Chapter 7 - Morning Mischief.

The morning sunlight spilled through the floor-to-ceiling windows of Tina's mansion, casting warm streaks over the polished wooden floors. Tina padded across the living room in a soft pastel pink oversized hoodie, the sleeves slightly swallowing her hands, and cream-colored leggings that hugged her legs just enough to be comfy yet cute. Her fuzzy socks with pastel polka dots made soft tapping sounds as she moved, and her platinum hair was loosely tied in a messy bun, a few strands framing her mischievous, ice-blue eyes. She hummed softly, scrolling through her phone while sipping from a mug of steaming coffee, completely oblivious to the way her morning aura seemed to wrap the room in warmth. In the adjacent bedroom, Andrew groaned, stretching under the soft covers. His white fitted long-sleeve thermal shirt clung lightly to his toned frame, and his grey lounge pants hung loosely with a soft cotton drape, the drawstring untied. His bare feet shuffled against the floor as he caught sight of Tina. Despite his messy hair and sleep-heavy eyes, the sight of her in her cozy hoodie caused an unexpected flutter in his chest.

"Mm... morning."

He mumbled, voice thick with sleep, dragging himself toward the kitchen.Tina looked up, smiling brightly.

"Good morning, sleepyhead! Coffee?"

He smirked, running a hand through his tousled hair.

"You know me well enough for someone I just met."

Neko Neko, perched on the couch in his tiny pastel-blue hoodie, let out a high-pitched squeak, hopping down like a miniature drama king demanding attention. His plush shark dragged along the couch, claws clicking softly against the polished floor. Tina sighed dramatically, crouching to scoop him up. The koala wriggled in her arms, tiny claws tapping her arms like drumbeats, clearly displeased but she ignored him.

"So Andrew, how was your night... or, well, morning, I guess?"

Tina asked, setting Neko Neko down on the couch.

"Ugh... not long enough. Hmm... where's your butler?"

Tina crossed her arms, feigning exasperation.

"Well, a certain koala finished my ice cream."

"You mean the one he just bought?"

Andrew raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah... me and Neko Neko were supposed to finish it together last night to prank Elijah, but he gobbled it all up alone!"

Tina exclaimed, giving Neko Neko a dramatic glare. The koala squeaked indignantly, dragging his plush shark along the couch. Tina threw her hands up in mock frustration.

"Oh, so you're saying it's my fault for sleeping and forgetting about the plan?"

She huffed, glaring at Neko Neko as though daring him to argue. Andrew muttered under his breath.

"That still doesn't answer my question..."

Tina narrowed her eyes at Neko Neko, sticking her tongue out slightly before huffing and turning toward the counter.

"Well, Elijah went to buy another one."

Andrew blinked as the room then fell eerily and awkwardly quiet, the only sound the soft hum of the coffee machine. Luckily, Elijah returned a few minutes later, dressed in his casual butler attire:crisp white shirt with sleeves rolled up,slim-fit black trousers, and polished black loafers. His hair was neatly combed back, and his calm, calculating gaze swept over the room as he carried a bag.

"Good timing, dude."

Andrew muttered, rubbing his eyes.Elijah placed the bag carefully on the table.

"Here's your London diary double chocolate ice cream, Miss Tina and also your chocolate-and-milk mix chips."

"Yes! And Neko Neko, you better not put your paws in this!"

Tina warned, pointing at the tiny koala. The koala squeaked in protest, ears twitching, and Tina's cheeks flushed slightly.

"Oh... you didn't want it anyway? Well, let's see how long you hold out without the ice cream."

Andrew glanced at Elijah, whispering.

"Can you explain why she talks to the koala like that?"

"She always understands him."

Elijah replied instantly, voice calm as ever. Tina set the ice cream on the table, glaring at Neko Neko.

"Nope, you're not eating mine this time! I worked hard to get this one, well I actually didn't but still."

The koala let out a high-pitched squeak of pure indignation, tiny claws tapping the table in protest. Tina shook her head with mock exasperation, secretly enjoying the chaos. Andrew's lips twitched into a smirk. He leaned against the counter, watching Tina fuss over the koala, feeling a warm flutter in his chest he wasn't ready to admit aloud.

"So... are we actually going to eat this, or are you two going to keep bickering like tiny children?"

He asked, voice teasing but soft.

"Oh, we'll eat... eventually. But first, Neko Neko needs to behave!"

Tina declared, wagging a finger at the koala. The koala, still in protest mode, flopped dramatically onto the couch, squeaking softly in what could only be described as koala indignation, and glared at both Andrew.

"*Hmph* It's mine."

Andrew chuckled, shaking his head.

"You two are ridiculous."

"Ridiculous? Moi?"

Tina tilted her head, one eyebrow raised, playful and utterly childlike.

"Never!"

The trio settled into a cozy chaos: Tina nibbling ice cream, Neko Neko pretending to sulk, and Andrew observing quietly. The sunlight glinted off Tina's hoodie, highlighting the soft pastel tones against the polished floors, while Andrew's relaxed posture radiated his ease-though his eyes never left her, secretly savoring each small motion. After a few minutes of calm, Tina's expression darkened slightly as she realized Neko Neko's attention was still wandering.

"Ugh! That little monster."

She huffed, poking his tiny hoodie.

"You're not getting any of my ice cream! Not even a crumb!"

Neko Neko let out a tiny squeak of outrage, clawing the air dramatically. Andrew couldn't help but smirk at the mini drama unfolding before him.

"He's angry at you, not me."

He commented, crossing his arms. Tina wagged a finger at him.

"Don't encourage him! I need him to learn some respect."

Elijah, observing silently, finally stepped forward with a measured calm.

"He understands the tone of your voice perfectly, Miss Tina. You could probably give a lecture to the city and he would listen."

Tina smirked triumphantly.

"Exactly my point."

Andrew laughed, the sound low and warm.

"You're like a tiny general commanding an army of one koala."

Tina tilted her head, squinting playfully.

"An army that's clearly unappreciative."

Neko Neko squeaked again, hopping onto Tina's lap, tugging gently at the hem of her hoodie as though retaliating.

"Oh! You little traitor."

She exclaimed, but her lips curled into a smile despite the mock outrage. Andrew leaned closer, eyes sparkling with amusement.

"I think he likes you... in his own way."

Tina rolled her eyes dramatically.

"In his own way? That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said about him."

Minutes ticked by, filled with laughter, squeaks, and the soft sounds of spoons clinking against bowls. The mansion felt alive with warmth, mischief, and quiet, chaotic intimacy. For a few hours, the world outside didn't exist-there was only Tina, Andrew,Neko Neko, and the comforting, chaotic rhythm of a morning spent in each other's presence. Andrew glanced at Tina and asked suspiciously.

"Where did you sleep last night?"

Tina avoided his gaze, clearly understanding what he was trying to say.

"Huh?...this house,of course.

"That's not what I meant, I mean you weren't in our...bedroom last night when I came back so where did you sleep?"

The word 'our bedroom' was still hard for him to digest.

"Definitely not with Elijah or Neko Neko...anyways,you're not going to work today, right?"

She asked, clearly trying to avoid the subject. Andrew looked at her weirdly for a while then answered.

"Well,I'm not but this isn't even the time I go to work so why would you ask me that?"

"You told me you have Mondays and Tuesdays off and today is Monday and I happen to also have a day off."

"I thought you didn't have off days."

"...Doesn't matter."

She hurriedly replied then clapped her hands and said with a gleeful look.

"Since we both have free time, how about we spend it together ?"

Tina looked at Andrew who about to say no but she wouldn't take no for an answer. With a hopeful look, her eyes glistened, tears pooling at the edges, as if the world balanced on his next words. Andrew was in his own thoughts.

"~ugh, why is she looking at me like the next words I say depends on whether she lives or die,I'm obviously not gonna say yes to spending my off day with her...But hold on, if I spend the day with her then I might be able to find out secrets about her that I can use to stop the engagement...ughhhh but spending my whole day with her is gonna be tough. ~"

Andrew's eyes darted to Tina, trying to read her, but the hopeful, glistening look in her ice-blue eyes made him hesitate. She was radiating this chaotic mix of innocence and determination, and he couldn't help but flinch at just how persuasive it was. He sighed.

"Alright...fine."

Tina's face lit up like fireworks. She let out a squeal of delight, bouncing slightly on her heels.

"Yay! I promise it'll be fun! Totally fun! And no boring adult stuff, just chaos and mischief, okay?"

He muttered and quietly sighed.

"I bet. So where are we going to?"

Tina's face turned pale.

"Umm...can't we just have fun at home."

Andrew noticed the change of her facial color and quickly noted down 'not wanting to go out-weird' on the note in his mind.

"~Hmm...let's dig deeper~"

"Why?"

Elijah who was standing behind the kitchen counter replied him.

"Miss Tina isn't able to go t-"

Before he had the chance to finish his sentence,Tina glared at him which made him immediately quiet.

"~Okay,now that's total weird behavior, I've got to push harder.~ "

Andrew stretched casually, letting his arm rest near hers, making sure it looked completely innocent.

"I've been hoping to go to the amusement park for a while."

Andrew said slowly, leaning a little closer.

"Umm...As Elijah was trying to say before-"

"You mean before you glared at him to shut up."

"Glared at him,what?...anyways as he was trying to say, before he 'mysteriously' stopped, I have a cold so we can't go to the amusement park."

"Right...but can't you wear a mask."

His tone was casual, like he wasn't fishing at all, but the gleam in his eye betrayed him. Tina blinked at him, tilting her head in that innocent way that made him want to groan.

"Nope...Right,you were asking about our room change before,No?"

Andrew glanced at her strangely.

"~Seems like she's trying to avoid the subject by using another subject that she was trying to avoid, looks like we can't keep pushing her and I really want to find out why she changed rooms~ So why did you change rooms ?"

Neko Neko's Mini-Theatre:

THUMP... THUMP... THUMP

Tiny claws on polished floor.

Purposeful paws. Vengeance.

Neko Neko enters-hood slightly rumpled, tail flicking like a metronome.

He surveys the humans. Yes, both of them. Dangerous. Unpredictable.

Tina is... smiling. Too cheerful. Dangerous.

Andrew is... smirking. Too curious. More dangerous.

What is this 'coffee' they sip? Smells like betrayal. I must watch.

Miss Tina bends down, picks up the tiny toy... no, wait-she's scooping ME up?

I hissed a warning-tiny claws extended.

No effect. She giggles. As expected, she is oblivious. Typical.

Andrew moves closer. Tail flicks faster. Paws tap cushions.

I stare. Long. Deep. Penetrating.

He flinches. Good. Small victory.

He thinks he is charming. Cute. He is... tolerated.

The forbidden dessert is brought. Ice cream.

My instincts scream: ATTACK.

She hisses "not for you!"

I squeak indignantly, huff, and pretend to ignore.

Mission: sabotage human breakfast. Failed.

I leap onto my throne-her lap, naturally.

Observing. Judging. Plotting.

They do not know what they have unleashed.

But I do. Always.
