(SCENE)
Clover Winslow won the last round of the first day of The Grand Spellblade Showcase.
After Clover's victory, she went to the medical station to ensure she was fully healed before speaking with James.
Clover waves at James when she sees him in the stands, and James lightly waves back.
Clover then heads to the medical station after getting Jame's acknowledgement.
(10 MINUTES LATER)
Clover arrives at the medical station and has her injury treated.
(MINUTES LATER)
Clover was done at the medical station and started walking out, so she could go find James.
To Clover's supprised, James was waiting outside the medical station for her.
Clover's Inner Monologue: "James is waiting for me? He hasn't done this before." She thinks whilst blushing.
James looks up from his seat and sees Clover standing at the door.
James asks her if she's alright, and Clover tells him that she's fine.
James asks if she's sure because her face seems a little red.
Clover reassures James that she's fine in a cutesy way and asks James if they could start going elsewhere while talking.
James tells her it's alright and gets up from his seat so they can start walking.
(SCENE)
James and Clover walk around for a while and talk about the showcase and their general lives and how things have been going for them over the years.
(They hadn't spoken of it much, as James normally dodged it, but it seemed as if he started opening up a little to Clover. )
(Whilst this was happening, Fae had seen them walking around and talking, so he decided to follow them around for a period of time.)
[TIMESKIP]
It's the days leading up to The Grand Spellblade Showcase, and James is in class like normal. Their teacher, Willow Winterbourne, talks to them about the showcase and recaps the final results of it.
Willow Winterbourne: "It's been a while since The Grand Spellblade Showcase concluded and since our class got second overall, the school has decided to give us a little reward. The reward won't be as great as the first-place team, but it's still better than nothing. The class will be going on a trip to another Nation, where some of the schools that were participating in the showcase are, so we can have joint classes and see some of their futuristic technology that they have. In a few weeks, before your last days of middle school, we'll all head out. The trip will last about a week, so you all best be prepared.'
(WEEKS PASS)
James' class goes on the class trip to another nation and school for the week. On their way, they didn't really encounter anything noteworthy, but James did feel a presence for a short time that came from an old ruin that no one explored anymore.
After a few hours of travel (They used advanced magic to get to their location faster.) James and his class finally got to their location.
They had gone to Azalia's South Set Academy. At the school, they got settled into shared dorms that had been provided as a courtesy from Azlias's S.S. Academy.
At the school, James and his classmates all got settled into their dorms and went to the school's field so they could be told what would happen over the duration of the week.
When James got to the field, he saw all of his other classmates around the field, along with the school's own students.
(MINUTES LATER)
Clover got to the field and started looking around for James.
Clover saw James standing alone, at the back of all the students, and started to approach him, but then saw one of their classmates approach him first. She gave it a minute to see what would happen, but after a few seconds, she saw that their classmate had left James alone, so she decided to go up to him once more.
Clover got to James' location and greeted him all cutesy like.
James greeted Clover back and asked her how she was, along with what she thought of what they were going to do.
Clover told James that she was doing lovely now that she saw him, along with asking how he was, before answering him on what she thought about what they were doing at the school.
James blushed a little, then cleared his throat and told her he was well.
Clover proceeded to tell James that she thought that their joint school lesson and training was quite interesting and honestly thought it would be a big help, and allow for both of the school's students to grow exponentially, especially since the way magic works has been changing.
(SCENE)
Clover and James continued to chat for a while up until their school and the school they had been/are at's representatives showed up to explain how things would go for them during their stay.
Their school reps said that during their stay, they would be having joint lessons on magic and getting the privilege to test some new types of revolutionary magic systems that the school has kept top secret for a while, but their soon going to release them to the public.
While they had been explaining this, they also said that they would be an exchange program between the schools, so if anyone wants to switch to either school, they can during the duration that their joint lessons.
(TIMESKIP)
The joint lessons between Azlias's S.S. Academy and Zell's M&C Academy have concluded.
Over that course of time, James and his classmates, along with the other school's students, used a new type of magic for a short period of time.
The magic came from a device and showed a type of UI that James was quite familiar with. It was a game-type UI from James's previous life, but it didn't seem like it did anything for James; he could barely use it, so he stopped bothering. However, for most of the other students, it increased their casting times along with making their spells more explosive and magic-dense.
Other than the new magic devices and a few small things here and there, James and his classmates did some training and learned some new magic theory that they hadn't had before.
[MAGOUR TIMESKIP/NEW ARC]
It's been a great many years since The Grand Spellblade Showcase, and James has also completed high school in his period of time.
James has made some friends in high school after years of being belittled by most of those around him.
James and his friends are adventurers and still reside in Zalon.
James and Clover are not dating due to their family matters, but they do couple of things, even though they aren't dating/
James left the Belfork family, or was more so banished from it, and while being shunded by everyone around him, he didn't really try and save he's relationshipz as everyone treated him as lesser and generally looked down on and beat him up, because of this, James has a high level of resentment and killing intent towards he's so called family members.
(SCENE)
James and his friends are adventurers who take on medium to high difficulty tasks. One day, his friends tell him that they're going to explore some old ruins for some big pay.
James tells them that he doesn't mind the mission, and they should go.
James' friends say that they'll go on the following day and tell him to prepare well.
(THE FOLLOWING DAY)
James is in his normal gear and got some extra health potions and recovery potions with him. He then goes to meet his friends at their usual meet-up location (A guild) so that they can head out to explore to ruins.
After a few hours, they eventually get to the ruins and start exploring them, and looking around like they normally would. At some point in time, they get to a weird, hidden room that one of his companions leads him to.
In the hidden room, he saw a familiar face, one that he didn't really like much, and at the bottom of that face, he saw of someone he liked, maybe even loved dearly.
James Belfork, the F-rank had seen one of the people whom he despiced most in this second life of he's, it was Fae, Fae Harlow, the person who made most of he's school life a living hell just because he got bored, the person who best him up day in and day out, just because he was friends with someone he's liked, the person who shunded him and broke he's body so many times, just cause he could.
James was enraged when he saw him, but he didn't let his anger consume him, at least not yet. James saw that Clover was being held down by Fae, so he didn't unsheathe his sword, but he did shout out to Fae, asking him what he was doing to Clover.
Fae barely heard James call him out, but when he saw him, his face sprang up with a grin, as if he had been waiting he's whole life to see James once more.
At that moment, James 'Friends' all unsheathed their swords. For a moment, James thought it was at Fae, so he also unsheathed his, but he was mistaken, as he had seen that all his 'friends' swords and their magic had all been pointed at him.
James asked his 'friends' what was going on and why their weapons had been pointed at him. None of them replied, and James got a little hot-headed, so he began to shout out, "WHY ARE YOUR WEAPONS POINTED AT ME?". At that moment, Fae began to speak and said, "Well, isn't it obvious, it's because they aren't really your friends" (He grinned). James then asked Fae what he meant, and he explained to James how his so-called 'friends' had all been paid off by him so he could easily keep tabs on James.
James was in shock for a second.
After what felt like forever, James 'friends began to ridicule James and how he ever thought that a loser like him could ever make friends among other very harsh insults that were thrown at him by them.
After they insulted him oh so heavily, James asked Fae what the point of doing all this was and why he hated him so much.
Fae told James that it was because he didn't listen to what he told him in middle school (Staying away from Clover), so he decided that if he couldn't have her, then no one can.
James shouted and said to Fae, "YOU DID ALL THIS JUST BECAUSE THE GIRL YOU LIKED DIDN'T LIKE YOU BACK BUT LIKED ME!?".
Fad said to James: "Yes, in no world would a girl like Clover ever fall for a useless guy like you, who do you think you are?"
After that, Fae slit Clover's neck, since he had her tied and bound, and then he threw her into a ditch to die.
James' face went white, and he started cursing out Fae and he's 'friends', he started fighting them but got overpowered and beaten up, then thrown into the ruins.
(SCENE)
When James came to, he found himself in the depths of some old ruins that he was going to explore before getting betrayed by those he trusted, and one of the people he hated most in this other world.
James thought to himself and decided that he would avenge Clover's death and horribly murder Fae and those whom he used to call his friends.
(SOME TIME LATER)
James was exploring the ruins and met a few monsters that had considerable strength. Of the time he confronted them, he barely escaped with He's life each time, and he had just been halfway through the ruins, with no real way of getting out without deafening the boss monster of the ruins.
James then continued to venture deeper into the ruin. He eventually got to a monster that he could overpower or escape from, and was left on the brink of death after being thrown far into a weird room by the monster after it attacked him.
In the room, James was bleeding out and he's consciousness was slipping, he thought to himself and realised that he was going to die for the second time, without ever really achieving anything in either of he's two lives, and realizing that he was cursed and couldn't even avenge the person he's liked, and cared for dearly, at that moment James started crying, tears shedding from his eyes, with him unable to control his emotion properly and letting it all out.
I'm the seconds before James' second death as he was losing consciousness, he felt a familiar presence and energy, similar to what he's had felt back when he was going to the joint training and lessons at Azalia's S.S Academy, he then heard a weird voice after a while, it said 'Boy, do you want power?', James looked around, eyes white and barely there, then answered the voice, 'Power?' The voice said 'Yes, do you want power?'
James hesitated for a moment, but thought to himself and wondered what the worst that could happen, so he responded and told the weird voice that he indeed wanted power.
The voice then told James that it would give him power. The next second, James blacked out and awoke in a new area. He quickly got up and started moving his head and looking around, while trying to remember what had happened to him. He got a glimpse at his friend's betrayal and Clover's death, then got enraged once more. After a moment, a game-type system popped up in front of his face, and he was taken aback. He had seen this type of system before in his past life, and he's currently on it.
