Chapter 5 - 5. Decided to stay

The original owner's home was located at North Star Farm on the outskirts of Point. The farm was purchased by the original owner's grandfather in the 1940s, with a total area of 1380 acres. However, calling it a farm is a bit of a stretch.

Due to the farm not undergoing large-scale cultivation, the area of arable land is very limited, totaling only 50 acres. It primarily grows three crops: blueberries, cranberries, and potatoes, which bring in 70,000 to 80,000 us dollars in income annually.

In the original owner's memory, North Star Farm used to have a very large breeding farm.

As the original owner's grandfather passed away, the original owner's father shifted his focus to working at sea, and the breeding farm was left to decay, now only a patch of ruins remains.

In addition, most areas of North Star Farm are primeval forests, rivers, and mountains.

This is also where the true value of North Star Farm lies. The primeval forest not only has endless spruce trees but also a large number of wild animals.

Every winter, the original owner would go hunting in the farm's forest with his father, partly to obtain meat for the winter and partly to drive away carnivorous animals to prevent them from coming out and harming people.

The brown bear skin on the living room floor of the villa was the trophy from the father and son's patrol the year before last.

Two pickup trucks slowly stopped in the open space in front of the villa. Jessica carried the afternoon's seafood harvest into the kitchen and started processing it; Li Wei took out the beef he had just bought, planning to make a dish of tomato beef; Buck began preparing the chicken wings, getting ready to make his signature secret roasted chicken.

For a while, the large villa was filled with the laughter of the three people.

Fortunately, the villa's kitchen was large enough, otherwise, it wouldn't have been enough for the three of them to work in at the same time.

While the tomato beef was simmering, Li Wei and Buck each took a can of beer and went outside the villa to drink.

Under the eaves, the two lightly clinked their beer cans.

"Li Wei, what are you planning to do with the Sea Monster?"

After Buck asked this question, he felt a bit nervous.

In Eagle Country, it is very common for heirs to sell inherited property. As the deck boss and mechanic of the Sea Monster, he was naturally very concerned about the future of the Sea Monster.

As for stopping Li Wei from selling the Sea Monster, he had never considered it. The reason he brought up this question today was to know Li Wei's plans in advance, so he could prepare to look for a job beforehand.

Li Wei naturally saw Buck's nervousness and understood what the other person was worried about after a moment of thought.

Point is not a very large place, nor is it small, but finding a suitable job for oneself can be said to be very difficult.

Although the Sea Monster is only 33 meters long, it is still considered a notable vessel in Point.

As everyone knows, the bigger the fishing boat, the more fish it catches.

The income of the crew members on the Sea Monster is also higher than on other fishing boats. As the deck boss and mechanic, Buck's income is naturally even higher.

If it were him, he would also proactively ask.

Li Wei's initial plan was to sell all his inheritance and then take the cash to live in a big city.

However, after activating the detection system, he had given up on this idea.

As for making money, it's not necessary to go to a big city.

Today is the 21st century, the era of the internet. With just a computer and an internet cable, stock trading can be done, so it doesn't really matter where one is.

Secondly, the place Alaska indeed has great potential.

As one of the most valuable places on Blue Star, more than half of Eagle Country's aquatic products come from the waters of Alaska. Not to mention, besides having abundant fishery resources, it also possesses large amounts of gold, oil, and natural gas.

Now that he possesses the detection system, whether it's searching for schools of fish in the sea or mineral veins buried deep underground, there are no secrets for him.

The prospects for making money are in no way inferior to those in big cities.

Just like the ambergris he picked up this afternoon, it can bring him at least 100,000 us dollars in income.

If he could find a sunken ship filled with gold and jewelry, whether he salvages it himself or sells the location of the wreck to a professional salvage company, he could obtain a considerable income.

And the most crucial point is that Alaska is far from the main base of Eagle Country. Large capital and financial groups do not pay much attention to this place. As long as he is not involved in energy and mineral resources, they generally won't bother the local people of Alaska, let alone him being just an ordinary fisherman.

Li Wei took a sip of beer and slowly said:

"Buck, I plan to stay and invite you to be the deck boss and chief mechanic of the Sea Monster."

"Alright! I hope you..."

Buck's words were halfway out of his mouth when they got stuck in his throat, unable to come out. He even thought he had misheard, and asked with a face full of disbelief:

"Li Wei, what did you just say? You said you plan to stay? My god! I didn't mishear, did I!"

Seeing that Buck's face was red with excitement, Li Wei repeated what he had just said.

"Buck, I plan to stay in Point and invite you to become the deck boss and chief mechanic of the Sea Monster."

Hearing the definite answer again, Buck trembled with excitement. For a moment, he didn't know how to express his feelings and could only give Li Wei a strong bear hug.

"Tha... Thank you, Li Wei."

"We are brothers."

"That's right, we are brothers."

"..."

Since knowing that Li Wei planned to stay in Point, Buck appeared exceptionally excited, constantly chattering about the preparations needed for going out to sea.

Such as the Sea Monster needing maintenance, the fishing cages and longlines needing repair and tidying, and bait and ice also needing to be booked in advance...

Li Wei did not interrupt the other person. He understood Buck's feelings perfectly at this moment.

No one wants to lose a job they like, especially one with a considerable income.

In fact, Li Wei had his own considerations for keeping Buck. He didn't know much about how to go fishing at sea. Even after inheriting the original owner's memories, he could only be said to have a slight understanding and still needed the help of an experienced person like Buck.

Secondly, fishing at sea is very dangerous, not only from the treacherous and changeable weather of Alaska Bay but also from dangers posed by other people. Therefore, he needed a trustworthy partner, and Buck was the most suitable person.

Of course, having a beautiful younger sister of the other person had absolutely nothing to do with it.

At this moment, Jessica's voice came from inside the villa.

"Buck, Li Wei, the food is ready."

"Jessica, we're coming."

"..."

When Li Wei and Buck walked into the dining room, they were attracted by the dazzling array of food on the table.

He was about to go and serve his tomato beef when he saw Jessica coming out with a plate. What else could it be but his tomato beef?

After the last dish was served, Li Wei and Buck picked up their beers, while Jessica held a glass of juice. After clinking glasses, the three began to feast.

Whether it was because of the transmigration or because he hadn't eaten all day, Li Wei felt like he could eat an entire cow.

"Buck, Jessica, try the stewed tomato beef I made."

"Li Wei, your tomato beef is really good!"

"It's a pity we didn't buy dinner rolls today."

"Li Wei, try this..."

"..."

The three ate, drank, and chatted.

At this moment, all worries were cast aside, and they fully enjoyed the delicious food, fine wine, conversation, and laughter.

As the food on the table decreased and the empty beer cans increased, Li Wei felt a bit tipsy.

Since Buck had drunk a bit too much due to his excitement, Li Wei suggested the siblings stay at the villa for the night.

The siblings did not refuse. They had stayed overnight at the farm before, so they were naturally familiar with it.

After the two were properly settled, Li Wei returned to his bedroom on the second floor. As soon as he pushed open the door, he saw the poster hanging on the wall.

The woman in the poster had a hot figure and was wearing cool clothes, which made Li Wei's heart surge slightly.

After checking the corridor and confirming no one was there, he quickly took the poster down from the wall and carefully put it away.

According to the memories in the original owner's mind, this was an autographed poster of a certain female star from "Fernando", which had considerable artistic value.
