Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Danny Rand

Inside a building, two security guards escorted a scruffy, bearded man out.

The two sides were engaged in a heated exchange; no, that's not right, it should be that only the scruffy, bearded man was incessantly spewing saliva, and the two security guards didn't bother to acknowledge him.

Levis found it quite interesting; so early in the morning, he could actually watch some excitement.

After the bearded man was pushed out the door, the two security guards quickly closed the door, leaving the man looking bewildered.

Levis observed that calling him merely a scruffy, bearded man might not be comprehensive enough; another adjective should be added: ragged.

For such a fellow, with such an appearance, walking into a corporate building, his treatment was imaginable.

After his bewilderment, the bearded man observed the interior of the building through the transparent glass door, then immediately slipped back in.

Then, the bearded man indeed started fighting with the security guards inside, and Levisexclaimed, "Goodness gracious!"

In broad daylight, under a clear sky, to just barge in like that—this young man is truly stubborn, I admire him!

However, the bearded man was indeed very capable in a fight, knocking down all the security guards with a few punches and kicks, and smoothly entering the elevator.

After about less than 10 minutes, the bearded man was once again pushed out the door by four or five security guards.

Levis finished the hamburger in his hand and walked over in a pleasant mood.

"Hey, want one?" Levis said, handing over a hamburger.

The bearded man glanced at Levis, then his gaze quickly shifted to the hamburger in his hand.

Without realizing it, after Levis asked, the bearded man actually felt a bit hungry.

"Thank you!" The bearded man thanked him and took the hamburger, devouring it.

Levis smiled, looked at the building next to them, and said, "Buddy, even if you don't have money to eat, you can't just barge into someone else's building!"

"No..." The bearded man, with his mouth full of hamburger, explained awkwardly while eating, "This is my family's building, I just... I just haven't been back for a long time, there's a bit of a misunderstanding, just a small misunderstanding."

Levis didn't care whether the bearded man's words were true or false; he was interested in how good the bearded man was at fighting.

After the bearded man finished his hamburger, Levis handed him a cup of cola and said, "Let's find a place to sit, and you can tell me your story."

The bearded man was not polite; he accepted whatever Levis gave him, showing no concept of "a gentleman does not accept charity."

The two walked into a hamburger shop, eating and chatting; what Levis had just bought was from a nearby street vendor, and he hadn't eaten his fill either.

After eating and drinking to their content, Levisalso understood the general situation.

The bearded man said he was Danny Rand, the young Master of Rand Group, and that the building earlier was his family's, named Rand Building.

Of course, Levis had no impression of Rand Group; perhaps his original body didn't pay much attention to such things. But as Levis listened to Danny's narration, he would nod in agreement from time to time, which deeply moved Danny.

They were complete strangers, yet Levis not only treated him to food and drink but also patiently listened to his story, and most importantly, he highly validated what Danny said, making him the only warm current flowing in the familiar yet strange city of New York.

"So, what are you planning to do?" Levis looked at Danny and asked, "Are you going to keep barging into the Rand Building?"

Uh... Danny paused; he hadn't thought about what to do either. Continuing to barge in was definitely not going to work, so he looked at Levis and asked, "Neo, do you have any ideas?"

Levis didn't speak, fiddling with the paper napkin, looking at the table, lost in thought.

"Danny, do you have anything that can prove you are Danny Rand?" Levis looked at Danny.

"Let me think." Danny also began to ponder what could prove his identity.

Levis added, "Don't limit yourself to objects; people can also work, preferably acquaintances everyone recognizes!"

Danny nodded, continuing to think. Suddenly, Danny thought of something and excitedly said, "I still remember my old home!"

"Alright, then let's go to your home and look; perhaps we can find something useful."

So the two went together to Danny's old home.

Looking at the house in front of them, Levisglanced at Danny. Regardless of whether what Danny said was true or false, at least his taste in this regard was truly not bad!

"I used to live here!" Danny looked very excited, pointing to the ground and saying, "Look, I wrote this!"

Levis took a look; it must have been written before the cement dried: Danny, Mom, Dad.

"Okay, how do we get in?" Levis observed the surroundings; this was a private detached apartment building, and there was no place to climb over the wall to get in.

Danny stepped forward and pressed the doorbell, but there was no response. Then, he reached out and deftly pulled out a key from the small balcony above the door.

"Look, it's still the same as before!" Danny smiled happily.

Levis shrugged. It seemed that Danny was indeed very likely the Master of this house.

The two entered the house, and Danny quickly began searching. Levis didn't help, as it wasn't his home, and he didn't know what could prove Danny's identity, so he just casually looked around.

Walking to the bookshelf, Levis saw a group photo: a man and a woman, both handsome and beautiful. But in Levis's eyes, the man was automatically ignored—he wasn't as handsome as him anyway—so he preferred to look at the beautiful woman for eye candy.

Before he could look for a few more moments, he heard a few barks, presumably Danny had attracted the dog's attention.

Sure enough, when Levis walked over, he saw Danny staring at a large black dog. Levis felt that the man and the dog were probably having a heart-to-heart conversation.

"How is it, did you find anything?" Seeing Dannysuccessfully close the door, Levis asked.

"Come here and see!" Danny waved his hand.

Levis walked over, and Danny pointed to a photo in front of him, smiling, "This is a photo of us when we were little. Look, this is me with my Mom and Dad, and next to us are Ward and Joy, and Uncle Harold."

Levis nodded, then took out the group photo in his hand and asked, "Are these them?"

Danny took the group photo and said, "Yes, this is Ward and Joy, I've seen them before."

Levis nodded silently, remembering that the beautiful woman was named Joy.

Afterward, Danny took Levis to the rooftop, where they stood for a while.

Levis, on the other hand, looked around. It truly was a detached house; within ten meters, there was no building taller than this one.

As the two were walking downstairs, Levissuddenly grabbed Danny's arm and whispered, "Wait, there's movement!"

Before Danny could react, they heard the sound of a door opening, followed by footsteps.

"What are you doing?" Levis was momentarily distracted, and Danny had actually taken a few more steps forward, even leaning over to look downstairs, showing no fear of being discovered.

They were trespassing, after all; if they were shot, no one would cry foul.

The autumn daytime in New York seemed particularly short; Levis felt that the day had barely begun before it was already dark.

In a Chinese restaurant, Danny was wolfing down a table full of food.

Levis had eaten a few bites and was mostly full, mainly because it wasn't quite to his taste and he didn't have much appetite; compared to the modified U.S. style, he was still more accustomed to authentic Chinese cuisine.

"You can stay at my place tonight."

In Danny's current state, he was completely a vagrant, naturally without food or lodging. Since Levis had already treated him for a day, one night's stay wouldn't make much difference.

"This... will it be an imposition?" Danny hesitated a little.

"It's fine, it's just me anyway." After saying that, Levis remembered that he still had inheritance tax to pay, and added with a smile, "Besides, that house might not even be mine, so feel free to stay!"

Danny nodded happily, but he only took Levis's words as a joke. How could someone invite him to stay in a house that wasn't even theirs!
