The sleek black Aston Martin glided to a stop. Calista exhaled, her shoulders sagging with exhaustion as she stepped out. The hospital visit had drained her more than she had expected.
Orion emerged from the driver's side, his suit still impeccable despite the long afternoon they have both had. As they walked towards the grand entrance, Calista turned to him.
"Thank you coming with see Lyra, "she said softly. "I really appreciate it."
Orion nodded, his expression somber. "Of course. I have to say, she looked quite frail."
Calista's chest tightened at the memory of her sister's pale face. "The doctors are doing everything they can," she replied, trying to sound hopeful. "We just have to trust in their expertise."
As they entered, Orion loosened his tie. "I need to catch up on some work. I'll be in my office if you need anything."
