But as he reads, his eyelids begin to betray him and slowly close as he nods off, before long jonathan is sound asleep with his face on his keyboard.

Looking to the kid making the noise jonathan freezes for a moment before the realization kicks in. 'Oh shit, thats nie lie! okay jonathan, calm down. your countless hours of reading webnovels have prepared you for this.'
before jonathan has more time to panic he passes out again as memories enter his mind.

she accepts the bet thinking its impossible to go from 5 to 100 points of soul force in such a short time.
she then tells nie lie to stand at the back of the class for the remaining 2 months.
'now is my chance' tang meng thinks as he gets up to join nie lie at the back of the class, closely followed by du ze and lu piao and eventually some characters he hadn't bothered to remember.

After school
wa all go our own way except for nie lie, lu piao and du ze. from the novel i know they are going to be hunting horned sheep to buy soul crystals.
I had thought of stopping them and just buying the crystals myself but that way, xiao ning'er might not get saved by nie lie which would just make things harder in the future.
I am going to spend my time learning inscriptions in the library, i already have the basics in my memories but i think having a good understanding of inscriptions will be very important, especially for learning laws in the future as according to nie lie, the laws are just complex inscriptions spread out across the world.
walking through the library i pick a few books on inscriptions and a few on alchemy, just to see what it's all about. I first look through the alchemy books, quickly realizing that I don't understand a single thing and then giving up.
'well... i guess nie lie can just keep being the alchemy guy'
next i look through the inscription books.
'this... is easy, i expected something in the lines of advanced math but this is more like grade school coloring book level. Do people in this world actually struggle with this?'
I quickly go look for more advanced books, most are in different languages but that doesn't matter when it comes to the inscriptions themselves.
'still easy, but i'm pretty sure the people in this world aren't dumb, some of these people know 4 dead languages just to read some books. so why do they struggle so much with inscriptions? Or rather, why are they so easy for me? Well... that's a question for future me to worry about.'
i spend the rest of the evening reading book after book on inscriptions.
The next week is painful. It's not just shen xiu teaching us, There are many teachers teaching many different subjects but i don't gain much from any of the classes.
For cultivation nie lie will be teaching us some of his overpowered techniques, in alchemy i don't understand even the slightest thing no matter how long i study and for inscriptions i know more than the teacher. So i spend my time in class self studying inscriptions from books.
'luckily the teachers don't particularly care what you are doing in their class as long as you shut up.' i think to myself while glancing up from my book at a certain barely awake trio.

i seat myself in the back of the class and open up the book i am reading, a copy of the first volume of the lightning fire holy scripture and begin looking through it only glancing up to see the faces of shock when xiao ning'er brings nie lie breakfast.

class starts and the three VIPs squeeze themselves into seats at the desk next to mine, for once shen xiu does not make any of us stand in the back. purely to keep up her appearance of a good teacher in front of the guests.
i continue focusing on my book and feel my understanding of inscriptions deepen.
"nie lie!" i hear shen xiu yell not even 5 minutes into class
"what do you want" nie lie
"you dare sleep in my class, do you already know everything" shen xiu
"yes" nie lie
"then tell me about the inscription up here" shen xiu
"a low lever fire class inscription, can barely be counted as a green bronze rank inscription, derived from the 38 foundation method, completely lacking in power but can be used to boil water" nie lie
before the class can burst out into laughter i stand up and say:
"And its also a stolen inscription"
the moment the words leave my mouth the class goes silent.
"teacher would you say this book i have here from the feng xue empire is older than your sacred family?"

At this point i pass the book to the VIPs sitting on the bench next to me while the rest of the students whisper among each other.
"i will remember this" shen xiu says with hostility in her voice as she walks out
'huh, isn't shen yue supposed to make some thinly veiled threats first? And did she actually storm out of class in the original work? is the famed butterfly effect already at work? i haven't even done much.'
With the teacher gone the class is over and the students are dismissed, now buzzing with excitement as the walk home.
i see the guests whisper something to each other.
"Nie lie, tang meng stay for a moment." says the vice-principal, ye sheng
"Trom now on you can work as collection deacons in the school library." ye sheng
"Thank you vice-principal." nie lie and i say with a polite bow.
