The humiliation and anger make me insane.
That must be why, instead of going home, I am standing in front of Jade's door in the middle of the night, trembling, restless, desperate. My hands shake, and my heart pounds like it's trying to escape my chest.
I knock twice, sharp, urgent.
The door creaks open. He is there. Jade. Only a boxer clings to him, and the lines of his chest and abs catch the dim, yellow hallway light, sharp and impossibly perfect. His scent hits me first; warm, intoxicating, wild and I forget everything else.
I don't wait. I throw myself at him, face burying in the hollow of his neck, drinking him in like I've starved for it.
Oh, I missed this.
"Never thought you were going to make it. I'm glad." His voice is low, smooth, dangerous. His large hands roam my body immediately, sliding over my back, down to my hips, gripping, claiming.
