Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Imperial Wings: Flying Thousands of Miles

Levis checked his diary again, and after confirming there were no issues, he put down his pen.

"It's a pity I don't have any memories from the daytime, otherwise I could have written more," Levis sighed with regret, noting that compared to the 800-character essays in his past exams, today's diary entry was just a piece of cake.

He closed the diary, and his peripheral vision caught a line of text that seemed to have appeared on the flyleaf:

Effort will be rewarded.

"That's a very philosophical statement," Levischuckled.

If effort always brought rewards, how could he have lived such a tiring life in his previous World?

But now, Levis was quite looking forward to this phrase; after all, he now had a cheat device, things were different!

Levis couldn't help but rub his hands, his eyes fixed on the diary, afraid of missing anything.

A cheat device was indeed a cheat device; as soon as the diary was closed, a beam of light suddenly flashed, and whoosh, it shot into Levis's body.

Immediately, Levis felt as if something was flowing through his limbs and bones, and his whole body felt warm, like soaking in a hot spring, extremely comfortable.

After the comfort, Levis couldn't help but get up and move his body, but aside from that moment of pleasure, there seemed to be no other changes.

Levis frowned, and as if not believing it, he moved around again, trying to find something different. However, after repeated attempts, there was indeed nothing special; he neither became as light as a swallow nor as strong as an ox, let alone gaining any superpowers.

"That's it?" Levis's brow furrowed into a knot, looking like an old man on the subway staring at his phone: "What's the point of just that one moment of pleasure? It's not like I don't have hands?"

Unwilling to give up, Levis picked up the diary. As soon as he opened the first page, something like a slot machine suddenly appeared in his mind.

"Oh, right, there's also the lottery!" Levis slapped his head; he had almost forgotten about it, so he quickly immersed himself in the lottery.

The slot machine for the lottery was very ordinary, so ordinary that Levis felt it was a bit crude.

A lever, a horizontal three-frame interface—it couldn't be simpler.

This thing didn't even require Levis to study how to operate it; he understood it at a glance.

He pulled the lever, and the interface indeed started to jump, but the speed was so fast that Levis couldn't see what was passing by.

"Ding! Ding! Ding!"

With three sounds, the interface stopped.

The first was a number: 50.

The second was also a number: 50.

The third was actually a treasure chest.

Levis's eyes immediately lit up; a treasure chest was definitely more appealing than numbers.

"How do I open the treasure chest?" Levis stared intently at the treasure chest, eager to open it and see what was inside.

As soon as he spoke, the treasure chest column in his mind flashed with light, and then a large treasure chest appeared in Levis's mind, with its lid slowly opening.

Under Levis's mental gaze, a blue light cluster gradually emerged from within the treasure chest.

When the light disappeared, inside was something like a pair of White feathered Wings.

"What is this thing?" Levis was curious when suddenly the object disappeared from his mind, then abruptly reappeared before Levis's eyes in reality, miraculously floating in the air.

Levis couldn't help but reach out to touch it. As soon as his finger made contact, an electric current entered his body, and Levis shivered.

[Imperial Arm of Wings: Flight of a Thousand Miles · Mostima]

[Origin: Akame ga Kill World]

[Effect: Wearing it allows you to fly, and you can also shoot feathers to attack enemies]

[Secret Technique: Wings of God, activate energy to shoot extremely high-damage feathers that can easily shred enemies]

"This…" Levis truly didn't know what this was, nor did he know what the Akame ga Kill World was.

But putting aside these details, Levis was quite satisfied with these Wings; at least they looked very cool.

Looks are justice!

Although Levis wasn't obsessed with looks, he was still inevitably biased towards good aesthetics.

"It can fly and attack, that's great!" Levis grew more and more satisfied the more he looked at these cool Wings: "I just wonder how powerful they are?"

The more he looked, the more restless he became. Levis wished he could take them out and try them immediately, but in the end, he strongly held back.

Impatience spoils great plans; Levis was a person with self-control.

"There are still two things, no rush, no rush." Leviscalmed himself down while re-immersing himself in the lottery.

He wasn't quite sure what the two numbers 50 meant, but he would naturally know once he claimed them.

With a thought, the two 50s disappeared directly, and an even stronger warm current surged through Levis's body. At this moment, Levis felt extremely comfortable.

"Comfortable!" Levis exhaled softly. The effect of these two 50s should be similar to the previous moment of pleasure, but the sensation of comfort they brought Levis was clearly stronger.

The tingling sensation made Levis unable to resist getting up and moving his body.

This time, he finally felt a difference; his whole body felt light, yet he seemed to have inexhaustible strength, and every movement felt very easy and pleasant.

"I feel like my whole being has been sublimated!" Levis finished his push-ups and got up, not feeling tired at all, but rather very comfortable.

After jumping around for a while, Levisremembered the cool Wings again. Now he could go out and try them.

Returning to his desk, just as he was about to close the diary, Levis's gaze shifted, and he found that the flyleaf had changed again.

[Level: 2]

[Growth Value: 110 / 125]

[Ability Points: 1]

[Talent: None]

[Skill: None]

"This looks a bit like a character panel?" Levis's gaze flickered between the [Talent] and [Skill] sections: "There are also talents and skills, so maybe I can even draw things like superpowers in the future!"

This made Levis even more excited for the future.

But now, what Levis was most looking forward to were those Wings; he really wanted to experience the feeling of flying, the kind where he didn't rely on his hands.

Levis walked back to the Wings, [Imperial Arm of Wings: Flight of a Thousand Miles · Mostima].

He reached out to touch them, and with a thought.

Whoosh!

The Wings in front of him suddenly disappeared, and a flash of light appeared behind Levis, as a pair of White Wings, like an Angel's Wings, gracefully unfolded.

With a thought from Levis, his White Wings didn't even need to flap; his entire body was already off the ground, slowly floating up.

"I'm really flying?" Although he was less than three feet off the ground, Levis's sensation of his feet being in the air was very clear, and crucially, he didn't feel any sense of burden.

Levis continued to rise a bit more; he wanted to go higher. Unfortunately, the room's height didn't allow it; any higher and he'd hit the ceiling, so he reluctantly lowered his height.

Three feet off the ground, Levis excitedly flew around the room, constantly dodging various obstacles, having a blast.

Soon, Levis was no longer content with being confined to such a small space in the room; he wanted to go out and play.
