When Xiao Yan managed to dodge her attack even while fusing his Heavenly Flames, Hun Moli paused in disbelief. But her hesitation lasted only a moment before she recovered. With a single step, her figure flickered eerily and appeared above Xiao Yan's head. Her palm struck down viciously, aiming directly at the crown of his skull. As her hand fell, the space around Xiao Yan was forcibly sealed off, cutting off any chance of using movement-type Dou Techniques to evade.
Despite the deadly strike looming inches away, Xiao Yan's expression remained as calm as a still lake. That tranquility unnerved Hun Moli on a deep, instinctive level. A moment later, the spiritual power surging at Xiao Yan's brow erupted violently, forming a faint, translucent figure in midair. Without a word, the soul avatar punched out toward her.
The punch landed.
Hun Moli's expression shifted instantly. Though this blow wasn't particularly powerful—far less so than a direct attack from Xiao Yan's physical body—it still sent a wave of dizziness crashing through her mind the moment it struck. Caught off guard, she staggered back several steps on pure reflex.
"A soul attack?" Hun Moli's gaze sharpened as she stared at the soul projection above Xiao Yan's head, shock flickering in her eyes. She hadn't expected this at all. Not only had Xiao Yan achieved soul separation, but the force behind his soul attack had actually surpassed her own!
What stunned her even more was that despite the separation, Xiao Yan's physical body was still continuing the fusion of the Heavenly Flames. His eyes might have lost focus, but the multicolored flame mass in his hands was growing more stable with every passing moment.
Normally, when a cultivator's soul left the body, the body would enter a dormant state until the soul returned. Yet, Xiao Yan had defied that logic. Even while his soul was outside, his body had not halted for a moment. It continued cultivating—fusing the flames independently.
"Just a soul form. Don't tell me you think that's enough to change the outcome?" Hun Moli's fingers formed seals at lightning speed. Although Xiao Yan's soul strength had surprised her, she didn't believe for a moment that it could truly stop her. If she used her true methods, it would be enough to crush that soul body completely.
But just as she was about to strike, Xiao Yan's soul avatar calmly extended a palm and made a light clenching motion. Instantly, Hun Moli's entire body trembled. The Dou Qi within her began to swirl chaotically, and the technique she had just condensed dispersed entirely. She sensed it clearly—a formless flame had suddenly appeared within her body. It was this invisible flame that disrupted her Dou Qi, disarming her momentarily.
It was the Heart Flame generated by the Fallen Heart Flame Xiao Yan had just refined. Even in soul form, he still had control over Heavenly Flames. Yet due to the significant difference in power between them, the Heart Flame's impact was limited. Within seconds, Hun Moli forcefully suppressed it.
Even so, just as she prepared to strike again, a strange numbness crept through her limbs. This unexpected sensation filled her with alarm.
'I already suppressed the Heart Flame! Why am I feeling this now?'
She quickly realized something was wrong. This wasn't the Fallen Heart Flame's doing—it was poison!
If Hun Moli had taken a closer look at the Heart Flame that had slipped into her body, she would've seen a faint violet hue glimmering on its surface—an unmistakable sign of the Nether Poison Flame's influence.
For a Dou Zun, common poisons were meaningless. Although the Nether Poison Flame contained intense toxicity, it normally wouldn't be effective against someone of her level. But the Fallen Heart Flame had solved that problem. When the Heart Flame entered her body, it carried the poison with it, seeping into her bloodstream. While it couldn't inflict lethal damage, it could delay her actions—and that was enough for Xiao Yan.
Hun Moli had to expend tremendous effort to flush out the poison. By the time she regained clarity, she realized with dread that the flame mass in Xiao Yan's hand had nearly completed its fusion.
Gritting her teeth, she lunged at him once more, determined to stop the technique no matter the cost. She was even prepared to take another punch from that soul avatar.
But unexpectedly, the soul avatar didn't attack.
Instead, it swiftly re-entered Xiao Yan's body.
As the soul reintegrated, clarity returned to Xiao Yan's eyes. Without hesitation, he lifted his head—and two beams of deep blue flame erupted from his pupils.
Hun Moli's heart sank the moment she saw them.
She instinctively knew that this attack couldn't be blocked by Dou Qi alone.
With a sharp cry, she exhaled layers of dense black mist, which quickly condensed into a seemingly impenetrable energy barrier. This shield was formed entirely of soul power—a defense specifically tailored to withstand spiritual attacks.
Unfortunately for her, it was futile.
The power of the Annihilation Flame Eyes was already terrifying on its own—capable of instantly killing someone like Earth Demon Old Ghost. Now, infused with both his Soul Flame from the Nine-Turn Spirit Refining Technique and the Fallen Heart Flame, the technique had grown even deadlier. The Fallen Heart Flame itself had a soul-burning property, which compounded the destructive force of the attack.
The moment the twin beams struck her barrier, it disintegrated in a flash.
Agonizing pain tore through Hun Moli's mind.
Her face went ghost-white, and she coughed up blood. Her body trembled violently.
"You bastard!" she snarled, trembling uncontrollably. Though the attack hadn't caused any damage to her body, her soul had suffered tremendous injury. If she hadn't cultivated soul techniques of her own and developed unique defensive methods, that blast would've done far more than just minor damage.
Just then, a soft sound echoed.
Hun Moli's pupils contracted.
A terrifying, overwhelming energy was pouring from Xiao Yan's palm. She turned—and saw a brilliant, multicolored fire lotus, no larger than a hand, suspended quietly above his palm.
"This… this is impossible!"
Even with her six-star Dou Zun strength, the energy within that lotus made her scalp tingle and her heart pound uncontrollably.
As the fire lotus reached completion, Xiao Yan raised his head and gave her a faint smile.
Then, with a flick of his wrist, the lotus transformed into a blazing streak of light and shot toward Hun Moli
