"Hey! What are you tryi~" a voice was heard behind the door.
*Drop*
A man covered in a black mask and with sunglasses made the dash for it. On his shoulder was a man with a suit on him, seemingly unconscious or dead. The man on the mysterious man's shoulder was Karl Armstrong, a scientist/politician who was trying to get more funding for scientific departments to make American education the best in the world. He has just been murdered with no strings attached. This was to shut him up before getting anything serious through the congress.
Karl's POV:
'Where am I? And why don't I feel the pain anymore?' Karl thought.
'Hello, Karl,' an ethereal-sounding voice was heard.
'Who are you?' Karl thought, being unable to speak out at the moment.
'I am a god. I will have to send you back into the past for certain reasons. You are the only one who was capable among the recently deceased to accomplish what I need you to do. I know it will be very difficult, but I would like you to bring up the technological advancements of Earth much before it did in your world. The fact is, the Roman Empire should never have fallen. Due to a few issues from our side, a lot of conflict arose, and to reverse it, my allies and I managed to send you back. My foes will try to sabotage you. We did our best to help you in your younger days, so do take advantage of it,' The god said.
'Umhh, that is a lot to handle, can I have any heads up about what I will face?' Karl asked. His whole life was about improving the technological advancement of humanity, so what god asked of him was right up his alley.
'That I can't tell because even I don't know what you will be facing, all I can tell is for you to be wary and not trust everything you see and hear,' God replied.
'Well, alright, when will I be born?' Karl asked.
'Within a few days, you will be born on January 11th, 1240 AD,' God replied.
January 11th, 1240 CE,
"WAAAH!" A cry of a newborn was heard.
"It's a healthy boy!" A midwife said with a smile.
"Oh! I will name him after his grandfather; he shall be Thomas Corbet!" the father of the child, Robert Corbet, shouted with joy.
"At last, he took his sweet time coming out," the child's mother, Editha, said with a sigh of relief. She had a smile on her face since she had given birth to a child after a very long time in her married life.
A/N:
This is just a pilot. I will start with a burst, but slow it down in the middle.
FYI, the MC's parents are actual people who were of the Corbet's family. I just researched them for the names and got to know some cool facts about them. I recommend that you check it out. Though I did skew the timeline a bit, but it is as intended.
