Chapter 1 - Game Over, Start Again

Somewhere on a world called Earth, in a school buried in the usual boredom of a mid-morning class, a young man with raven-black hair and curious brown eyes sat hunched over his desk—not taking notes, not listening to the teacher—but completely immersed in his handheld gaming console.

Meet Wes Walker.

To his classmates, he was a walking contradiction—a guy who never took life seriously, yet somehow never truly lost at anything. Goofy, charming, annoyingly brilliant, and dramatically prone to posing like an anime protagonist during history lessons. Today was no different.

His thumbs flew across the buttons, blasting digital monsters with magic bullets as he grinned.

"Alright! Triple reload! Boosted shot—critical hit!" he narrated to himself.

On his screen, his pixelated character sprinted across a neon-lit battlefield, dodging fireballs and launching glowing bullets from an oversized gun. "Boom! Take that, Death Mecha Titan 2.0!"

His face lit up as the enemy's health bar dropped. "Just a little more! C'mon, give me the gacha drop!"

From the back of the room, a student groaned. "Ugh, he's doing it again…"

"Why does he even come to school?" someone whispered.

"It's like he's allergic to class," said another.

A girl near the window snickered. "At least he's entertaining. I kinda want to know if he'll win this time."

"Still, it's annoying," one muttered. "How does the teacher let him get away with it?"

The teacher didn't. Not today.

"WES WALKER!" the teacher's voice boomed across the room like a final boss entrance.

Wes didn't flinch. Without even looking up, he held up one hand. "Five more minutes, sensei. I'm about to beat the boss, and the fate of my party depends on me."

The class erupted in laughter. Even the quiet kids snorted. Some shook their heads in disbelief. A few facepalmed.

From two rows back, someone let out an annoyed sigh. Scarlett Hayes.

With long crimson-red hair tied into a high ponytail and sharp emerald eyes full of both judgment and concern, she glared at Wes as if she could incinerate him with pure frustration.

"Idiot…" she muttered, rolling her eyes. Her black ribbon twitched with every movement of her hair as she leaned back in her seat, arms crossed.

Scarlett Hayes, childhood best friend, secret tsundere, and perhaps the only person who could regularly knock sense into Wes—literally.

The teacher marched toward Wes, looking like he might actually breathe fire. But just before he could unleash another verbal flamethrower—

RRRIIIINNNGGGGG!

The school bell rang.

The teacher groaned. "Alright, students. Class dismissed. Go home. Try not to rot your brains in front of screens like some people."

Chairs scraped the floor as students stood, talking about after-school plans and heading toward the door.

"Man, that guy's insane," a student muttered.

"Seriously, who plays video games in the middle of math?"

"He's got guts, though. I'd never survive the teacher's wrath."

"Still… that game looked cool. What was he playing?"

Wes didn't move. Still grinning, still gaming. "Let's gooo! Last wave cleared! MVP Wes saves the day again."

"YOU IDIOT!!!"

WHAM!

Pain exploded at the top of Wes's head as a fist connected with his skull.

"OWWWW! WHAT THE HELL!?" he shouted, holding his head.

He spun around to see Scarlett standing there, arms akimbo, emerald eyes blazing.

"You absolute moron!" she snapped.

"OW! AGAIN!?" he whined.

"Stop playing video games in class, idiot! How do you expect to graduate if you're acting like a goblin every day?"

"Pfft. Who needs school when I've got elite gamer instincts?" he said, dramatically placing one hand on his heart. "Besides, the fate of the digital world needed me."

Scarlett's aura flared with visible irritation. She cracked her knuckles slowly. Menacingly.

Wes started sweating. "O-Okay okay! C'mon, Scarlett, don't get violent. You're beautiful, like… like a fire goddess with justice thighs—NO WAIT I MEANT EYES!"

"DON'T EMBARRASS ME, YOU IDIOT!" she shrieked, face turning bright red as she hit him on the head again.

Wes crumpled to the floor, groaning. "I see a light… Is that you, monster queen?"

"What did you just call me!?" she growled.

"Queen! I meant queen! Beautiful like a goddess queen!" Wes corrected rapidly.

Scarlett narrowed her eyes. "That's what I thought, idiot."

Wes slowly stood up, rubbing his head. "Ow… You've been working out again. Your strength's getting terrifying."

"Let's just go home," she muttered.

"Alright, alright," he said, stretching dramatically as they walked down the school steps into the city streets. The sun was warm, the air crisp.

The streets buzzed with life—cafes spilling with chatter, neon shop signs glowing under the setting sun, street vendors yelling about takoyaki, ramen, and collectible figures. A giant poster of an anime film towered above a convenience store.

"So," Scarlett asked, "what're you gonna do when you get home?"

"Finish the boss fight. I've almost got the legendary gacha charm drop," Wes grinned.

"You're obsessed," she said.

"Not obsessed. Dedicated. There's a difference."

"You spend more time with fictional girls than real ones."

"Fictional girls don't punch me in the head," Wes said.

Scarlett rolled her eyes. "Because fictional girls don't have to deal with your stupidity."

"Hey, don't knock it until you try my kind of lifestyle. Eat, game, and maybe save the world before bedtime."

"You're lucky you're not failing every class," she said.

"I ace tests when I need to. My brain's like a cheat code. I just pretend to be dumb."

Scarlett shook her head, smiling despite herself. "You're a dork."

"And proud of it."

They crossed a street, lost in their banter.

HOOOOONNNNNKKKK!!!

A speeding truck tore around the corner.

Neither of them saw it coming.

Wes turned his head just in time to see blinding headlights. His mind screamed. But oddly, all he could think about… was Scarlett.

If this is the end… I hope I get to see her again. In another world. Maybe one where we can start over.

Everything went black.

Time passed. How much? Hard to say.

Then—

"Ugh…"

Wes groaned. His eyes fluttered open.

A breathtaking starry night sky greeted him. One filled with two moons, sparkling nebulas, and unfamiliar constellations. Trees nearby shimmered with leaves that glowed faintly blue. The grass beneath him pulsed with soft, warm light, like it was alive.

A crystalline river flowed nearby, its waters casting prismatic colors into the air. Floating rocks lazily drifted in the distance, like gravity had simply given up.

He blinked. "Where… am I?"

He turned his head. Scarlett lay beside him, unconscious.

"Scarlett!" he said, nudging her.

She stirred, groaning. "Ugh… Wes? What happened?"

"I… I don't know. This place…" He helped her sit up.

They both looked around in awe.

"Okay, this is definitely not Earth," Wes said. "Too many moons. Not enough smog."

"It's beautiful," Scarlett whispered.

Wes stood and stretched, looking around. "If I had to guess, I'd say… fantasy world. Definitely magic. Probably RPG mechanics."

Scarlett rubbed her temple. "You think we died?"

"I mean, speeding truck, dramatic fade to black, sudden respawn in sparkly afterlife world. Yeah, checks out."

"So we're isekai protagonists now?" she asked, half-sarcastic.

"Sweet! I call dual-wielding gunslinger class," Wes grinned.

"Can you focus for one second?" Scarlett snapped. "What if we're stuck here?"

"I mean… worst-case scenario, we start from level one and grind our way to the top."

Scarlett gave him a sideways glance. "If this turns into one of your dumb video games, I swear—"

"Then we're gonna need loot, a party, side quests, and romance arcs," Wes cut in cheerfully.

"You're impossible," she muttered.

"And yet you're still here. Destiny?"

"Or punishment," she shot back.

They shared a small laugh, despite the surrealness of the moment.

Then—

"You two have finally awakened."

They turned.

Before them stood a woman on a marble throne at the edge of a floating platform. Tall, radiant, and otherworldly. Her silver hair flowed like water, and her eyes sparkled like galaxies. Behind her, enormous pillars of crystal hovered in the air.

Wes's jaw dropped. "Who… are you?"

The woman smiled gently.

Wes and Scarlett stood frozen, still reeling from the surreal beauty before them.

The radiant woman was unlike anything they had ever seen—an ethereal figure bathed in soft light. Her long, silver-white hair shimmered like strands of moonlight, swaying gently even though there was no breeze. Her eyes—gold and violet—held the depth of galaxies, glowing with quiet mystery. A pristine white and gold gown draped over her form, flowing and fluttering as though it were made of celestial silk itself. And behind her floated a halo—a ring of shifting, luminous light that pulsed in gentle waves.

She giggled softly, her voice a graceful chime.

"Me? I am Lady Seraphina Lumeria, Goddess of Rebirth and Destiny."

Wes and Scarlett's brains short-circuited.

"G-Goddess!?" Scarlett stammered, eyes wide.

Wes blinked multiple times, mouth agape. "Goddess!? As in divine being!? Rebirth and Destiny type!?"

They looked at each other, then back at Seraphina, then back at each other again.

"Okay, this is officially the most anime thing that's ever happened to me," Wes said, dramatically throwing his hands up. "We really did die and get isekai'd. I knew that truck had main-character energy!"

Scarlett flinched. "W-Why are we here? What's happening?"

"Y-Yeah!" Wes said, still rattled. "Did we do something wrong!? Is this punishment!? Or was it because Scarlett's a violent monster!?"

"EXCUSE ME!?" Scarlett shrieked, her face turning crimson.

SMACK!

Her fist slammed down on Wes's head.

"OWWWW!" he screamed, dropping to the glowing grass and rolling dramatically. "My brain! It's shattered! I deserve this pain but still—ow!"

"You earned that, you video game zombie!" she snapped.

Wes clutched his head. "You're just mad 'cause you got hit by the truck second."

She punched him again. "You're a reckless, brainless, delusional little pest!"

Wes groaned. "How did I die and still end up in the same abusive relationship!?"

"You WISH this was a relationship!" she shouted, swinging again.

WHACK!

"ACK! Okay! Okay! Calm down, you crimson-haired combat goblin!"

WHACK!

"Stop calling me that! You emotionally stunted protagonist reject!"

Wes wheezed dramatically. "I think I saw my soul leave my body again…"

Scarlett huffed, arms crossed. "Good. Maybe the next one will have better taste in dialogue."

They went at it for a solid minute.

"You know what, maybe YOU got us killed!"

"Oh please, I wasn't the one distracted monologuing about gacha drops in the middle of the street!"

"At least I don't punch people into the afterlife!"

"At least I don't flirt with goddesses and get flattened by trucks!"

A soft cough interrupted them.

Both of them froze. Slowly, very slowly, they turned toward the source.

Lady Seraphina stood there, a polite smile on her lips, though her eyes sparkled with a mix of amusement and exhaustion.

Wes and Scarlett immediately dropped to their knees in a panic.

"S-Sorry, Lady Seraphina!" Wes cried. "It's not my fault, it's hers! She hit me like a hundred times!"

"Excuse me!?" Scarlett barked. "You were the one calling me a monster in front of a goddess!"

"You ARE a monster!" Wes yelled.

"You're a clown with a death wish!"

Seraphina raised a single hand, and both of them quieted as if silenced by an invisible force.

"I am not upset," she said gently, "though I am beginning to understand why your souls are… uniquely chaotic."

They both blinked.

"Uniquely what now?" Wes asked.

Seraphina chuckled behind her hand. "I brought you two here for two reasons. First… to give you a second chance at life. And second… because I saw something in both of you—potential."

Wes and Scarlett both went quiet.

"A second chance…?" Wes echoed. "Like… start over? In a new world?"

"This really is an isekai," he whispered to himself.

Scarlett spoke cautiously. "What kind of world are you sending us to? What kind of… potential do we even have?"

Seraphina stepped forward, her gown gliding along the glowing grass without a sound.

"The world's name is Elyndra," she said, her voice like wind through crystal. "A realm of magic, swords, monsters, and ancient secrets. A place where destinies intertwine and legends are born."

Wes blinked. "Elyndra, huh? Sounds cool. Kinda rolls off the tongue like a JRPG expansion title."

He tilted his head. "Wait. What kind of magic does this world have, anyway?"

Seraphina's eyes gleamed. "Ah, Elyndra's magic system is deeply rooted in the essence of nature, spirit, and soul. Magic flows through the land like a heartbeat—each region draws from its own affinity. Flame from volcanoes, frost from the northern winds, shadow from ancient ruins, light from sacred groves."

She continued, "Magic is not just cast—it's channeled. Some mages draw from emotions, others from elemental contracts or ancient runes. Some are born attuned, others awaken power through struggle."

Scarlett raised an eyebrow. "So it's not just wands and fireballs?"

Seraphina smiled softly. "No. In Elyndra, magic is alive. It listens, it tests, and it evolves with you."

Wes looked amazed. "Okay, okay, this just keeps getting cooler."

He looked up. "So how do we unlock these powers? Do we start with anything?"

Seraphina nodded. "You will begin with a class attunement. From there, your strength will grow. Let me show you."

She lifted her hand again.

The stars overhead pulsed. The air rippled like water. Suddenly, a giant circular glyph appeared beneath their feet—etched with glowing symbols in gold and violet.

Then—

FWOOOSH!

A massive violet screen erupted in front of them, rising like a wall of shimmering light. It spread out in the air with a faint hum, panels shifting and rotating with glimmering detail. Intricate lines drew patterns that resembled spell circles, and each class name appeared with floating icons and illustrations.

Names began to scroll on the left side, each glowing with arcane light:

Mystic Gunslinger – A sharpshooter who fuses firearms with ancient spells.

Magic Swordswoman – A duelist who blends swordplay with elemental enchantments.

Dragoon – A lancer born of the sky, calling down draconic fury.

Soul Weaver – A mystic who threads fate and spirit into deadly incantations.

Shadow Dancer – A rogue of shadows and illusion.

Fatebound Duelist – A champion guided by destiny itself.

Arcane Archer – A long-range magician who channels spells through enchanted arrows.

Runeblade Paladin – A holy knight who seals magic into their blade with runes.

Chrono Monk – A martial artist who manipulates time through chi.

Phantom Conductor – A summoner who commands musical spirits and sound-based spells.

Wes's jaw dropped. "OH MY STARS. This is like… my dream MMO got an update inside my afterlife."

He started reading the list like a kid in a candy store. "Look at these! Chrono Monk!? Phantom Conductor!? I need at least six alts!"

Scarlett crossed her arms. "I still don't get how I fit into any of this."

Seraphina looked at her with quiet certainty. "You, too, have power within. Perhaps the one you mock as 'violent' is closer to the sword of justice than you know."

Scarlett blinked, looking down. "…Hmph."

Wes and Scarlett stared wide-eyed at the massive glowing screen hovering before them, its golden-violet glow casting divine light over their faces. Countless class names shimmered in celestial script, each surrounded by a floating symbol—some pulsing with fire, others swirling with frost or lightning.

Wes whistled low. "Okay, this is seriously nuts… I feel like I just logged into the world's most legendary RPG."

Scarlett nodded slowly. "There are so many… How are we supposed to pick one?"

"I mean, listen to these," Wes said, scanning the names aloud: "Dragoon, Soul Weaver, Arcane Archer, Shadow Dancer… I've played games with less variety than this."

Scarlett tilted her head. "Some of these sound cool, but I'd like to pick something that matches me."

Wes smirked. "Yeah? So like, maybe something that includes punching people in the face when they annoy you?"

"Maybe Battle Witch or Tsundere Paladin suits you better," she shot back.

He grinned. "Ha! Then you'd be the 'Hotheaded Crimson Reaper' or something. Class ability: Rage Slap."

Scarlett rolled her eyes and lightly bonked him on the head. "Try Shut-Up-Mancer, idiot."

Their bickering continued until Seraphina sighed gracefully. "Children of chaos... Please. Choose."

They both froze.

"Right! Sorry!" Wes said, laughing nervously.

"Apologies," Scarlett added, bowing her head.

Wes turned back to the screen, eyes scanning. Then—

His breath hitched. "No way…"

Right there in glowing blue and silver was a name that sent electric chills down his spine:

Magic Gunslinger

His eyes widened. "It's real… Like, actually real!"

Scarlett blinked. "What are you freaking out about now?"

Wes pointed dramatically. "That! Magic Gunslinger! That's literally my dream class. My build in every game ever!"

Scarlett crossed her arms. "Figures. Of course you'd go for the flashy gun guy."

"I mean, come on—it's perfect for me!" Wes beamed. "Dual-wielding enchanted revolvers, blasting monsters with elemental bullets? It's like I was born to pick this."

Scarlett rolled her eyes again. "Overdramatic as always."

He looked at her. "Did you find one for yourself yet?"

She nodded. "Yeah. Magic Swordswoman."

Wes lit up. "Seriously? That's perfect for you! All elegant but deadly, with enchanted blade strikes and magic flurries."

Scarlett smiled faintly. "It felt right."

Seraphina stepped forward. "Are you both ready to make your choice?"

They nodded together. "Yes!"

Wes tapped the shimmering icon for Magic Gunslinger. A golden ripple spread across the screen.

Scarlett tapped Magic Swordswoman, and a soft red flare followed.

Light poured around them.

Wes felt his body glow with energy. His mind filled with memories of speed, precision, and spells interlaced with bullets. "Yes… this is it. This feels right."

Scarlett's eyes sparkled as her aura swirled with flame and wind. "This blade… it's calling to me."

Seraphina giggled softly. "I knew you would choose those. It was always within your potential."

Wes blinked. "Wait—how'd you know?"

Scarlett tilted her head. "You knew we'd pick these?"

Seraphina smiled warmly. "I have watched your spirits long before you arrived. These paths were already woven into your essence."

Wes and Scarlett exchanged a look.

"That's… kinda spooky," Wes said.

"Kinda beautiful," Scarlett admitted.

Seraphina lifted a graceful hand. "And now, I have gifts for you both."

They both gasped. "Gifts?!"

"What kind of gifts!?" Wes shouted.

"First, Scarlett."

She clicked her fingers.

A radiant beam of light descended in front of Scarlett. From the glow emerged a one-handed longsword.

Its blade shimmered with silvery-white metal, sleek and elegant, shaped with gentle curves. The crossguard was styled like outstretched wings—one wing tipped with flame, the other with wind. The grip was wrapped in dark crimson leather, exuding warmth. Magic spiraled along the blade like glowing tattoos, flame and wind patterns dancing to Scarlett's heartbeat.

At its base rested a small gem—half ruby, half sapphire—set into silver, pulsing in sync with her aura.

Scarlett's eyes widened. "It's… beautiful."

Wes stared. "That's the most badass sword I've ever seen."

Scarlett stepped forward, wrapping her fingers around the grip. The moment her hand closed, energy surged through her body. Her eyes glowed faintly.

"I… I can feel it," she whispered. "It's like it knows me."

Wes grinned. "Yeah, it definitely suits you. Looks like it could slice a tank in half."

Scarlett looked at Seraphina. "What's its name?"

Seraphina replied, "It is called Aetherflare, the Flamewind Blade."

Scarlett's mouth curled into a smirk. "Sounds legendary."

Wes leaned in. "So… where'd it come from?"

Seraphina's eyes sparkled. "Forged in the Heart of Fate. It was not crafted, but woven from divine essence in the Sanctuary of the Eternal Loom. Created using celestial fire stolen from the heart of a dying star, the wind of the First Dawn, and a single thread of my own destiny."

Wes and Scarlett's jaws dropped.

"Wait, wait, wait—so your destiny is in that sword?" Wes asked.

Scarlett blinked. "That's… that's insane."

Seraphina nodded. "Aetherflare is elegant and precise—a blade that will grow with your will, Scarlett."

Scarlett looked down at the sword, then back at the goddess. "Thank you… It's amazing."

"Now…" Seraphina turned. "For you, Wes."

Wes bounced in place. "Let's gooo!"

She snapped her fingers.

A surge of radiant light spiraled down. Two revolvers materialized mid-air.

The first: a polished silver-white barrel etched with glowing aqua-blue runes. The grip was inlaid with pearl, and the entire gun shimmered with wind-magic. The revolving chamber held six glowing sigils, one for each element of light.

The second: a matte black revolver with magma cracks glowing along the steel. Crimson dragonhide wrapped the handle, and sparks burst with each pulse. Its chamber bore the runes of destruction gods.

Wes gasped. "They're… they're incredible."

Scarlett nodded. "They suit you perfectly."

Wes reached out, taking both in his hands. Power flooded through him.

"This… This feels like I've been carrying them my whole life," he said.

Scarlett smiled. "Don't shoot yourself, idiot."

He looked at Seraphina. "Do they have names?"

"Yes," she replied. "Reveria—the silver revolver of Clarity. And Aurelia—the black revolver of Fury."

Wes beamed. "They even SOUND cool!"

Scarlett nodded. "Epic names. Even I'm impressed."

"They are your partners, your will made manifest," Seraphina said. "Speak to them. Respect them. And they will answer with power the world has never seen."

Wes blinked. "Wait… What do you mean 'speak to them'?"

Seraphina's serene smile deepened. "Because those revolvers were once… goddesses."

Both teens froze.

"…WHAT!?" they yelled in unison.

Wes nearly dropped them. "Waitwaitwait—I'm holding goddesses!? Like literal ex-deities!?"

Scarlett's eyes bugged out. "Wes, put them down before you trigger a divine apocalypse!"

Wes held them tighter. "No way! But also—OH MY STARS I'M HOLDING THE MOST DANGEROUS WEAPONS IN THE UNIVERSE!"

Seraphina nodded calmly. "Long ago, Reveria and Aurelia were elemental sisters. Reveria, the serene goddess of balance—wind, ice, water, and light. Aurelia, the passionate goddess of chaos—flame, lightning, earth, and shadow. They upheld equilibrium, but were betrayed during the War of the Primordials by gods who feared their power. Rather than destroy them, the higher gods sealed their souls into twin weapons."

Scarlett's mouth dropped. "That's… that's tragic. And horrifying."

"I've got a literal divine nuke in each hand!" Wes cried. "This is WAY above my paygrade!"

Seraphina smiled softly. "They waited for a soul who could hold both harmony and chaos. That soul… is you."

Wes looked at the revolvers, speechless. Then nodded. "I'll use them wisely."

"They will allow you to craft elemental bullets from raw mana," Seraphina added.

Wes smirked. "Now that… that sounds awesome."

The weapons dissolved into radiant light and entered his chest.

"GAAHH!" Wes shouted.

Scarlett gasped. "They're… bonded to you!"

Seraphina nodded. "Their spirits rest in your heart now."

"Okay that's both terrifying and incredibly cool," Wes muttered.

Scarlett looked at Seraphina. "What now?"

Seraphina smiled. "Now… you begin your second life. Are you ready?"

They nodded.

"We're ready," Wes said.

Scarlett looked to him and smiled. "Let's go, partner."

Wes's grin widened. "Right. Let's do it."

Seraphina raised her hand. "Good luck, my Wes and Scarlett."

A flash of white light.

The light faded. Birds chirped, and golden sunbeams broke through the emerald canopy. The sky above was a rich sapphire blue, scattered with clouds shaped like floating dragons. Flowers of unknown species bloomed along the path, some glowing softly, others humming with magical resonance. Crystals jutted from the base of ancient trees, reflecting shimmering light.

Wes blinked. "Whoa… this is… unreal."

Scarlett took in a breath of clean, enchanted air. "It's… the most beautiful forest I've ever seen."

The wind whispered through the leaves. Far in the distance, a faint chime echoed—like music carried by nature itself.

The ground underfoot sparkled faintly with stardust. Vines curled around mossy stones, and fairy lights drifted lazily between mushroom groves.

Scarlett looked at Wes, eyes full of fire and determination. "You ready?"

Wes drew in the magic-charged air, cracked his knuckles, and gave a wild grin.

"You bet. Let's start this new life with a bang."

Together, they stepped forward.

Before taking their first step into the unknown, Wes suddenly froze.

He looked around at the mystical forest glowing with enchanted beauty, then raised a curious brow. "Wait a minute... if this is a real isekai… then does that mean… status screens are a thing?"

Scarlett turned toward him, puzzled. "What are you rambling about now?"

Wes smirked. "Just one way to find out."

He raised his hand and shouted confidently, "Status!"

A chime echoed in the air.

A large violet screen burst open before him, covered in shimmering lines of text and floating icons. The screen pulsed faintly with magical energy.

Wes's eyes sparkled. "IT WORKED! I HAVE A STATUS SCREEN! THIS IS PEAK ISEKAI!"

Scarlett blinked. "Wait. Are you serious? That's a real thing?"

Wes nodded eagerly. "You doubted me? Behold!"

Scarlett stared at the screen, stunned. "Okay… that's a lot. And I actually feel powerful."

Wes leaned in with a huge grin. "Tsundere Momentum? That's a real skill!? I KNEW IT!"

Scarlett turned bright red. "SHUT UP!"

He burst into laughter. "You've got emotion-based buffs. You're a literal mood-swordswoman."

"Keep talking and I'll show you what Tsundere Momentum feels like—with my fist!" she snapped.

Wes held his hands up innocently. "I'm just saying! You power up when you're flustered—it's canon now!"

Scarlett growled, took a deep breath—then smacked him across the head.

"OW! Why does pain follow truth!?" Wes cried, rubbing his scalp.

"Because the 'truth' comes out of your dumb mouth!" she barked.

"That hurt more than a level 10 burn debuff!"

She whacked him again.

"OW! Okay okay! Mercy!"

"You're the worst partner," she muttered.

He slung his revolvers with flair. "The worst partner with a god-tier loadout!"

"God-tier annoyance, maybe!"

"Still counts!" he grinned.

She groaned but smiled despite herself.

"Let's go, partner."

Wes smirked, rubbing his bruised head. "Right. Let's do it."

They turned together, stepping past the crystalline trees and glowing mushrooms. The sky above shimmered between two suns now rising, casting colors across the enchanted forest. Birds sang strange melodies, and the air hummed with magical potential.

Their journey had begun.

To be continued.
