🌙 Chapter 1 — Lightning Under the Moonlight
Rain fell without warning.
Thunder cracked through the night sky, splitting the darkness with blinding white light.
Atop an old building, a girl sat hugging her knees.
Her black hair was soaked, lips pale, but her eyes never left the full moon hanging in the grey sky.
Lian Yue Xiang.
Her name whispered along with the wind, as if the night sky, too, remembered it.
"Why... do I always feel like the moon is calling me?" she murmured softly, barely audible to herself.
Lightning struck again. But this time… it struck her.

The lightning roared like the wrath of the heavens exploding, crashing into the earth with a sound enough to make hearts tremble.
A violet light engulfed her body.
Her heartbeat stopped. Just as she tried to stand, her vision went white. "Wor—..."
Her body collapsed instantly, and only two words could describe what she was experiencing now—Darkness and pain.

She tried to rise, but the body was too weak.

Panic surged in Yue Xiang. She tried to speak, but her voice was sealed.

Blood trickled from her palm, dripping onto the stone altar where she lay.
And as the drop fell…

Yue Xiang looked up at the moon.
Tears unknowingly streamed down her face.
