" Uncle Philip!! " Paisley called out loudly as she went to meet him as he came out from the car.
" Princess, you've grown up quite fast, can't even give this buddy a good hug " he pouted.
"Ok " she said as she came closer to him and gave him a good hug.
" More like it. Did you miss me? " he asked as she withdrew from the embrace.
" Quite a few times, I've been busy that I barely had time to think about myself ." she replied while she yawned trying to show sign of stress.
"Ok, well let's get going, your aunt already prepared your breakfast, we shouldn't get there late should we".
"Ok, I'll put the bag in the trunk. " Paisley said as she opened the trunk while her uncle went to start the car.
" Good to go?" her uncle asked while looking at her through the rearview mirror as she got into the car.
"Yeah" Paisley replied and her uncle immediately started the car and drove off down the road leaving only specks of dusts as a trail.
" Has she left? " Isla who came down after hearing the sound of an engine starting asked her father with a kind tone hiding her true feeling.
"Yes, she would be staying with her grandfather for the next two to three months. " he replied her.
" Mhmm, she didn't even greet me goodbye before leaving " Isla said in a sad tone likely to gain sympathy from her father.
" Don't take it to heart dear, she was probably in a rush " Robert said comforting her. " Your mother has the breakfast already made, head to the kitchen to fetch yours before the north wind does it for you."
"Ok dad " she replied before heading to the kitchen.
Meanwhile in an SUV speeding through the the road, Paisley sat inside with her uncle driving with one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding his coffee.
"How has things been going lately, heard you finished your course on Surgery last five months. " Uncle Philip said to her as she took a glance at her through the rearview mirror.
"Yeah" she replied with a faint expression, not sure of what to say about her experience in the outside world. She looked out the window at the passing rocks and trees on this lone road, wondering if her sister was actually just evil from the beginning.
" How's the pack doing recently, the last time I heard information about you guys, it seemed you guys were improving the technological welfare of the pack"
" Hmmm, you could say so, the pack's being undergoing tremendous advancement in technology these past few years " He replied.
" Heard you also studied art of combat " he continued, "how skilled are you in fighting?" he asked.
"Enough to at least stay at the war front without being killed easily" Paisley said and her uncle chuckled deeply. "Uncle watch out!!" Paisley said while her uncle immediately looked back at the front and skillful dodged the speeding car coming ahead.
"Whew, we're almost there, just a few minutes ahead" he said as he increased his speed.
After a few minutes they arrived at the packs city.
The gigantic gate was opened by the soldiers who were armed and guarding the gate from inside. Philip drove the car in and after driving for a few minutes, he arrived at the Old Beta's residence.
As the car pulled over at the house which was the residential building of the Drake's. A woman came out from the house with a warm smile as Paisley steeped out of the car along with her uncle.
"Aunt Becky!"
"Paisley!!" the woman called out with much excitement, " I've missed you " she continued as Paisley came over to her with a warm smile and them hugged her, " You seem to have lost some weight since I last saw you " she said as she let go of Paisley.
"That was ten years ago honey " Philip said as he chuckled hearing his wife's word.
" You're a man so it's normal for you not to understand." she said as she glared at him while he laughed and looked away. " Come on in dear." she said to Paisley as they entered into the house. "So how's things been going on at Silver Summit, hope those two mother and daughter didn't cause you any trouble recently." Aunt Becky asked.
" Can't actually say can i." Paisley replied while she scoffed. "Aunt, where's my cousin?" she asked as she couldn't smell any other scent in the house.
"Probably with the Alpha handling packs matter. Don't mind him, that trouble maker would be back by noon, it's just a minor issue I heard." Aunt Becky replied. "You're Grandfather is in the study having tea and reading, you should go see him first, once you're done seeing him do make sure to hurry down for breakfast, I made your favourite egg noodles and tea"
"Ok, I'll go greet grandpa now" Paisley said as she hurried up the stairs to the library.
The scent of old parchment and polished mahogany filled the air as she stepped into the library, the elegant shelves lined the walls, filled with ancient texts of the packs history, in the light of the library sat her grandfather, his presence as commanding as ever, his sharp gaze already fixed strongly on her before she even spoke.
Swallowing her breath for a fraction of a second she came closer,
"Grandfather" she said.
'Thump' the sound of the fast hitting of the divided pages of the book came out as he closed the book he was reading, his eyes still fixed on her, not cold or distant, rather just thoughtful.
" You arrived already "
She nodded glancing around the room, the book were just lined up as she remembered, her grandfather still had the knack of maintaining a single pattern of book arrangement. She leaned closer, waiting for him to say something more.
A moment passed before her leaned back, his fingers tapping against the closed boom on the desk, he looked at her carefully, his gaze more gentle and pure.
" This place is yours, as much as it was your mother's. You should eat, I know you must have not eaten before coming here. " he said.
She nodded, turning back and leaving the room down the stairs to the living room and to the kitchen. The sweet smell of breakfast lingered in the kitchen, her aunt was busy with the breakfast while the others were cleaning the kitchen.
Her aunt turned to looked at her as she entered the kitchen, with a smile she glanced back at what she was doing,
" Paisley, go sit at the table, dinner would be ready In a second ".
" Ok" she said as she went to the table to sit.
Her aunt came with the tray of breakfast in her hands, she placed the tray on the table and handed over the plate to her.
"You've always liked egg noodles and tea as breakfast in the morning " she said as she placed the breakfast in front of her niece.
" Thank you aunty" Paisley replied as she took the fork and scooped some noodles in her mouth.
"You look rather pale than usual, tell me did something happen while you were in the pack?" Aunt Becky asked referring to Silver Summit.
"Na, just some old time stress, it'll be gone in a few days." she replied easing her aunt's worries.
"Ok." Aunt Becky replied. "I have something to do now, try settling in, your cousin would be here soon."
Paisley nodded with a smile while her aunt left. As she was busy nabbing on the noodles, her phone rang, she looked at the caller ID and her expression changed, she picked the call while placing the phone on the table.
"Hello, a subtle voice came out from the phone ".
