without the need for an escort," Min-Jae said. He then turned to face the crowd of reporters and announced, "Watch this..."
In the blink of an eye, he vanished from the spot, leaving the reporters, security personnel, and even Woo Jin-chul with surprised expressions on their faces. They quickly turned to see Min-Jae calmly walking away, waving to the reporters without looking back. He made his way to his car and departed the scene.
