Leticia looked down at the gloves, a flicker of anger passing through her eyes before she quickly masked it with indifference.
"They're new," she replied shortly, not elaborating further.
Morgan's gaze lingered on the gloves, a hint of suspicion in her eyes. She had never seen Leticia wear gloves before, and the fact that she was doing so now, after refusing to share them with Amelia, seemed odd.
"Where did you get them?" Morgan asked, her tone casual but her gaze sharp.
Leticia shrugged nonchalantly.
"A gift," she said vaguely.
Morgan's eyes narrowed slightly. A gift? From whom? She knew Leticia didn't have many friends, and certainly no one wealthy enough to afford such luxurious gloves.
"From who?" Morgan pressed, her curiosity piqued.
Leticia met Morgan's gaze steadily, her expression unreadable.
"Does it matter?" she asked calmly.
Morgan's lips thinned into a disapproving line.
"Everything about you matters," she said coldly. Taylor stepped forward.
"Mrs. Princeton am I not allowed to give gifts to my best friend?" Taylor asked as she hooked her arm around Leticia. Amelia who saw this was jealous she heard from some of the rich girls she had become friends say that Taylor is the daughter of the Watergate Family and they are known for their abilities as martial arts and warrior users they are respected by the royal family, while Delfina is a Cadrian Family which they are known for their magic skills and Delfina older sister went to the most prestigious college and her brother is third Prince best friend. Yet these two girls are best friends with Leticia. She was jealous but she put on a fake smile. Delfina and Taylor notice this but did not care.
Morgan knew this that these two girls are Leticia best friends.
"Delfina, Taylor, this is Amelia my daughter," Morgan said and Amelia who is jealous took a deep breath she just make these two like her and stop being best friends with this commoner.
Delfina and Taylor turned to Amelia, their expressions polite but guarded. They had heard the rumors about the Princeton family's newfound daughter, and they knew better than to trust her at first glance.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Amelia," Delfina said coolly, giving her a brief nod.
Taylor followed suit, offering a small smile.
"Yeah, nice to meet you."
Amelia beamed at them, her eyes sparkling with fake sincerity.
"Oh, it's so wonderful to meet you too! I've heard so much about you both. Leticia is lucky to have such amazing friends."
Leticia watched the exchange with a mixture of amusement and annoyance. She could see right through Amelia's act, and she knew that Delfina and Taylor were not fooled either.
"Amelia," Leticia said, her voice calm but firm.
"I'm sure Delfina and Taylor have better things to do than stand around chatting with us."
Delfina and Taylor both walked out together as they talked and sent Leticia their secret signal. As soon as they were out of sight Amelia became arrogant again.
Amelia's smile faded as soon as Delfina and Taylor were out of sight, her arrogant expression returning.
"Ugh, what a pair," she muttered, rolling her eyes.
"They think they're so special just because their families are rich and powerful."
Leticia sighed inwardly, unsurprised by Amelia's attitude. She had seen it countless times before the spoiled heiress looking down on anyone she deemed beneath her.
"They are Leticia's friends," Morgan reminded Amelia sharply.
"You will treat them with respect."
Amelia pouted but nodded reluctantly.
"Yes, Mother."
Morgan turned back to Leticia, her gaze lingering on the gloves once more.
"Tsk tsk it is summer what is the point to wearing gloves?" Morgan said but did not bother with it. Leticia looked at her gloves as she stared at her palms she is somewhat concerned about Leonardo being able to see her nail marks on her palm. It should be hard to tell if one doesn't look carefully.
After finishing their shopping Leticia felt extremely exhausted and was ready to go.
Delfina masquerade party was finally here.
Delfina it seems like you are a person who likes to play game how wonderful this party will be this year again.
The moment the two woman walked inside everyone looked at Amelia beautiful green dress and Leticia was wearing a light purple dress.
"Miss. Leticia," a guy said to Amelia.
"Ah it's me," Leticia said as she waved her gentle hand and everyone attention went to her. Of course no parents were here at all so Amelia felt nervous after all this is her first party but at the same time she felt ready and excited to overthrow Leticia. But Leticia stepped forward her ocean blue hair her colorful eyes, and the beautiful dress made her look like a goddess.
Amelia's eyes widened as she took in the grandeur of the masquerade party. The opulent ballroom was adorned with glittering chandeliers, and guests dressed in elaborate costumes and masks mingled about. She felt a flutter of excitement mixed with nerves, realizing that this was her chance to shine and finally outshine Leticia.
As Leticia stepped forward, Amelia watched with growing envy as all eyes turned to her sister. The way the light caught Leticia's ocean blue hair and illuminated her stunning eyes made her look like a goddess descended from heaven. Amelia gritted her teeth, determined not to let Leticia steal the spotlight tonight.
Leticia scanned the room, her gaze landing on familiar faces Delfina and Taylor, both looking radiant in their costumes. She spotted Leonardo across the room, his golden hair and silver eyes unmistakable even behind his mask. He caught her eye and winked before being pulled away by a group of admirers.
Amelia, meanwhile, was already making her rounds, flirting shamelessly with every eligible bachelor in sight. Leticia watched with a mixture of amusement and annoyance as her sister worked the room like a pro.
"She's really something else," a voice murmured beside her. Leticia turned to see Delfina, dressed as a stunning peacock.
"Tell me about it," Leticia sighed.
Delfina linked her arm with Leticia's.
"Come on I prepared some your favorite foods I know you dislike crowded places, hey I was wondering how would like to go to Paris for a fashion show? Mother said that you and Taylor can come along it would be in June 23rd," Delfina said Leticia smiled but her smile was sad because she did not believe she will be here for that she plans to disappear before that.
"Maybe," Leticia said gently.
"Alright let's go," Delfina said as she pulled her best friend along and Leticia smiled.
